Y'all need to chill out and quit being the youtube safety hall monitors. You have no idea what he did beforehand to prepare for this video. There's probably quite a bit of behind the camera preparation that he put into it, and we don't see. Not to mention he's a highly experienced operator of planes, paramotors, and paragliders. Then there's the fact that he only made it 3 feet off the ground... Look at all the facts before you decide to post your "Im an aviation safety expert" drama.

@@mtoutflying3926 sorry but if you know anything about paramotoring you’ll know this was dangerous.. ok so his prop was hardly big enough to be a leaf blower..... but it would of done him some serious damage if his hand got dragged into it ( which only luck prevented at the end ).. If you are trying to say this was a carefully set up spoof.... I’m going to respectfully disagree 😕

@Jonas Marcinko when I first started following you. You seemed to have it together. It seems that you are taking flying more like a joke and taking risks just to make content. Seems to me just a little more caution would save you money in the long run and most likey keep you from injuring yourself and/ or Sylvia in the future. I wish you the best of luck and hope to see more sensible fun in the future from you.

Gave me a slight heart attack seeing you do a run up while holding the frame, that’s a very fast way to loose some finger or even worse. Whenever the motors on it should be on your back, I’ve seen far too many videos of small mistakes leading to very bloody endings. Please get proper training if you plan on flying in the future, this video was very scary to watch and unsafe on many levels.
Give Him a frickin brake come we all make mistakes and we all learn from our mistakes and I hope he learns from that mistake.

BIG SAFETY QUESTION!!! Are the caribeaners that are connecting the paraglider to the chair ALSO connected to your harness? THEY SHOULD BE! If your chair suffers a catostrophic failure, like if a weld breaks you want that paraglider to be hooked to your harness. Not the chair. Or at least to both. Of course it only matters if you get the thing off the ground. LOL

You need a larger propeller for more thrust. It would definitely give you more lifting power.

Fortunately nothing happened, but basic safety precautions are never overkill, like having a simple net that would prevent your hand from getting destroyed by the prop if anything went just slightly wrong. I'm all for experimenting, I'm sure you'd agree your hand and your arm are worth more than a TH-cam video... Plus, this may give the wrong message, right one would be, experimenting is fine, but it should be done safely. That aside, your videos are great!!!

I think you'd better just work on fixing your airplane.
You do need some kind of exhaust outlet pipe even if it does not have a muffler. Otherwise, cold air will get into the combustion chamber and warp the valves. I would estimate that you should have at least a 12 inch exhaust pipe. You can make it with a sharp bend so that it does not hit the prop.

@@JonasMarcinko I figured that you would, and that you would use your Lithuanian ingenuity to accomplish the task. I am Lithuanian myself and I come from the Pavilionis family from Taurage. Actually, I am going to be a grandfather in May and if it is a boy, my daughter is planning to name him Jonas to preserve our Lithuanian heritage.

Consider ordering a stage 2 or stage 3 kit for the 212cc, should make a big difference in power output.
He’s the blade mounted direct drive with no gear reduction. Tons of torque with not enough rpm’s
@@benedictcumberbatch4275some 26 lb valve springs will let it rev well into 7500 rpm. I built one of these motors for a minibike and it ripped!! Billet flywheel is a must at that point

if u have flown on the wing b4, the problem is not with the wing. u need a bigger prop and a different motor that can turn the prop at higher rpms. u have insufficient thrust. MAYBE not enough wind either. but id be forever more concerned about getting those lines tangled in that puny little prop. it might also be that the prop lacks the right geometry for thrust.

You did it, but it was not enough power from the engine, although you could show that with that little force you would be able to take off. Congratulations, if you start making another one and with a little more power, you would surely fly well. I would use a slightly more solid frame and a minimum 15 hp motor.

Jonas,,,I have a r/c 47lb half scale biplane with a 16.5 hp engine with a 30-12 prop on it.
With that said I think you need a bigger engine, and chute.
If you rebuild that (I hope you don't), at least put a net on the front side of that cage. That will prevent your risers or more importantly, your body parts from getting in the prop.

What prop did you use? This looks like a fun project.
Not a fail... just a lesson on and for improvement.
Lighter flywheel and a timing key would help power wise, you can milk a little more rpm from those engines too but you need to change the valve springs for reliability

I don't normally do the "Safety Lecture" thing... but Jonas, that thing is all sorts of death on a silver platter. You nearly lost your hand! Also, when you first started it and revved it your gloved hand was on the top of the seat... if it slipped your arm would have gone straight into the prop! I'm not saying to stop doing it, but make sure your safety stuff is on point before you do something you can't come back from. I need more fun videos from you and Sylvia. Also, some of those motors depend on a muffler to create a little useful back-pressure. Not sure if it's the case with this HF monstrosity, but check into it.

Jonas, I love your videos and I know you aren't terribly scared of doing some sketchy shit, but everything about this video had me genuinely worried. I was thrilled to see that you didn't actually get airborne with that contraption because it probably wouldn't have ended well. You're super lucky that your hand and arm didn't get sucked into the prop when your lines got in there because of your plastic "cage" that might as well not even be there. I'd love to see you do paramotor flights too, but please destroy that thing immediately and get yourself a proper one first. Oh, and don't ground start them like that either, you're asking for trouble. Definitely do a collaboration with Tucker Gott or Kyle O'glee, it would be a fun video and they would get you on the right track.
