- Today I review the NEW Wagyu Steakhouse Burger from Arby's®! In this video I reviewed the Deluxe version for $6.19.
Arby's slogan is "We have the meats," and they've sold plenty: duck, venison, elk… even a "carrot" made out of meat. But among the pantheon of fast food brands, Arby's has actually never offered the most popular meat out there: hamburger. Yes, the chain boasts that they sell "premium Angus beef sandwiches." But what about ground beef between a bun?
Today, Arby's announced they are finally adding a burger to the menu for the first time in their 58-year history - and as the king of meats, they've decided to go upmarket, using Wagyu beef for a new limited-edition Wagyu Steakhouse Burger.
Using "our meat expertise," Arby's claims that this new burger is "the highest-quality burger" the fast food market has ever seen, featuring a blend of 52 percent American Wagyu (as opposed to Japanese Wagyu) beef and 48 percent traditional ground beef. The resulting 6.4-ounce patty - touted as 50 percent larger than McDonald's Quarter Pounder - is then cooked sous vide style leaving "mouthwatering marbling, rich flavor, and buttery tenderness."
Finally, the Wagyu Steakhouse Burger is topped with American cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion, and "a special burger sauce" before being sandwiched in a toasted brioche bun. If that's not enough, customers can also add bacon and ranch for what Arby's describes as "a more unique, indulgent flavor."
"Instead of focusing on making billions of mediocre burgers, we're taking a stance on high-quality meat that deserves to be cooked properly," stated Patrick Schwing, Arby's chief marketing officer. "As the meat experts, we've spent over two years of dedicated research and development to deliver a premium burger that redefines what's possible from a drive thru. Overdone burgers are over and done."
But can Arby's really pull this off, taking meat "normally reserved for the finest steakhouses" and "bringing it to the masses" with the same level of quality? The chain says burger fans can find out at participating locations nationwide from May 23 to July 31. Prices start at just $5.99, but may vary by location.

Saw these at lunch today and tried the bacon ranch one. Was pretty good for a fast food chain burger I dig it namely with the parm pepper ranch.
Tried both. The deluxe is better than the bacon ranch imo. Both good!
They should do a "smoke house " version with brisket on the burger and crispy onions with bbq sauce.

For the same price, I got a really great burger about 6 months ago at the Outback, and it came with fries!

@@jaybeazy4978 if I may I suggest that arby's will have udi's gluten free burger buns, and dairy free cheese slices for the beef lettuce onions tomatoes, pickles, and bacon with ketchup, and mayo, and also gluten free bread for the roast beef, and dairy free cheese slices, and also blackened chicken tenders.
That looks like and sounds like a great burger. The deep fried sounds scary to me. Only because I want to reduce my consumption of fried foods. Have you ever heard/tried the Dyers Burgers? They have been deep frying burgers over 100 years. They strain the oil each day and season it and open the doors to deep fry burgers. They have been reusing the oil for over 100 years. No Deluxe with tomato, lettuce, Avocado etc. Mustard, Cheese, Pickle, onion, pepper only. Story is if you want a salad, go next door. !!!! Only one shop on Beale Street in Memphis. Probably not in your area of interest for this channel, but would be cool if you did a pilgrimage to there.
Him saying it is deep fried is just wrong. They sous vide it which has nothing to do with frying.

NOT deep fried from what I read. It’s cooked Sous Vide style, meaning the patty is cooked in a vacuum-sealed pouch and heated slowly at a precise temperature in a water bath.
Arbys always doing things right! They are my favourite fast food place. Luckily for me there is one left in Nova Scotia. lol Yours looked better than the jellyfish looking burger Big Ben received.

Ok, tried the deluxe version Memorial Day. Very juicy very good burger the patty was thick it's the biggest single burger in a fast food joint I've ever had. It's very very moist just be prepared for that & a little sloppy so use extra napkins but that's kind of what I like so if you like a dry Burger this one isn't for you. I paid $5.99 plus tax in Tennessee
Im definitly going to try that burger next month with just the cheese, the burger sauce and pickles no lettuce, no red onion, no tomato.

I had the Bacon Ranch version and had them add the Burger Suace to it, and it was really good. Is it the best ever? No. But it has good flavor, it's quite large, the bun and toppings are really good (leaf lettuce would be better,) and it's a good price ($5.99) for how big it is (6.5 ounces before cooking!) It's definitely in the 75-90 range (7.5-9 on a 10 scale) depending on personal preferences, but for their first ever burger and how it's made, it's surprisingly in the upper tier. Some have mentioned in comments here and elsewhere that they should make a Smokehouse version, and if they were, I'd get it on the 3 days I do weight training. Thanks for this! ~Be Blessed

I heard that they prepare it "Sous Vide" style, then when you mentioned deep fried. I'm wondering if they do a combination of both, precook from frozen using Sous Vide, then flash it in the deep fryer to get the edges crispy. I was curious how they made this since they have no grills. My biggest fear was that they would nuke it in the microwave.
The burgers arrive frozen then are tempered and only deep fried for about 2 minutes.
The microwave is the best way to cook a burger.

We found the dry, tough, and tasteless here in Western KY. Since this is their first day, we're hoping that they will do a better job with the burgers later on. I think they burned ours.....it was def. overcooked.

And they're there is a video out there from a couple weeks ago from a guy talking about these and he mentions that exactly. Comes partially cooked and then deep fried. I really doubt Arby's spent that kind of money on burger meat but I'm sure a lot of people will try it thinking they will be getting true wagyu beef it's a nice publicity stunt I'm sure they will sell a few before people find out the truth that it's just ground beef

Watch the commercial and looked delicious. Went to Arby's and ordered it and received the most descusting burger I've ever bought. Took one bite almost puked and threw it away. It looked nothing like the ones advertised.

The sauce is mediocre, the bun is okay, a better tasting bun should have graced this Burger. And "American Cheese"! Really, that crap isn't even like real cheese. Real sliced cheddar, or Colby, or Monterey Jack, anything else. But the burger meat is very, very good. Not "$6.00 for the cheapest version good", though. I'd be buying these like mad if they were $4.50. However, for ten bucks I can have lunch at the "Golden Corral", all that I care to eat, including salads bakery items, fruit, and even steak and fish.

It's cooked off site .. then delivered to the restaurant. And they have to finish cooking it. So they deep fry it to finish it. This is info from an arbys general manager and the employee that handed me the bag reiterated it to me. Comes to them sous vide. Think about it. Arbys is not dropping all these burgers in bags inv water in every restaurant in the Country. Lol

Arby's claims the meat is 50% AMERICAN wagyu and 48% "ground beef"...I'd guess the missing 2% is a conglomerate of preservatives. MOST American/Australian wagyu are from cows that are bred from 1 Japanese wagyu parent and 1 American/Australian cow parent, which is usually Black Angus. Now, Arby's on the other hand can source their version of "American wagyu" from wherever the fuck they want since "American Wagyu" is not a solidified, specific term. What I'm trying to say is whatever Arby's is claiming to be "Wagyu" is most certainly either an extremely watered down version, or something different all together.

Inexpensive for "Wagyu." Must still be blended with regular beef. Costco sells wagyu for $60 a pound.
If you look closer it says it’s blended with regular beef and he says it’s blended as well.
Also can be fat which in excess is cut off a lot of wagyu so they could have used 80% lean cut beef and 20% wagyu fat which with wagyu being 50/50 on fat percent it makes sense

Let's not forget it's precooked, the shredded lettuce is annoying, the sauce cheapens it ...and the combo meal set me back $10 bucks!
The crinkle cut fries sucked! Stick to their curly fries! And their fountain Sodas are watered down.....Not enough taste, it doesn't taste grilled, or charbroiled it's kind of bland. Meat is okay, best part was the bun, the tomatoes, Onion and pickle slices... I just had one Today! Oh yeah , the cheese was unidentifiable....I don't think I'm going back for 10 buck$!!!!

Their website & app say it’s “Wagyu blend”. That means it could have like a morsel of Wagyu in it and the rest could be regular beef (although he said it’s 52/48 blend, so that would be good!). I imagine the Wagyu they’re using is American Wagyu because Japanese Wagyu is so expensive! Plus it’s almost a crime to take Japanese Wagyu and top it with American cheese and Thousand Island sauce!
Screw fast food. Its all evil.
