    Hi this is a great explanation and I recall reading info from a dentist saying the periodontal ligament needs to be removed after a routine dental extraction in order to prevent a cavitation which to the ones reading unfamiliar to hearing this is a incomplete healing of the jawbone that can occur months upwards to beyond 40 years later. Mark Breiner is the dentists name from Fairfield Connecticut of the US. So he says this ligament or is it all these ligaments that are supposed to be removed in order to allow proper healing of the jawbone? Breiner has practiced dentistry for 30 years and just needed clarification on this matter. So he says ALL ROUTINE DENTAL EXTRACTIONS will have to have the ligament(s) completely removed.
    People later on can get possibly acquire phantom toothaches where a tooth is no longer there. So the phantom toothaches are the cavitation forming that the bone did not properly heal so the immune system is constantly fighting a infection because pockets of bacteria are proliferating.
    So do you have a video showing the periodontal flaps of skin being removed? I’m unsure if all oral surgeons do this and a minority of dentists do this?

    HI. very good video. thank you. came here looking for info on the pdl injection. Some videos state go into the sulcus until you feel pressure and only one said to meet resistance than go a few mm through the junctional epithelium. Can you give me a better idea of what I should be feeling and envisioning when giving this injection?

    If the periodontal ligament gets injured due to trauma will it heal on its own ?

    • @DentalManiaK
      @DentalManiaK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rahul Roy, as long as the cells involved in it’s healing process are present there, it does heal on its own!
