It was scary and awful at the time and we're very grateful things have turned out OK. :-) Thank you so much! We're slowly working on getting the other videos from this trip out. We'd love it if you'd consider subscribing to the channel.
We've done the guarantee room bookings a couple of times with Royal to save money and it worked out OK for us - 9th or 10th deck aft balconies both times, but have heard stories from other folks that weren't happy with the cabins they were assigned. Whatever you choose to do, we hope you have a wonderful trip! 😊
Your videos are GREAT! We're in the planning & research stage for a Mediterranean cruise and I'm so happy I came across your channel. I enjoy a balcony. Do you think it's necessary for such a full port itinerary? What month was your cruise?
Thank you so much! We usually book a balcony because our son is on the spectrum and if he feels overstimulated or overwhelmed, his "safe space" on a cruise ship is our cabin's balcony with his Kindle. Also, since the pandemic, we've been booking balconies just in case we end up quarantined in our cabin. That being said, with so many back-to-back port days and long excursions booked at almost every port, we barely spent any time on our balcony, The ship we were on had plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy the views and the Captain would make announcements letting us know in advance when to be on deck and which side to see various sites so those who didn't have a private balcony were able to enjoy the beautiful views. The shore excursions are super expensive and if you spend any time exploring pre- or post-cruise, that adds to the cost, too. If you think it's worth the splurge for a balcony and it's in your budget - go for it! We love breakfast on the balcony. Otherwise, you could definitely save money by booking inside or ocean view and use the money saved towards other trip costs. Our trip was at the end of September/early October. Based on the research we did, that time of year is supposedly when it's less crowded and not as hot. It was an amazing (and exhausting!) trip! We hope you have fun planning yours and if you have any specific questions, feel free to reach out.😊
@@royalshenanigansusa OMG! The heat is what I try to avoid so we are fall travelers but it's warmer and warmer in the Fall in recent years. I'm an educator so it made me smile watching your son read during dinner. You have a beautiful family. Thanks again for all the helpful information & follow back 😊
Santorini was honestly the worst day for us - SUPER hot and humid. We brought the single use chemical ice packs to help cool down quick. We LOVED Kusadasi, Turkey. Very temperate at that time of year. Thank you for being an educator! Our family relies on folks like you to help us navigate the waters with our son - lots of challenges with a 12yo who is developmentally 7/8 yo, but has been reading at a college level since 2nd grade. We just can't keep up with him! 😊
Hi! Santorini was our only tender port. We docked at the new port in Mykonos. Our shore excursion included the sea bus ticket to return to ship post excursion. We had a shore excursion in Santorini also so didn’t end up using the Key priority tendering. On boarding day, we received a letter telling us time and location to meet for Key tender process. It was in the morning and most Key guests were part of tender groups 1 and 2 and first off the ship along with shore excursion guests. Hope that helps!
What a horrible thing to happen to your daughter. Glad she is okay😊. Going to watch your other video’s on this trip!

Doing this cruise next year, debating on ocean or balcony view and letting the cruise line choose our room
