I had the same reaction to the coffee wine (mead?) that I had made. It was definitely in the "okay" category, but not something I would rush out to make again. One of my guests liked it and I gave her the rest of the bottle. I had used cold brew coffee (I didn't see a link to the original video to know if you used cold brew or not). Overall, I consider it a successful experiment -- I learned something.
I used a hot brew method: th-cam.com/video/PjMXiQD-Z_8/w-d-xo.html Once I learned that you could make wine from practically anything, why not experiment around and show people what the end results could be.
Thanks for the recipe.👍 I'm going to adjust the lemon down a bit and back sweeten with chocolate syrup 😁 Maybe try grinding the coffee beans for more coffee flavor 😋 👍😁❤️
I'm wondering if you would get more coffee flavor if you slightly cracked the coffee beans first? My husband had the same reaction to coffee that he roasted and ground himself. I suggested cracking the beans a bit more and he tried it again and it was perfect. But I love anything coffee flavor so I'm definitely going to try this 😊
Lol!! Your lips are saying; it's okay, but your facial expression says more like; it doesn't suck! 😂 Same thing with my coffee mead. You're right tho, if I ever try this again I'll probably use some good instant coffee and a fair amount of it too!
Such pallid praise, you have damned it so gently.
I had to Google pallid.
@@DIYFermentation I knew the first definition but when I checked after seeing your reply I felt the second one fit even better.
Those expressions you make is priceless! I knew with that alone how you felt!😂
I believe that's why people watch my tasting videos.
@@DIYFermentation 🤣
The faces my dad gives me lol
Very cool! Thanks for the video!
Glad you liked it!

Thanks for the tip!
Really waiting for the watermelon wine tasting. Would be interesting to try it at home.
That one is coming up soon. I almost started to bottle it but decided that it need just a bit more clearing.
@@DIYFermentation glad to hear that!
Thanks for the honest review. Guess I’ll stick to more traditional flavors. If I’m waiting a year to drink something it had better be great lol
It's tough sometimes the wait a year for only one gallon, but sometimes you're glad that it's only one gallon and not 5, 10, etc...
@@DIYFermentation I wonder how it tastes warm
Do you think that by letting the beans in the fermenter, you would have a stronger coffee taste or it's just a bad idea?
Sorry, I don't know.

Thank you for your comment.
I'm wondering whether both coffee and tea wines retain their caffeine content after fermentation?
I have no way of determining that.
