Also, goofy as it is, this is easily my favorite rendition of Gotham. Giant impractical ultra gothic architecture, statues holding up skyscrapers, districts with totally different feels to them...it feels like a 70s Batman comic, what can I say? Takes me back to being ten years old reading comics with my dad in the kitchen.
I had seen a lot of 80s Arnold movies before this, as a kid, (predator, commando, etc.) and so I knew how huge Arnold was and I always thought it was weird that he was cast as Mr. Freeze instead of Bane.... but I’m very glad he was chosen to deliver all those ice puns 😂 10/10 would recommend
It's funny that this was almost concurrent with Batman, the Animated series, which people loved. And that wasn't a "gritty" Batman, but still a series that was telling some mature and thoughtful stories. So it didn't really kill Batman. Some say it killed Superhero Movies until Batman Begins, but even that is debatable if you're counting Blade, which came out in 1998.
