The real problem here is the mechanics used generate repeatable observable outputs such as electrons.
But their actual behavior in an atomic structure is impossible to directly observe.
So placing quantum mechanics aside (like completely aside) we have to really step back and ask ourselves if the current ideology of calculating the fields and particles in an atom is an accurate representation of the actual mechanism or just predictable way to describe its behavior and output.
Hence buzzterms like "dark matter" etc that bandaid our lack of understanding on why our theorums fail to predict specific things even their behavior in space and the universe
And the same goes with quantum mechanics.
The main reason i feel there is so much infighting is we assume we know all of these things when in actuality even the assumption of the fact that quantum mechanics even works is solely based on an abstract experiment dealing with the output of photons.
This is like looking at a clockface. Seeing the time, checking multiple clockfaces to confirm they are in synch and then at a far later date opening the clock to find that instead of mechanical workings there is a cartoon squirrel powering the output to move the hands.
While it may have been predictable on the outside and we can use it to do other operations and to simply synchronize and tell time until the clock was opened releaving its workings we still had no fundimental way of understanding why it did what it did.
Science needs to be more clear when it comes to the difference between fact and theorem.
All of this is great until you are forced to understand anything in total....like the clock with the cartoon squirrel inside of it...lol

If you dont believe me research gravity, there are mathematic formulas accounting for its presence yet other than theories that mass create s this effect. There is no tangible proof of how it works. Just that it works.

Because in 1666 an apple fell on Newton's head
Our modern view of gravity from this event was bred
'Till Einstein came along and said "Newton man, you suck.
It's obvious that space-time controls gravity, you shmuck."
The unification wasn't to come from relativity
So then Einstein spent his later years in mental misery
Then in 1968 the world of physics it did change
And through the years a new theory arrived and it was strange
It said the world we live in is comprised of not but strings
These tiny bits of energy, these crazy wiggly things
It finally made the subatomic forces work with gravity
The quantum world and Einstein became one big family
We're riding the knowledge express man!
Oh well with string theory uncertainty had shown its ugly face
There were five versions each unique so which should we embrace
Then Edward Witten came along and said "Hey guys, shut up."
There's eleven dimensions P-branes, D-Branes, and much more close up
The world gave out a collective "ahh" and everyone did understand
The universe and unification might be close at hand
See, different string vibrations cause the particles we know
And each dimension helps explain why strings move just like so
We may be just a membrane and our world is not unique
There may be many other universes so to speak
But in this crazy string based world there's so much we can do
So man, just lay back and let the super symmetry work for you

The amount of wrong information is also through the roof. So many "simplifications" are made that give you a false idea of what's really going on. One example: electrons, protons, neutrons, etc aren't particles, they're waves. They only become particles temporarily when they're observed (observed means interacted with by another particle or field). And that's not even 1 minute into the video.

What puzzles me is "observation". What is different about an-observing and non-observing piece of equipment. What is the essence of being an observer? How does a wave function know it is being observed?

    • @jamescalleja6377
      @jamescalleja6377 9 ปีที่แล้ว +48

+Roedy Green to observe which slot the particle goes through you need to interact with it, like bouncing a photon off it, there by interfering with it and collapsing it's super position. to not observe which slot it goes through you just look at the back wall where they strike to determine their behaviour.

    • @aramintaverdi3923
      @aramintaverdi3923 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

+Roedy Green For me, the difference is in the energy . Every thought sends its own class of energy... It could be negative or positive...and to 'observe' means one to be having a thought about the thing observed, and as a result, feeling something...That 'something' is what the 'wave' feels as an order, because the 'something' goes full charged with energy.

About the teleportation: i personally think we are just a "bunch" of information coded in form of DNA to represent us in a phisical state, so teleporting us would just be like cutting a file from our desktop and pasting it into the doc. folder.
The file is the same and we don't care about its previous location (state), we just need what's written inside hence i wouldn't -personally- mind teleportation. Bare in mind, it's 5 am and i haven't slept.

The act of observation at the microscopic scale requires physical interaction (electromagnetic or photonic) and therefore partial or total change of what your instruments are interacting with. This disturbs the wave and it reverts to its particle state. Failing to account for the mechanism that is used to measure the electrons results in apparent contradictions.

    • @williamolenchenko5772

You are behind the times Henry. Your explanation has been disproved. The detectors can by turned on, but the data recorders can be turned off, and the interference pattern still exists. Also, if the detectors' data is deleted before the screen's pattern is looked at, the interference pattern still exists. Therefore, the act of detection is not causing the interference pattern to go away.

Would someone please be so kind as to explain how these cameras change the results..... what feedback or action or communication is sent back to the initial output that causes it to change?

Was thinking the same thing. So, there’s even another level to it. Not only is it everywhere or in every state at once, it’s also in every position or state it’s ever been and will ever be in the future. Hence, time travel is possible, if you think about not having to worry about teleportation and the killing of the original Alice. Alice was already in that other position and also will be in that same position in the future. How to realize that superposition and (make up a word here…maybe supertime?) is difficult. Since space and time is spacetime, then superspace and supertime would be combined so everything (or anything) could exist in all probable positions at all probable times. Anything could be anywhere at anytime. The realization would only become apparent once observed. So who or what is observing us and can they manipulate any possible outcome? Could they change their observational focus and observe a different version of us in a different space and different time? And could we interact with the observer and somehow “manifest” ourselves in any position at anytime at our inclination? Can one of us or any atomic combination become an observer and somehow manipulate all of superspacetime? Or can we change our current state or time or position by becoming observers ourselves and measuring ourselves in those different locations at will? MAN, I am stoned…

In my infinite lack of wisdom I would simplify it one step further for the other layman’s like myself and state this....I just came up with this theorem so I will take full credit should it ever be used in scientific literature or a comic book.
Imagine we hold a mirror to the back of our head - there is an image of the back of our head on the mirror. We can see that image if we are facing another mirror ( a degree of separation). BUT if we try to quickly turn our head OBSERVE the image of the back of our head on the mirror we are left staring at our now perplexed face, wandering what the hell happened. By quickly turning our face in order to outsmart the image we in-fact changed the premise of the experiment and are thus left confused. I’m sure everyone reading this has at some stage in their life tried tricking the mirror. Then as you got older and wiser you realised that your primitive child brain needed a second degree of observation ( camera, another mirror) to infancy see the back of your head.

This video compiles and makes understandable what would normally take many years of research. I've heard it said that the mark of a genius is to be able to take that which is complicated and present it in a way that the average person can understand. This video reaches that mark.

mrwideboy no they aren’t. They’re designed to fire a projectile. What a person uses that fired projectile to do determines their usage, their creation does not. They can be used for all kinds of things, killing being one of those uses. Cars were designed to transport people. If someone uses a car to run over someone else, that doesn’t mean that cars were designed to run someone over. It means someone chose to use them that way. It’s not a hard concept to understand. And banning them will not stop them from being used for bad purposes. Because the people that use them that way aren’t following the laws preventing them from using them that way in the first place, so new laws will have no effect on them whatsoever.

    ((2,725 x 160.4) / 3.14 x (10^4) - (6,357 x 10^-3) = 1,392,000
The diameter of the Sun: 1,392,000 km.
    Numbers 3, 6 & 9 - Nikola Tesla
    One Parsec = 206265 AU = 3.26 light-years = 3.086 × 10^13 km.
    The Numbers: 3, 6 and 9
    ((3^6) x 9) - (3.086 x (10^3)) -1 = 3,474
    The Moon's diameter: 3,474 km.
Now we will use the diameter of the Moon.
    Moon's diameter: 3,474 km.
    (3.474 + 369 + 1) x (10^2) = 384,400
The term L.D (Lunar Distance) refers to the average distance between the Earth and the Moon, which is 384,400 km.
    Moon's diameter: 3,474 km.
    ((3+6+9) x 3 x 6 x 9) - 9 - 3 + 3,474 = 6,378
    Earth's equatorial radius: 6,378 km.

Can someone please explain to me i what the "observation of the electrons" specifically means? Which method did the scientists use to detect the electron? I mean how can the fact that the detector is on affect the wave/particles? I was interpreting this as a sort of perception limitation that meant humans could only perceive the electrons as particles and only infer their wave behaviour, but it doesnt seem to be that way, you seem to say the electron literally changes its behaviour when it is being observed, so i must understand what "being observed" specifically means.
Thanks for the amazing video, im mindblown, an excellent introduction to quantum physics :)

You have another experiment to do for yourself now, concentrate on the 15,000 likes, ignore the 512 thumbs down and the arrogant confirmed scientists' comments, who as usual can't act more humble because when they studied physics, they think they can be everything they want to be on earth and in reality they are just frustrated ugly lil persons making arrogant comments from behind their keyboards. I loved this video for dummies!! This is the best one for people who don't have a notion of physics but who still are striving to understand! I listened to Brian Cox and all the pompous guys out there, but really yours is the best, simple, not arrogant at all ! Thanks a lot!

According to general relativity when stuff falls into a blackhole everything about it’s existence (with the exception of mass, charge, and momentum) is completely erased. That doesn’t sound so bad. We tend to think of blackholes as being like galactic garbage disposals. However, if all the information about something is destroyed, then you lose time-reversibility. Time-reversal is the idea that if you run time backwards, all the basic physical laws of the universe continue to work the same. More obscurely, you can predict the future based on what you know now, and time reversal means that you can derive what happened in the past as well. QM requires that time-reversibility (or “unitarity”) holds. So QM requires that blackholes cannot destroy information. One way around this is amazingly complicated entanglement between all of the in-falling matter, and all of the Hawking Radiation that comes out later. Again, we’ll never be able to measure this. To get results we would have to exactly measure at least half of all of the photons generated by Hawking radiation over the essentially infinite life time of the blackhole (every blackhole that exists today will be around long, long after the heat death of the universe).

In your case (or mine), not likely. Note that most principles in quantum mechanics only apply to subatomic particles. Because only then their wave functions are large enough for all that "quantum weirdness" to make any sense. As for macroscopic objects, our wave functions are too small for us to behave like particles. So no, you won't be in Paris today and New York tomorrow even if no one is looking, sorry.
