This guy knows what he's doing. The opening chords are played simultaneously as written.Superb expression and fabulous technique.Excellent orchestral accompaniment too.One of the very best performances of this Concerto which escapes most pianists.
The only reason why sometimes the opening chords are not played simultaneously is because the pianists hands are TOO SMALL to play all the notes together. Rachmaninoff had famously large hands and wrote his music accordingly which some pianists , especially female pianists simply cannot play .
@@scabbycatcat4202 Exactly... The opening chords in the left hand span a tenth, from F to the A over an octave up.
Nobody plays this like Simon. Met him in Philly. Great guy. Wonderful pianist. Bravo!
The Cadenza in the 1st movement is just perfectly performed by the pianist together with the entire orchestra.. !! This is now one of my favorite Rach 2 videos ever !!!
Huh, what cadenza?
If the orchestra is playing, then it isn’t a cadenza.
I'm going to see him perform this live. You have no idea how excited I am.
how was it?
This music is like a person's whole life-time sealed in sounds.
Trpceski's recording of Rach 2 and 3 are my favorite versions...
They certainly are up there. I love looking at his technique, also. It's very aesthetically pleasing and he never loses control
how’s his Rach 1? he’s coming to baltimore but i haven’t been to a symphony before
I heard him playing this in Birmingham with the St Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra a few months back;I felt as if I was floating on air for days after his performance;what a talent this guy is!!
Мајсторска класа..братче ти си единиот кој многу блиску до Хоровиц доаѓа. Македонија се гордее со тебе. ;)
One of my favourite pianists!
I think this guy is my favorite living concert pianist.
haha, that look at the camera at 2:30 is just epic
This is probably the best record of Rachmaninov's Concerto No2
This is an incredible recording and performance. I can listen to this Concerto over and over again and still feel the same swelling of emotion. Rachmaninoff was truly a gift to the human race. My first piano teacher saw him perform live here in the States and he's been my favorite every since her stories of his performance.
Had the pleasure of seeing Trpceski in Vienna
Bravo! Trpceski is talented. Let me moved to tears. This is one of my favorite music .
Love it! Trpceski is amazing and so is the orchestra. The 2nd movement is my favorite music in the world and brought me to tears. Bravo!
Colosal la interpretacion de Simon Trpceski, y la Filarmonica de Liverpool verdaderamente Fabulosa, llevados por un Director Magistral, gracias por un
momento sublime, Q/logro del Fantastico Compositor Rachmaninov
TRULY AMAZING!!! Thank you for sharing this with us!
Bravo Siime.Inzvonreden si.
This Concerto has wonderful “tunes” that linger in the ear, dance around in the head, as they flood and overflow the quickened heart. It is a gift to anyone who can “unwrap” it. Rachmaninoff, among others, left this World a better place than he found it. This is a unique Socio-Musical Event.
stunning performance of this beautiful concerto!!!
Saw him in New York, playing Tchaikovsky's piano No.2. Well mannered. Good guy. Bravo.
Bravo Simon...really beautiful. Love..............Betty
Bravo Simon and orchestra 👏👏👏❤
very very good!! I am impressed by the conductor too
Fine performance by both piano and orchestra. Highly enjoyable. Thanks.
I've met him, what a great person :) greetings from Armenia
Miraculous music and Simon is amazing, in giving it an incredibly moving performance. Bravissimo!!
You are a wonderful pianist Simon! You perform very similarly to Roberto Cominati. Old school romantic is the best. Pianists have gotten further and further away from the proper performance of classical music over the past two decades, but it is clear that you have not deviated from the correct path. Bravo.
Just saw him performing in San Francisco and met him in person. Wonderful artist and a great and humble guy!
Bratko! Ti si genialen bre!!!! Njama takav pianist!!!!Goljam si!
Simply Amazing!!!
God I love this piece!
Extraordinary!!!!
Great! Thank you so much :)

Побольше таких концертов, жизнь была бы намного лучше.

Симон и Василий БРАВО!
Musical perfection in every conceivable way. :)
I'm going to go see him perform Rach 3 live next month!

What a perfect concert!
9:24 Can everyone agree that whether you see a film, a ballet, a musical theater production, a play, a dance recital, a performance of concert music, ONE MUST TURN OFF THEIR CELL PHONES
haha
Thanks! :)
great pianist!
Best Rachmaninov performance
Svaka cast!!!! :)
33:28~ 33:45 I love this part so much 😍😍
Да, это гениально
He plays like Roberto Cominati from the Leeds competition in 1996. It's like a flash back to that performance. This is EXACTLY how Rachmaninoff 2nd should sound.
Great!
wow
yes i agree with the macedonian, it is the perfect piece
Wow
MACEDONIA FOR LIFE! WAY TO GO ON PROMOTING MACEDONIA AND MACEDONIANS THROUGH THE WORLD SIMON! WE LOVE YOU!
02:29 peek a boo? And I enjoyed watching and listening to this.

Magnifique a musical Queen Elizabeth on the shining seas

the best Rachmaninov 2 concerto players 1.S.Richter with Wislocki from 1959 the most poerful and the best structure for music 2.Stanislav Igolinsky the most beautiful Rachmaninov 2 ever 3.Rosa Tamarkina the most fierce the most rage the most furious one Rachmaninov 2 concerto ever.4.Earl Wild the beautiful piano sound for Rachmaninov 2 concerto.Check those out!!!
For those suffering with tests and finals - like me.
Please watch my Chopin waltz in D flat, and Beethoven Pathetique (3rd mov).
Much better than yuja Wang's version!
Agreed... But he doesn't look as good... :)
the quicker the better
Oops Eric *Carmen not Carme. :)
Is there a piano in this mix? He is a great performer but the piano is really low in this mix, unfortunate
I can't hear the piano!
Wonderful performance!!r
Please also watch my performance of Chopin Barcarolle, of which I have watched and listened to Roberto Cominati, who plays very similarly to the great Simon Trpceski.
I feel Lugansky's version has the most Russian flavor.
Great performance; pity at a dreadful venue which booms everything
Bruh
ме расплака уште од сабајле...секоја чест маестро
14:57 to 15:15 Eric Carme's "Those days are gone".
That's where he got inspired for his verse melody. A rip off from Rachmaninoff.
I'm glad those days are gone.
:)
Macedonia
2:29 u are busted
S.Richter the most powerful. The right spelling
for me* (volodos is better etc)
i think volodos is better.. But just opinions and own interpretations :)
isn't it way too quick ?
The pianist is too weak against the orchestra.
Can't stand him. Won't watch, after his horrific Saint Saens concerto in G Minor, second movement appalling tempo.
Oh, please, just enjoy the performance. This man is world-class, but there are always naywayers, I guess.
