  • US-trained emergency physician Nour al-Jalbout wanted desperately to serve her fellow Lebanese, but less than two years after returning home she says the country's endless heartbreaks are forcing her to leave. She is now waiting on a US visa to take up a job offer at Harvard and, on its approval, she will join hundreds of doctors who are fleeing Lebanon's political and economic crises, even during a pandemic.

    This video is so sad and to see that our best doctors are leaving the country just comes to show how dire the situation is! I am surprised this doesn't have more views because its shedding light on a very real and very disconcerting phenomenon among many unfortunate phenomena that are taking place in Lebanon today.

    INTHE BIBLE, LEBANON IS DESCRIBED AS A WORLD OF BEAUTY. I do not understand why has it so many troubles...Lebanese are successful businessprople, hardworking, longing for peace... Why the middle east political factions never leave Lebanon alone ?

      Never forget that the modern Lebanese are the ancient seafaring Phoenicians. They did not disappear. This video made me cry!

    Maybe Israel could help. Lebanese are not the enemies of Israel. It is the leaders and political leaders who hate Israel. Israel could send a hospital ship complete with medical facilities and supply. They can anchor in Cyprus with the help of the Cypriot government. Lebanese who needs medical treatment can go there by ferry boats from the Christian port of Jounieh. During the height of the Syrian civil war, Israel helped the refugees from the war by setting up emergency field hospital.

      Israel would so happy to help the Lebanese people with anything at all but Lebanese politicians and especially hezbollah won’t allow it!! Lebanese people deserve better

      Unfortunately Iran is controlling Lebanon and won't allow that.

      @Halcon Serrano He begins his post with the word "Maybe..." so he is just expressing a hope and no way is he speaking in behalf of any country, so what are you talking about.

      I think Lebanon is better under Israel rules. I can see arab christians in Israel achieved really well in economic and educations. They just need a good leadership under a good governance like what Israelis have now.

      I am reading these comments after the Hamas terrorist attack on 7 Oct 2023. It’s really incredible how everyone knows Iran is Lebanon’s biggest problem.

    Let Lebanon’s government be a lesson to the world, this is what happens when no one or the wrong people are in charge of running your government. The economy is pretty much fueled on ONLY Lebanon hash.

    Go to Canada. If you hate cold winters there or the US. Take winters off further south.

    This is sad. I can't blame her for wanting to leave but going to US, the country largely responsible for strife in Lebanon as well as the ME is a double blow.

    This is terrible, ya3ni, I have worked in worse situations than there within the Arab world; and struggled on. Now they face a brain drain on top of everything else. They don't need to get out they need to see why they have the problems and tackle the weed at the roots. Sectarianism isn't the answer and neither is simple blame but determination that there is a different way.

    All the problem in Middle East is religion, one religion.

    • @GGTanguera
      @GGTanguera 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I lived in the Middle East for 17 years. Islam is not the problem. Judaism is not the problem. Druze are not the problem. I'm ✝️ :)
      The main problem is the corruption, followed by the greed, ignorance and incompetence. Ramadan Kareem to people who are celebrating!

      The religion of greed - this is what's called. Their god is money and they worship it by sacrificing people.
