Honored to have been watched for data! I think I gave some weirder picks for mine on purpose! This is a great video. Love this approach.

Great video. One note on The Crew...I understand your thought of a cooperative game being something that might appeal to non-gamers, and I think, in general, you're probably right. But the Crew doesn't allow your fellow players to help you... which means that if you make a mistake, you're letting everybody down, which can be really intimidating to new gamers

I enjoy heavier games but am always keeping an eye out for games I can share with less experienced gamers. I have a well-rounded collection at this point. Also, Codenames is my favorite game; the GOAT. I find that King of Tokyo can be a little light for experienced gamers; however, with the Power-Up expansion it's great.

This is a new approach to reviews: data heavy but with a clear human element. I’m a heavy trick-taking gamer and while The Crew and Nokusu Dice really scratches that itch, it’s wise to start off new gamers with Skull King and Potato Man first so they get the ideas and basic skills needed. And sometimes a certain game and mechanic may never have the chance to appeal. I’m like that with TtR.
    Thanks for the video!

Nice video. It's another proof how different persons like different games and relying in a top 10 doesn't guarantee success when introducing a game to someone. It's like music, food, books, etc. Anyway, I've read that there's no game to please everyone, but with so many games at least one will be enjoyable for a specific individual.

Absolutely, in most of my videos I aim to take the subjective nature out at the start with the data, so at the end we can see how many actually land. It's always a fascinating journey. Glad you liked it

3 family/gateway games you may want to try is Fresco, Stone Age and Dice Town. Easy Peasy and Unique. Of course there are many, but i teach Newbies new games at my board gaming group and these 3 never fail. Good luck on your journey.

Cascadia is my favorite game right now. I think that is easy to learn, but there is a bit more to it in figuring out what to draft and where to place everything. Azul, which appears just out of the top 10 on your graph, is my number 2 game. Just One is a great filler or something to start the evening. I agree that The Crew might not work for someone that has never played a trick taking game. Took a bit for my girlfriend to figure it out. Haven't gone back to it in a while. Codenames I've only played at two, I think, and also played Codenames Duet. It can be a struggle to come up with clues that can get more than 1 word without risking the assassin. Some other good gateway games - For Sale, No Thanks, Super Mega Lucky Box, and Point Salad.

Just One and Codenames work well for nongamers because they are more group social activities than a games.

Absolutely, everything I pull one of those out, it makes me think how beautiful board gaming is and how not everything has to with a "board" or difficult. It's why I make this channel, to bring play to more people's lives and these games are just so simple and wonderful, they will be forever keepers.
