Just a couple things. 1: The guy talking at the hockey game is Don Cherry. He's actually famous up here in Canada as an announcer during hockey games. He's kinda like our Michael Buffer ("Let's get ready to rumble") 2. The Goosebumps fan wiki would have sections listing the differences between the book and the episodes. Don't Go To Sleep always stuck out to me cause it was one of the episodes that had the biggest/most differences from the book. In the show, reality seemed to change randomly. While in the book, it changed whenever he went to sleep, hence the title. They even changed the twist ending.
I bet the book had a clearer moral aswel. I know the moral is supposed to be something like "Don't be ungrateful and be thankful for the things you have in life", but it really rubs off into "know your place"
I saw this show on Cartoon Network. The marketing ads called you "chicken" for being scared of it. The most prominent episodes I remembered were the "Say Cheese and Die" episode, weredogs, and robot kids.
It’s still think it’s surreal that Don Cherry (the old guy) was in this episode; and yes, he was a coach for a couple NHL teams back in the 70’s. Despite a few, unpopular opinions, he’s still considered a Canadian icon.
Most of Goosebumps was pretty mundane and occasionally even silly, but there was one line from the show that stuck with me and still feels terrifying to this day. It was from the second Mask episode where the mask is threatening its wearer. "If you don't, I'll make you worse. Your eyes will turn to puss. Your tongue will crawl in the dirt. I'll make your bones soft like cheese. Now smash it! Smash the head!" That's legitimate body horror.
Hell Yes! This is not only ine of my favorite JonTron Episodes but Goosebumps in itself is one of my Guilty Pleasures shows, I also appreciate the fact that he covered Don't go to Sleep because it was one the episodes I had on DVD as a kid
I recommended it a while back Kyle, but Nostalgia Critic's review of "Demon Knight" is a Tales From The Crypt movie, so you'll learn about it there. Also regarding the ending with him trapped forever, a lot of Goosebumps books ended on a cliffhanger, especially the "bad thing or transformed forever" kind.
Dude, this show was good. I remember watching some episodes before & after school. Although some episode outcomes were creepy, and definetly made me scared. For example, at the end of the third slappy episode Slappy gets destroyed and his soul goes into a kid, and what he looked like afterwards sent shivers in me for days.

The hockey coach is played by Don Cherry, a Canadian hockey commentator (and former actual coach) famous for being notoriously difficult to censor, so Jon's joke that he went off script and the editors left it in is entirely plausible. Anyway, he was fired in 2019 for going on a rant about how immigrants didn't respect Remembrance Day.
Usually after everything resolved at the end of the episode, there's something wrong for the main character of the story. I vaguely remember the show. I know both Cartoon Network and The Hub reran the series in the 00 and 10s. I caught pieces here and there. I remember seeing advertisements of the movies with Jack Black as the main character.
Answering your question from near the end there, Kirbopher is a voice actor and animator! Also yes, i would love to see Part 2. It's the best part by far, and it's in my top three Jon Tron vids.
Yeah, I used to watch a few episodes of the tv show on video cassettes, back in the 90's. When I was a kid, the one that scared me the most was "Werewolf of Fever Swamp". You should yourself time to watch and react to those.
Seriously, thank you for remembering to react to this even though I asked for it and then forgot myself that I asked! I figured it would come out closer to October for halloween and then yeah it just slipped my mind until...well, now 😅 thank you so much again for reacting dude!!
I was also afraid of the Goosebumps books just based on the covers, but my older brother liked them. I read a couple in like high school, and they were more creepy than scary. We also had a VHS of one of the episodes, but it always terrified me P.S. No dancing skeleton this year?
The show was cheesy with horrible acting, but for the most part it was entertaining. Very few were scary. The books themselves were pretty damn good. I would consider them "young adult" because most of the time they ended in a horrible situation for the people inside. They were a fun adventure. The show not so much.
Looking at the title I just had to shake my head in reaction. I saw more of "Are you afraid of the Dark" than Goosebumps. And even then, I didn't like horror without significant purpose so it was mostly out of curiosity of the weird stories. Just like with Courage the Cowardly Dog.
Just a couple things.

The episode of Goosebumps where that girl became a pig always scared the shit out of me as a kid lmao!
We need to make "I don't know that." Your catchprase, it will be peak merch.

I remember watching episodes of Goosebumps and R.L Stine's The Haunting Hour as a kid

The goosebumps intro music is a jam it one of the reason why I kept watching each EP lol
R.L. Stein actually didn't like kids, so he made Goosebumps to scare them
Ok, at least you knew the books existed. Also, I can understand being scared of the book covers as a kid. they WERE horror books designed for kids
After you finish his Goosebumps review you should definitely do his Are You Afraid of The Dark review!
Yes, definitely.
I saw the mascot episode of the show and it actually terrified me
I used to watch Goosebumps a lot back in 2008 when it re-run on Cartoon Network. The commercials for it used to scare me as a kid.

I think he would also benefit from checking out episodes from Tales From the Crypt.
I hope you also watch his "Are you afraid of the Dark?" videos after his Goosebumps part 2.

Some episodes were really good. Others were quite awful. Same can be said for the books, though.
I don’t want to see that

Oh I know of him
If you want something to scare the daylights out of you, look at HBO's Tales From the Crypt. It's based a comic book series.
Yes, you watched Nostalgia Critic talk about it briefly in his Fox Kids video.
Usually after everything resolved at the end of the episode, there's something wrong for the main character of the story.

Part 2 is one of my favorite JonTron videos, I know you'll love it.
I think a good review from nostalgia critic for Halloween is the haunting (1999)
Fun Fact: some of Jontrons most popular memes comes from these 2 Goosebumps videos! 😂
Oh? I wonder which ones I know
@@theduckgoesmoo the ones that became popular was "I don't like where this is going" and him saying "no! No! Nononono!" (But that part is in part 2!)

With TH-cam’s antics lately like Mr beast having a video taken down for something even smaller than a skeleton. Literally taking the “you” out of it…
Happy spooktoober.
jon's got the best spoopy videos
I was terrified by goosebumps as kid
Oh yes! I was hoping you’d get to these videos this month!
Hey duck, now that its now officially spooky season, i think its a good time to react to Sr.Pelo's Spooky Month seires, they're pretty cool.
i was a big goosebumps reader every book fair my school had i tried to get one or two
it was the crypt keeper
i straight up love all the goosebumps movies lol haunted mask is the best, you should watch some of the better ones
We had a VHS of that when I was a kid but it terrified me 😅
have you ever watched it since? its cheesy but i still love it @@risuwolf
At this point I'm more surprised about you knowing about the books than you not knowing about the tv show.
School made me do it
@@theduckgoesmoo Ah, the Scholastic marketing budget at work.
So Duck now that you know what Goosebumps is would you watch it on your spare time
Yes Kyle unlike popular belief ppl do read books unlike yourself and make a series
the scratched universe episode 6 part 2 is out!
Time for scratched universe episode 6 part 2
Do a all goosebumps month !!
