to be more accurate genius wand - reduces enemy with a flat magic resistance reduction. divine glaive - give you percentage magic penetration depending on the enemy's resistance. meaning, since genius gives flat magic res, if the enemy has high magic resistance. the enemy resistance will just overwhelm this debuff, therefore the higher the res the lesser this item is effective. while since divine gives percentage, the magic penetration you get depends on the enemy magic resistance, the lower the resistance the lower the pen you get from this item, with enemy having high resistance you also get high magic penetration. regardless, it's always better to combine both. if you can't, then choose whichever is better depending on your enemy. I mean in late game, even assassins end up using both 😂 but still, it's nice to know these things.

Plus Karina targets squishy/ no defense heroes, which in fact genius wand deals more damage to. TLDR. Genius wand is for bursting Devine glaive is for anti tank. Karina is a burst hero so genius wand is a good item for her.
