One of the best fights I have ever seen. Congratulations to both fighters
I do think this fight in 83 and his last fight before this in late 82 finished Bobby. They were two killer back to back fights. These fights ruined Chacon for his bridge to far fight with Mancin in early 84 🥊
Thank you for showing these great fights
I saw this fight when it actually happened! Great stuff! Lord is Chacon tough!
Always was.
Wow, talk about "showing up", these guys are great athletes!!! Very entertaining fight.
Bobby Chacon always left it all in the ring. One of the most exciting fighters of that era. He paid a terrible price for the style he fought. It was sad the way it all ended for him but he did it his way.
Bobby Chacon and Bazooka Limon that was one of the greatest championship fights I’ve ever witnessed. Boxing Experts don’t give Bobbys Chicone a lot of credit he was masterful with his legs he could move in and out he remind me of the times of Willie pep without movement on his legs took too much punishment but boy was he an all-time great I would’ve bought a ticket anytime! Rest in peace Bobby you’ll never be forgotten!
Greatest fight of all time
😊
What. A. Fight. What a couple of warriors. Bobby Chacon was one of the reasons I got into the ring.
Both great competitors and gentlemen

the Limon fight the year before was one of the greatest-and this was the best I've seen ever-until 2016 watched a replay of Ward-Gatti 1....terrible what happened to Bobby, and incredible that Arguello would stop both of them yet lose to Vilomar Fernandez
Cornelius Boza Edwards was a monster
His hand power
His relentlessness
Its puzzling no one mentions this man
A true competitor a champion and a gentleman
Chacon doesn't get the credit he deserves for being such an incredible warrior. He deserves all the credit in the world for how much he gave of himself.
Man...sometimes Boza just couldn’t help himself. There were guys he could have easily outboxed from the outside-like Chacon-but he was always willing to get down in the trenches and go to war...even when he didn’t have to.
And we all love him the more for it. I dislike SRL but I started respecting him for the way he found against Duran the first time.
Parker Thomas Very true. One thing about Boza: you can’t say that he was EVER in a boring fight. Even when Macho Camacho ran from him for 11 rounds, we knew there was a very REAL possibility that Boza could detonate some TNT on Macho’s chin in the 12th.
Bobby Chacon was a legend. What a fighter ! The crowd was always loved Bobby. Real superstar ! Made you proud .
What a war between these two great fighters. Current boxing is a joke compared to this classic fight. Boxing has been watered down! Bobbi Chacon and Bazooka Limón were exciting boxers to watch!
Great fight but the scorecards were a disgrace. No problem with Chacon winning. I scored 113-112 Boza but the margins of victory were an insult to Boza. Magnificent fight though and a great era with Limon, Navarette, Boza and Chacon.
Bobby Chacón was one of the most courageous fighters I have ever seen, this was an awesome fight indeed
Chacon had balls of steel. Gatti, Ward, and Saad Muhammad also. This was regular TV! These guys deserve ppv $ more than the shit u see today like Jake Paul.
I watched this live in my buddy's awesome basement-a friend I sparred with looked exactly like Boza-love the name and a great fighter....read about Bobby's wife comitting suicide, saw the first fight too....wait this was a non title fight? Fight of the decade I love both these guys....we got to see great gladitorial warriors- Valorie loses her life and poor Bobby gets dementia and dies young
Jackie McCoy was a stablemate of my Dad back in the 1940s and all my family were at this fight. Jackie apologized to us before the fight for working Boza Edwards corner as his cut man. Dad said, that's ok Jackie, a job is a job. It was the last time they saw each other. Jackie told me he could not believe how hard a puncher my Dad was with a flabby body and skinny arms. Dad retired 31-0.
The second half of this fight has some of the most embarrassing commentary I've ever heard. I understand caring for a boxer and if I had had the power, I'd probably stop the fight somewhere around the 8th. But it wasn't stopped, and they doubled down on the narrative that Chacon had nothing left. Called Chacon's punches in the final rounds "lucky". Those punches were intentional, he wasn't throwing wildly.
In the post fight interview Pacheco admitted they were wrong.
The “Fright Doctor” in fine form. Ferdie Pacheco always seemed to forget that he was a witness to a violent sport like boxing. These dudes were warriors!
Indeed. My dad always felt like the "Fright Doctor" was in the wrong line of business (would go on to comment, florist maybe?). Anyway, what I thought striking is neither Marv or Fright mentioned the great bodywork that Chacon would periodically commit to. You could sometimes see Edwards cringe slightly from those shots. Nonetheless, an absolute war and a toughness from two guys that is rarely seen.
Sitting here watching a fight that happened nearly 40 years ago, and even though I knew both the outcome of the match and the fact that Chacon's brain was gradually turning into pudding from beatings like this, it still kept me watching until the last bell. These were a couple of hard fighters
Uno dei match più belli di sempre...se il coraggio avesse avuto un nome, era Bobby Chacon
They say that one punch can change a man, but when you take the amount of punishment these guys gave each other, it's no wonder they enter senility at an early age. God bless both of these guys. RIP Bobby.
Be honest, who thinks bosa won. I do. Great warriors. Rip to all the greats❤❤
You had to have been there to see that Chacon won. Boza was all flocked up.
Alexis Arquello the greatest super feather weight of the 20 century
Now that’s boxing . Fighters today should take note of this fight. This is a Caveman’s fight.
A CLASSIC. The casuals have no idea about this fight.
1.47min, and were past the halfway point 4thrd. Scheduled for 12😂😂😂😂
A twelve round war! but I cant understand how they scored it! Boza actualy won the the fight
This should have been a WBC Super Feather Weight tittle defence now held by Bobby Chacon ? I wonder why this wasent a WBC defence anyone 🤔 ?.
Chacon was stripped for failing to defend against Hector Camacho. Basically, Chacon was stitched up by the WBC/Jose Sulaimain and Don King. Camacho ended up beating Bazooka Limon for the vacant WBC strap and this went ahead as a 12 round non-title bout. Chacon sued but ended up moving up to lightweight to challenge Ray Mancini. I highly recommend Christian Guidice's book 'Macho Time' which covers this whole era brilliantly. Or see Camacho-Limon on youtube where they explain the situation in the build up to the fight (far better than I can!)
Someone will have to let me know if there's a more entertaining fight than this one because I don't think there is.
Coach Strout, are you aware that you have uploaded Chacon v Limon 4 on the end of this Boza fight?
bruce lee haha. I guess it’s a bonus
Boza started in white trunks but by the end they were red
That's funny how they said he was gonna lose
They're both fighting good
That knocked down G****** the fight
My god😨.....I wonder if either Chacon or Boza-Edwards even have the power of speech today
.......punch drunk.
Bobby suffered from dementia pugilistica (boxer's syndrome). The guy had the heart of a Lion, but defence wise, he took far too many punches. What a fighter tho. He sadly died in 2016.
Boza was last seen training fighter not long ago
Happily, you could not be more wrong about Boza. He runs marathons (aged 63) with his daughter and helped manage the Mayweather gym until retiring very recently. A real success story. A successful businessman even then when he was champion too.
Happily you didnt need to be smart alec
Thet boxing programs dont do documentaries on this man
Obviously hes is healthy and sound
@@terrytyler3139 Yeah, Boza-E is okay today.....CHACON is not okay. Watch anything on him from 2000-Now.......It's fuckin' terrible to see how bad he's affected.
Kiss kiss kiss Bobby C
I thought Boza won tbh..if anything a draw
Boza was robbed.
Boza was mad dirty in this fight... elbows forearms head. Not a fighter I was fond of
