I think you can also detect the pyramid when you see an oddly bulked up sad without the housing detection tool, cuz looking back at the vod, it looked odd how a sad is that massive
@@fishbones3650 ehh, _sometimes_ that works, I find. Sometimes the worldgen just trolls you and make a suspicious-looking mound without anything actually underneath.
I am in awe of how well Haboo explains things, let alone focus on a speedrun and end up with a really good time! Even a terraria noob like me understood most, if not all of what he said. That takes a lot of talent. 👏 So proud of habobo. Also, Plantera fight at 1:18:30 is hilarious
TheHaboo was and still is one of my big reasons for starting to stream- during one of my very first streams, he gave me a raid and I was so flabbergasted!
This was a pretty neat run. I tend to prefer glitchless/glitch-light runs and this particular category works. Appreciated Haboo explaining the game mechanics as he was working with them, because it's stuff that can even help out more in casual runs. And he had some solid execution and usage of those mechanics, so it made for a very chill time. Solid display of skill, knowledge, and composure.
I'd considered just vibrating at Skeletron with a cart in this update after seeing so many things just evaporate bumping into me while I was horsing around, but seeing it validated like this is just cool.
wish i had this talent of speedrunning a game and explaining exactly what you're doing at the same time, and doing it so that even people that don't play the game understand it all
using the housing menu to find pyramids... that spawnpoint strat with the sand... the nebula pillar cheese and moon lord cheese... using junction boxes to place blocks midair without an ice rod... and of course, that strat for killing the later bosses, especially plantera... very very very awesome
What a pleasant surprise to see Haboo here! Used to watch a lot of his Stardew Valley speedruns and had no idea he also runs Terraria, time to watch it :)
I love how RE-LOGIC is actively supporting their community and their streams. What a wholesome thing and maybe thats why i love Terraria even back then it was released
This game has always been one of my favorites, awesome to see it at GDQ! Great run by Haboo, and he's right, I know him from his Stardew content haha, keep it up.
Fantastic, loved it. First terraria speed run I watched. Quick funny note: "I'm gonna shimmer melee emblem to ranger", proceeds with melee without effort:)
I have used the minecarts in the past, even before 1.4, and it's surprising to me that it's now got a use in hardmode. I always thought, when I enter hardmode, I would need to step up the minecart game, and actually fight mobs without chesse-strats, because my armor wouldn't be enough.
I'm enjoying this vod but that section where he builds an arena in the dark so he can kill the worm boss off screen is hilarious. It might as well be a speedrun podcast. Maybe use a torch even if suboptimal for the viewing experience? lawls
watching speed runs like these always make me feel stupid when i play terraria specifically because i'm so casual about it and sometimes struggle to find shit lol
The other cool thing with pyramids, is that they're one of the few places you can just pop down some blocks and furniture, and have a house without having to worry about whether or not you add background walls. You can even use just platforms, if you only want 3 or 4 rooms. Or if you want to cram as many NPCs in there is you can, you can use a layer of regular blocks and make a little 5 to 6 room suite - 2 rooms on top (maybe 3), and 3 or 4 rooms on the bottom. The trade off seems it would be, either 3 really fast rooms, or 5 pretty fast rooms. ;)
It may just have been due to a mod or so. But I've had a time where Wall of Flesh spawned opposite of me when I was at the edge of the world, so he just insta killed me
Using the housing tooltip to find a pyramid is genius
Totally. Like, this is so useful, because they're so rare
I think you can also detect the pyramid when you see an oddly bulked up sad without the housing detection tool, cuz looking back at the vod, it looked odd how a sad is that massive

I love how this guy takes his time to explain what he's doing, even if that means to pause the speedrun. I hope to see him in GDQ again soon :)
I also recommend his Stardew valley world record
That's what is usually the difference between a GDQ run and a speedrun
Haboo coming in clutch finishing what couldn't be done 2 years ago! Glad we could finally see Terraria ran to completion at GDQ!
I'm out of the loop. What didn't happen 2 years ago? (only 20min in, if this is addressed I apologize).
@@13groulx The first time Terraria was featured on GDQ the runner was so unlucky that he couldn't finish the run
Ngl, the fact he failed so spectacularly made Badger's run even more legendary.
Haboo has been trying to get on GDQ for quite some time, glad to see his submissions finally got him on!
Love a speedrunner who knows how to communicate what he is doing. This is great!
The loading screen is fun to read through... Like "Placing dirt after dirt", "Putting rocks into dirt", "Putting dirt in the rocks"...

I love stories like those dude. Keep it up too !
Such amazing commentary WHILE speedrunning his ass off! Definitely one of the top runs of this years AGDQ

Terraria is one of my favorite games of all time. Seeing this on GDQ is so cool and the runner is very cool too. Nice one
Nice to see Haboo get featured on GDQ. Been watching him on Stardew for a while and he is ridiculously smart
Awesome run! The runner was really good at explaining all the game mechanics in work. I love watching this style of run
Glad TH-cam allows me to see these great GDQ runs I missed this year! Wonderful!
amazing run aside i gotta say that was a really smooth dono reader, very soothing listening to them!
THE KING
Glad to see a run of one of my favorite games of all times!
Unlucky plantera, but awesome strats I never seen before, really cool!
I'd considered just vibrating at Skeletron with a cart in this update after seeing so many things just evaporate bumping into me while I was horsing around, but seeing it validated like this is just cool.

1:04:14 Re-Logic donation, for those interested
That Plantera strat is hilarious lol. Always fought it with teleporters on both sides of an alleyway, luring it into gunfire.
Amazing run! I'm so happy for Haboo he got to do AGDQ, even though it isn't his main game :)
One of my favourite games, theres so many variable in the game that it makes each run unique and fun to watch
Amazing run. That Plantera strat was hilarious.
great flag

this guy seems so genuine and nice, loved the energy in this run :)
This came at a really good time as my brother-in-law and I recently started a new Master Mode play through. Very nice!
Watched this live. I never played Terraria but the run and commentary by Haboo were really fun to watch
What a pleasant surprise to see Haboo here! Used to watch a lot of his Stardew Valley speedruns and had no idea he also runs Terraria, time to watch it :)
Haboo is a Legend. Love lurking over on his twitch!! Awesome run man!!!
Thank you to everyone who made this event possible. 💙🤟
I was about to sleep but then I saw a terraria speedrun. There we go..
Super impressive! Learned a lot about the game and speedrunning as well. Great commentary!
I love how RE-LOGIC is actively supporting their community and their streams. What a wholesome thing and maybe thats why i love Terraria even back then it was released
FINALLY my favorite game of ALL TIME returns to AGDQ!!!
@1:02:00
did haboo lose time by explaining this to us ?
Is this the first time Terraria has been seen on AGDQ since Labor of Love? I hope to see Shimmer being used!
Brilliant. well executed, theHaboo is such a nice guy
Nice luck on the recall potions, huh :V I've gotten plenty of chests in big trees that didn't have those.
Another great run from this GDQ!
This game has always been one of my favorites, awesome to see it at GDQ! Great run by Haboo, and he's right, I know him from his Stardew content haha, keep it up.
1:26:50 the only death in the run and it was to getting too comfortable.
This guy's pretty cool, glad to have such an informative vid
That fall was heartbreaking!
The way he communicates reminds me of some of my favorite teachers and professors that I had over the years.
Cool run, makes me wanna redownload and play it again(for real this time). :)
Great run! Loved it!
I'm loving this mic quality! What mic do you use Haboo?
didn't think I'd see terraria at GDQ again but I'm all for it!
Haboo exposing his inner GOAT at 1:37:40
i remember doing records many times way back the days of 1.2 and when 1.3 came out too...man those were the days...
Fantastic, loved it. First terraria speed run I watched. Quick funny note: "I'm gonna shimmer melee emblem to ranger", proceeds with melee without effort:)
damn i didn't know locating shimmer is like finding a date based on zodiac signs
I really loved how Haboo explained everything. I've been playing Terraria casually a lot of time and i've learned a lot in this run.
This is what we should be doing, Lets speedrun thought and wisdom!
All my homies love terraria
Oh that pyramid trick is smart & def going to use it!!! Thanks for sharing it 👍
wooooooooo my guy congrats!
I love how this run finishes with "I'm sorry I ranted" lmao
I spend hours making my hell bridge even though I don't need to, one day I'll just do it quickly. Great run Haboo, and the team from GDQ!
Haboo was a great commentator, I thoroughly enjoyed this run ^-^
this was a blast to watch!

Whan Haboo is mining upwards in the jungle, he only mines 1 block in width. How is this possible? 1:15:02
Correct me if I’m wrong but using a hook you can squeeze through 1 block gaps
I'm enjoying this vod but that section where he builds an arena in the dark so he can kill the worm boss off screen is hilarious. It might as well be a speedrun podcast. Maybe use a torch even if suboptimal for the viewing experience? lawls
love watching haboo! glad to see him playing terraria
I havent seen many terraria videos seeing this makes me happy
So funny on 5:30 he stops to explain to show us how to find a pyramid
ayo. cool game moment
"No more major glitches"
Philosophers stone: 🙂
never knew haboo made terraria
Great run!
Wonderful job :)
48:50 how the hell is that a valid house?
"Ooh: Legendary, good prefix." Also, casually gains one of the best modifiers for a melee weapon in the game . . .
I gotta say, to the donor "Hylian Competent", what a great name!
This was a really cool run.
2 days late but thanks for a speed run of one of my favorite games :)
Awesome run
Fave run of gdq
watching speed runs like these always make me feel stupid when i play terraria specifically because i'm so casual about it and sometimes struggle to find shit lol
Stardew Valley Trials Champion, Terraria speedrunner…what can’t this man do?
What an awesome speedrun
bro this guys finds hearts and chests like 5 times more often than I do dang!
1:07:22 LMAO WTF
This run is so different now, makes me wanna pick it up casually again so badly
this guy is a god, hes doing this all while talking

theyre still updating this game???? the shimmer is awesome
And im still stucked at the Mechanical Bosses :|
POG!!~!!
I haven''t played in over 5 years it is time!
1:17:39 his expression lmao
i love how he runs out of voice when he says he will be using exploits.
It may just have been due to a mod or so. But I've had a time where Wall of Flesh spawned opposite of me when I was at the edge of the world, so he just insta killed me
nice
WOOOOAH
No comments? Don't mind me sliding in here! Awesome run!
Congratz Haboo! Those are very neat strategies!
44:56 screw that bunny in particular
