That converting audio into MIDI data tip.... Brooooooo..... Savior move right there. That just opened up a whole new window of thought, thanks! I've been learning Logic on my own over the past 7-8 months, esp during this quarantine, so videos like this have been super helpful. Ok, let me go look at the rest of the tips, lmao.

Wow. 🤯 Been using logic for a year and this video showed me I have no idea how to really use logic. I’ll probably rewatch this a few times…excellent!!!
Unbelievable. I learned more in thirty five minutes than I would have in one hundred hours of browsing tutorials. Thank you and way to create some solid awesomeness!!!

Great tips. One note. In Tip 11: STACKS, you say you can’t put effects on a stack. But that’s only if you do it as a “folder”. If you choose the “summing” option instead then you get inserts & can add any plugins you want. FYI.
@@NathanJamesLarsen All good. Thanks for the reply. The only reason I know that is because I JUST did it today. Ha! What's interesting about stacks is that it's more intuitive than buses, sends and aux. (That's because I'm a video editor and Premiere & Avid have "collapse" features that are similar to stacks. Plus I just upgraded from Garageband, so anything that makes it easier it a plus.) Question though. Other than being able to put effects on it, are there any other differences in Stacks between "folder" and "summing"? And if not why wouldn't you always use "summing"? Thanks in advance. Great video! Reinold Guzman He’s still wrong though. WRONG. Nathan Larsen Music even admitted that I was right. It’s important to point out things that are incorrect in tutorial videos because lots of beginners will watch this video and take what he says as gospel, and not only will they do things the wrong way, they’ll repeat what he said to other people and next thing you know, a whole bunch of misinformation will have been spread.
I don't think the fade tool thing is "the wrong way" -- I mean, yeah, you're right - I misspoke but if people are using the fade tool to change the shape vs what you're saying - it doesn't matter. There are usually multiple ways to do everything in most DAWs. Again - I have no problem being corrected but the fade thing is really not a big deal. I didn't know half these tips for YEARS and was still making good music.
Nathan Larsen Music Nope, I corrected you because you stated in the video that you “cannot change the slope of the fade with the Marquee Fade Tool” which is just flat out wrong and misinformation. I wasn’t talking about the many different ways you can achieve manipulating fades but talking specifically about the Marquee Fade Tool’s functionality.
Great video :) Only one mistake I,noticed was concerning the Logic Remote: you don’t have to be connected to the internet to use it, you just have to be connected to the same wifi network your Mac running Logic is connected to. So basically, you can even create a wifi hotspot that is not connected to an Internet router/box, connect the Mac and iPad/iPhone to it and use Logic Remote.
Great stuff, Nathan! About half of these I already knew but the rest no. I won't use all of the 'new' ones but good to know nonetheless. The Fade tooltip around 20:00 - excellent! 😄

One of the best Logic Pro X tips videos I've seen. Concise, conversational and super helpful tips. And appreciate the markers in the description!! Thanks so much for posting.
1:11 enable advanced editing 1:37 use 2 editing tools 2:20 use 3 editing tools 2:53 enable "fade tool click zones" (fade ins and outs with mouse) 3:38 changing the transport video.
4:52 change drag to crossfade 5:53 set snap tool to certain behaviours 7:07 alternative project versions 8:17 turn voice recording into sampler mapping 11:15 Flex Pitch
12:40 Track Stacks 14:00 Hide Tracks 15:07 Track Header Configuration + Freeze 17:03 Turn Audio into a Midi-Track (from Flex-Pitch) 18:42 Slow down or speed up audio using the fade tool
Doesn't freeze track basically bounce a temporary aif of that track, and then only playback the aifs (instead of re-running the VSTs) of each frozen track when you're still working on the whole project?
Your explanations and the cutting of the video are on point. Have watched so many hours of other tip videos explaining not the half of your content. Using logic for years, despite i learned a lot. Thanks
I would simply say 'wow'. Thanks a lot Nathan. I am gonna watch it multiple times until I get this tutorial completely as I am just a beginner on Logic Pro X.
When you go into "learn mode" to assign specific tasks to knobs/faders/switches on your MIDI controller, does it learn to only do that specific task when you're in the EQ window? Can you assign the same knob/switch/fader to do a different job in another plug in for example and when you switch between the two it will remember what it's job is in that specific place? @25:57 I'm not sure what it means when it says "this control is already assigned to another parameter, do you want to reassign this control?" You very quickly hit "reassign" and moved on... Does "keep both" mean one knob/fader/switch will know that it has different controls in different contexts? To keep building a library of tasks for each knob/fader/switch should we always select "keep both"? This video is gold dust and thank you
VERY comprehensive breakdown of workflow - especially with regards to recording via the iphone app and turning flex pitch vocals into midi to get ideas out. thanks for making this!
I love these videos man! Not sure why, but you have a great way of making things make sense more than most! Would love to see a compression video.... basically Compression 101(what it reall is doing, the parameter adjustments, single use vs. a bus, what instances to use, what instruments to compress together) Just getting back into DAWs and recording in general after a 12 year hiatus and switching from PT to Logic and loving it! Your videos have made the transition pretty seemless! A lot of 'Ah Has!' and Ohhhh yeahhhh...'makes sense' Thanks for the knowledge!
Hey really appreciate this!! Thanks so much. I've got a lot of videos planned already and am keeping notes of what people want. I know I'm gonna do one on the ways to use Busses for sure in the near future. I'm kind of staying away from deep mixing because i think there are enough mixing channels - I'm focused on songwriting and producing (which is a different process than mixing). Not saying I won't make any mixing videos but that's not my focus.

Yaaa! Love it! Keep making music!
Nathan Larsen Music mi favorite trick was Flex Pitch, I was thinking how to do pitch correction and you Came up with the solution
3:38 : You actually CAN adjust the slope by adding a fade first and moving the cursor over it afterwards (another tool will appear to adjust the slope).
Yes I've already addressed this in the comments - thanks.
@@NathanJamesLarsen Whoops, didn't see that! Great video nonetheless!

Some life changing stuff here for me! I’ve watched tons of videos but you’re the first and only one I’ve subscribed to. Thanks for this
Doesn't freeze track basically bounce a temporary aif of that track, and then only playback the aifs (instead of re-running the VSTs) of each frozen track when you're still working on the whole project?
Your explanations and the cutting of the video are on point. Have watched so many hours of other tip videos explaining not the half of your content. Using logic for years, despite i learned a lot. Thanks
Thanks a bunch!!

This video is gold dust and thank you
there is a shortcut for the color pallete, its control c or alt c
VERY comprehensive breakdown of workflow - especially with regards to recording via the iphone app and turning flex pitch vocals into midi to get ideas out. thanks for making this!
100% - thanks!
At 17:30 awesome trick, before this vdo, so many great tips here about which I had no idea.... thnx a lot brother
🔥🔥🙏🙏 thanks! Happy to help
You really came through with the project alternatives tip. It changes everything for me! Subscribed. Thanks bro!
I’ve been using logic casually for about seven years now. This taught me more than my audio production courses did. Thanks so much!
This is the greatest thing on TH-cam. Thank you so much.
I was lookingfor something like this a couple of weeks ago and now its all here!! Aaaawesome!!
Boom! Thanks!
I actually sat here and made notes ... whoahh !! Excellent thank you Nathan, so useful
Awesome, *Nathan Larsen Music* !
