You know, finally getting my hands on this game, I gotta say I'm damn pleased.
You know that feeling of when you're REALLY hungry and then you finally take a bite of ravioli?
Well I got this feeling with The Last of Us. I didn't eat it, or pour red sauce over the top of the disc, but I was able to finally sink my teeth into the game that's been tweaking my interests for the past few years.
And I have to say it was well worth the wait. Not weight. I'm not making a Gaben joke; though it IS tempting.
This is going to be an insane ride.

Seriously though, who WOULDN'T want Cry to be the voice of every audio book ever? Or at least be the voice in your head- the narrator of your life;

8 years ago, a 12 year old me after a long summer day. Watched this. And enjoyed it. And i used to watch you constantly. And i don't know why. Besides the controversy, and the things you did cry. But I still watch this series from time to time...to think....and remember the good of you. Wherever you are. Cry. I hope you fix things. And find happiness. I'm not defending your actions I'm just simply hoping you learned and became better. The kid in me wishes the best for the person who entertained him through the awkward years in life. I'm rewatching now to get ready for the HBO series. I will never forget The Cat Lady Series & Rose. I watched both of those when I painted my room for the first time, by myself. I was maybe 13. I slept in a metal frame hammock in the middle of the room, opened a window, turn out the lights, lit my black bamboo candle and turned on those. Every time i smell that candle I'm taken back to that room. The pewds and cry vids made me laugh in a dark time in my life. I remember cry even answered one of my fan emails I sent. he was so nice. I hope he's healed. and learned, and changed. I hope everyone involved has found peace with the aftermath. I hope they're all well.

Second time watching Cry's play through of this. I literally CAN'T watch anyone else play this. It's the same for The Walking Dead. Cry is the only one that seems to take it seriously enough, with just the right hint of humor. He gets the ambiance of it and sticks to it. I just freaking love Cry.
This is the first video of Cryaotic that I've watched. Seriously, I've never seen a TH-camr who was so much 'in the game'. Damn, I think I should subscribe to him...he's really awesome so far.

We hate how things ended. Both for that game and this chanel.
This and Bioshock, my all time favorite gameplay videos. Cryaotic, favorite player. I don't know what happened and I don't want to know, I'll just relive the fun and hope the best for Cry.

This is like the 13th time I have either watched a Lets Play or played this game and I still cried. The writers for this game, as well as the actors, especially the actress for Sarah, we're all outstanding.
The beginning bit mirrors how a situation like this would realistically go down , everything would be chaos, people dying and cars crashing trying to escape.
The opening literally says "I'm taking no prisoners."

Im very late to this comment but oh well. I thinks that's because Joel ends up caring for Ellie like she was his own daughter. Because he very clearly doesn't want her getting hurt, no matter the situation.

I like how Cry waits till the game characters are done talking to comment on what's going on. Most TH-camrs will mainly talk the whole time while the characters are talking plus Cry just has a fucking great voice. By far Cry is one of the best TH-camrs that I've heard of.

Huh... I always thought of Joel and Tess as just business partners, friends, and maybe lovers, but when you think about it she may also have been filling the daughter-shaped hole in Joel’s life. Thanks for pointing that out, cause I never really thought about it.
i watched this and many other of crys playthroughs over and over but in light of recent events its hard to go back to any of these again. its heartbreaking to know the things hes done and said to people.

The Walking Dead had me tearing up by the end of season 1. The Last of Us has me tearing up in the first 15 minutes.
I like how we barely even know Sarah and we cry for her.

For the soldier - what if Sarah WAS infected and by letting them go, they were able to get to a camp/somewhere safe where she infected all the people there (including many more kids I'm sure)? That soldier just saw absolute pandemonium and was surely under a lot of pressure. He couldn't take the risk of letting more people die for the sake of one little girl - not to mention being under direct orders from a superior.
Sometimes the harsh methods are the only way. There was no way he could have held them in confinement or diagnose them in that mess.

His superiors saw pandemonium. His superiors gave him orders. The soldier tried to protest. "Sir, there's a little girl." You can hear the panic and regret in the soldier's voice. He didn't want to kill them at all.

He was an awsome mix of comedy and feels that makes you understand why he is number 1..... but lately i've been checking cry out, and in Ori he was far more down to earth than his nutty buddy, which made him a better youtuber for that emotional videogame.... so now i'm here not to watch the game, but to watch cry play it.... anyone else around for a similar reason?

My God, this guy has a better voice than Morgan Freeman. Sue me, but I'm serious. He sounds like a completely mature person (Which I LOVE because it's so rare on TH-cam) and he talks so calmly and doesn't stutter at all so he sounds like he's reading a script, which is music to my ears.

for the people complaining about how its not possible to see an explosion on tv then see it seconds after in real life:
if you look closely, a tiny bit before Sarah turns away from the window, you can see two billows of smoke, obviously there were two explosions, just a little away from each other.

Hi everyone. Just want you guys to know that if you're watching this you probably looked for it like me. I have so many great memories to this series and I'm rewatching it again. I fr downloaded all the yt videos in this series because I want to forever keep this moment in time in my memories, not only Cry but also the way I felt when I was exploring The Last of Us... Now years and years later it's finally been released cross platform and the series that was supposed to come actually came. Luckiy for us the series was great, and we all still remember gamers like Cry that put us onto this game. It's a moment of internet history tbh

And hesitated. Kids obvious the person told him to shoot them anyway. If he was never given the command to do so Sarah would still be alive.

I'm coming back to watch this series again in 2017 because I love this series so much... I watched several other TH-camrs play it... but with this one I actually get immersed and feel like I'm in their world. I love it so much...
Oh God, that pain in Sarah's voice...those little cries just destroy me. She's just a baby...I hated this part so much. I nearly turned the game off I was so unnerved by how awful that death was.

I like cry for very many reasons.
1. He doesn’t talk over the characters speech, ever. Unless he’s screaming in pain because one of the main characters died (god damnit lee)
2. He has a soul and even if I don’t agree with his choices sometimes (very rarely) and all the choices he makes turns out really good for the storyline.
3. He’s a really funny guy and he can make jokes about anything, that’s what I like the most.
4. His voice is really soothing when he talks
5. He does really good horror narratives and gameplays

This game is in my top five for a lot of reasons, but that beginning is the biggest reason. It grips you and really gets you invested in Joel's character. I come back to this playthrough whenever i'm in the mood for a good story with a vibrant and thoughtful world setting. This game pulls you in and makes you feel like you're actually a survivor of the "end of the world as we know it", trapped between several different threats. You have the intimidating military state bearing over you like king's over peasants. The obvious danger of 'clickers' and the infection itself. Even your fellow man can rarely be trusted because you don't know whose desperate and whose just plain evil taking advantage of the state of the world to be vile monsters. The characters are all so fleshed out and well thought through. The voice actors bring that extra level of depth to really make all of the characters 3-dimensional. The art and the style of the Last of Us is so enchanting and sucks you into a fully immersed state, that by the time the game ends you're left shell-shocked and left reeling about the last scene. What did Elli mean? How are we supposed to take that one word: "Okay."?
Also, to make a long post longer, which I'm sure no one will read anyway because of how old this series is(lol): Cry adds so much to this, too! I played this game myself a before seeing Cry was uploading a walkthrough of it. I had been subscribed to him since Amnesia days(I feel old lol) and was thrilled to see him play the Last of Us, because I knew Cry would have an interesting perspective of this harsh and unforgiving world. I wanted to see which characters he'd connect with, which ones he liked, hated, pushed his idea of what he thought was a normal reaction to such dark themes and what he didn't. All in all, this is hands down one of my all time favorite games and walkthroughs of all time. Thanks, Cry!
You know what I realized? Joel's birthday is the day before Sarah's death. And so, when every time he remembers his own birthday, the next day would be a reminder of losing his daughter for the rest of his life.....
I'm already teary-eyed by the first fifteen minutes of this game?? This will not be a fun time at all, no siree.

He is by far the best I've watched. No other person gets so attached to the characters and it's honestly amazing to watch him actually become so protective of Ellie like Joel does.

Don't get me wrong, but of all the scenes that have been obsessed over to the point of high annoyance, Sarah's death is right there at the top. Clem obsession is right behind it in second place. Seems that little girls make gamers go over the edge.

But really. I think we all love the littles because they are weak and helpless, and we feel like we need to protect them. Though there are some games that are.. well.. bad. Watching a father lose his son/daughter is VERY sad to watch, because u know that they meant alot to them. So watching Joell cry over Sarahs body was a very sad moment. Age didn't play much of a role there for me, although her being a adorable little kid definately DIDN'T help...
i watched this playthrough as it was coming out, and as with probably the rest of this generation of people i've still been on youtube watching other videos, and coming back to rewatch this now, it's..soothing in a way to see a playthrough without a facecam, even though it threw me off at the start

So much better than pewdiepie's shrill loud ass commentary. Fair enough if it's a light-hearted or comedic game but games like this don't need obnoxious talking every second. Can actually wear headphones for these videos without fear of my ears blowing off
CRY sounds so innocent
This is why I love Cry, he doesn't joke around that much playing games, he's quiet in the important parts not making stupid comments, he enjoys the game and plays it like he's really in it. In my opinion he's amazing
