wow this is so cool i always loved the classic episodes of one life to live. do you have anymore? i would love to see more episodes of dorian and vicki and tina and max thank you
It's crazy how this is ten years before they re-write Victor abusing Viki, but it seems like Robin and Erika were already playing it under the surface. They don't make soaps like this anymore. This is 10/10.
Although Dorian started out shady, I always thought that Dorian was misunderstood especially by Viki. My opinion was made firm when the other altars came out later. Hearing Dorian's confession did not make me see her as the bad guy in this.
The secret room was downstairs (basement level) we find this out later when Jean Randolph (another Viki alter) had the secret room rebuild and kept Dorian in a cage So the door would be across from the other door, leading to the basement.
My favorite part was every time someone accessed the secret room, the bookcase would slowly shut by itself - almost giving this haunting quality to the story.
I remember this storyline but only vaguely on the back-end. Weren't they trying to drive Viki crazy and bring Niki Smith out so they could get her share of Victor's estate?
Kind of... fortune hunting Mitch Laurence coerced his girlfriend Tina Clayton to claim her birthright, and though Tina was eager to take the Lord family name, I don't she was as eager to drive Viki crazy - that was definitely Mitch who made every effort, from leaving notes around Llanfair that would cause Viki to split, even plotting to use the Niki persona as part of a frame up for murdering Clint.
Dorian and Viki were on better terms back then. Their relationship was far more nuanced than it is presently. Say what you will, but Dorian was right in that Tina turned out to be the long lost Lord heiress.
Where were Viki and Jenny on their way to at the beginning of this scene? To see Dr. Polk? I assume that they were probably discussing Viki's blackouts and Niki's return or perhaps the confrontation between Tina and Viki at the 50th anniversary celeb of the Banner.
It was either June or July. I was nine and I remember I asked my mother if we could go to the county pool, and she said we could but after that day's episode of OLTL and this was the scene playing out. After that, I was hooked, lol
Yes, Viki knew of Nothing at this point, except that Tony was Victor's son from a World War II romance. She just recently before this scene saw the letter that Tina is his daughter.
This is definitely 1985 and kind of the beginning of Paul Rauch's OLTL and the tone it would have going into the 2nd half of the 80's... Its kind of interesting because it is right before the background music that we all rave about was overhauled and added- The show still has that slow moving and old fashioned vibe that OLTL had from 1980-1984, but the signs are all there for that fast moving addictive/contemporary show that it became soon after... 1985-1989 OLTL was the best.
@Junkay2 Because at this time, Dorian thought that Viki remembered Victor's abuse, but was keeping it a dark secret out of shame. Dorian didn't bring it up because it wasn't the main issue -- Tina claiming to be Victor's daughter was the big problem. It wasn't until their argument 10 years later that Dorian realized that Viki had repressed all of those traumatic memories since childhood.
Unbelievable. Thank you for explaining because my first question was why on earth in 1995 did they act like this was all brand new. OLTL was amazing. Storylines playing out for decades!!!! Loved this show and miss these characters dearly.
Tina found a letter in the secret room written by Victor stating that Tina was his daughter. And no, Viki was not happy! LOL When Tina first came back to Llanview, she lived with Viki and Clint. Obviously after all of this came out, I am sure she wasn't welcome at Llanfair anymore. You can find a little clip of the scene where Tina tells Viki through either the Heaven storyline posted by PHILLYMediaWATCH (part 23 I think)or through the Daytime to Remember Heaven storyline.
I know this is technical, but the book case opens and Viki and Dorian enter behind the bookcase and walk right. But, there is a door on the right side of the room between the bookcase and the secretary. How could they enter there and go in that direction if there is a door there leading to a room or something. Does anyone know where that door goes? Since the secret room is behind it and the terrace is on the other side?
i kno i think it was dumb too but i remember seeing a clip on here recently where they claimed that Viki's OBGYN was Roxy's husband who was working for Mitch so i guess they could reason that the doctor didnt tell Viki purposely. and as we find out Mitch took Jessica then switched her with Natalie and gave Natalie to the Balsoms.
I'm a little fuzzy with this, did Viki not realize her father molested her until 1994? She seems to think Victor is awesome in this clip. I'm currently trying to catch up on the Victor Lord stuff with this show and it is damn confusing!
Ok, so why didnt Viki splinter off then? I mean, wouldnt or shouldnt Jean Randolph, Tori, Princess, Tommy, and Victor (lol) have come storming out then??
This secret room is just one event; upsetting but not devastating. You have to remember all the events that led up to Viki's splintering in 1995: Dorian was put on trial for Victor's murder, David Vickers came to town claiming to be Victor's long lost son and Dorian was acquitted, Dorian then seduced Joey, Viki began having flashbacks of her mother's death, Sloane died, Viki learned David was a fraud and THEN Dorian revealed that Victor had molested Viki since she was a child (an event she repressed and was the underlying cause of her DID)! Viki's psyche had been under constant attack for over a year and she was not as strong as she usually would be and she shattered.
I know this is 85, but does anyone know the month? Was this the same day that Viki had the Banner's 50th anniversary part and Tina put the letter from Victor stating she was his daughter and then Viki slapped her and ran off, am I right?
This is one of the many reasons I stopped watching soap operas regularly, particularly OLTL which is a soap opera known for adding facts to history! When that happens, it creates many logical anomalies. Like for instance, this recent story line that Viki had twins, and did not realize she gave twins until both became adults! I saw the episode when Clint help deliver Jessica! How could Clint miss that other twin coming from Viki's womb!
I don't know if soap opera's were doing stories about child abuse, back then. Especially not incest involving a child under the age of 10! At that time the suggestion that Victor was carrying on with a teen aged girl was despicable. To suggest an adult would abuse a small child was so VILE, so repugnant, I don't think it could have been show on daytime... I could be wrong. As far as a fictional reason? Dorian thought she killed Victor, and the truth would give her a motive in court???
Further more, who was the quack gynecologist who informed Viki that she was pregnant? How did he/she miss that twin on the ultrasound? You would think that as rich as Victoria Lord Burke Riley Riley Buchanan Buchanan Carpenter Davidson is, you would think she could afford better pre-natal care!
These soap opera storylines are so inconsistent! I'm curious as to why Dorian didn't take this opportunity to share with Viki about the sexual abuse as she would some ten odd years later? The writers have never sought to explain this.
This is such historic footage! As a OLTL veiwer, this is daytime history. Thanks for posting! :)
Two Emmy winners at their best
Dorian and Vicki scenes were always the highlight.
Those two were One life to Live
Robin Strasser and Erika Slezak - top talent in full flight.
This is when OLTL was wayyyy at the top of its game!!
wow this is so cool i always loved the classic episodes of one life to live. do you have anymore? i would love to see more episodes of dorian and vicki and tina and max thank you
That was really cool. I would love to see the rest of these scenes if you have them:)

Ingrid Lavalais Ermon I agree 100%
Agreed
Good points there MI amigo
Agree. I used to not like Dorian, when I first watched it in 1981...till after the alters were released in 1995. Afterwards Dorian won me over
She was misunderstood. My favorite character of all time.
No, the underground 'city' was in Eterna when Victor brainwashed Viki into forgetting she gave birth to Megan when she was Niki Smith.
Who would have a year of his daughter’s memory erased? And how exactly is that done? Only on One Life to Live
God I miss this show
The secret room was downstairs (basement level) we find this out later when Jean Randolph (another Viki alter) had the secret room rebuild and kept Dorian in a cage So the door would be across from the other door, leading to the basement.
Brynn Robin Erica all great actresses!! U go girls!!

Do you have more of Viki/Niki from back then? If you do that would be great!!
Dorian and Viki were on better terms back then. Their relationship was far more nuanced than it is presently. Say what you will, but Dorian was right in that Tina turned out to be the long lost Lord heiress.

Vicki BuchannanThis woman has suffered
i liked how Llanfair looked back then compared to now lol . and if u look the front door is on the opposite side now lol
One of Vicki alter, tori, burn the house down. So Vicki herself had it rebuild similar to the old house
It was either June or July. I was nine and I remember I asked my mother if we could go to the county pool, and she said we could but after that day's episode of OLTL and this was the scene playing out. After that, I was hooked, lol
I think the stress of Tina s claim forced out Nikii again.
More Daytime Emmy winners for lead actress came from this show including these two than any other soap !!!!
Yes, Viki knew of Nothing at this point, except that Tony was Victor's son from a World War II romance. She just recently before this scene saw the letter that Tina is his daughter.
Tony's mother was actually Dorothy Randolph, sister of Viki's mother Eugenia. Victor had an affair with Eugenia's sister.

That's really great foreshadowing but this scene reminded me of the alt vicki scenes from 95
Tina found a letter in the secret room written by Victor stating that Tina was his daughter. And no, Viki was not happy! LOL When Tina first came back to Llanview, she lived with Viki and Clint. Obviously after all of this came out, I am sure she wasn't welcome at Llanfair anymore.

Chauntel, they did briefly explain it - Dorian said she thought Viki knew.

These episodes occurred in the beginning part of 1986 - not sure the month.
how did they come to find out about tina and was viki hppy about and where was tina living lol alot of questions
Where's part 2?
Thiii, Viki was so paranoid when it came to Dorian.
Hilarious how Viki tried to claim that Dorian created the secret room.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
i kno i think it was dumb too but i remember seeing a clip on here recently where they claimed that Viki's OBGYN was Roxy's husband who was working for Mitch so i guess they could reason that the doctor didnt tell Viki purposely. and as we find out Mitch took Jessica then switched her with Natalie and gave Natalie to the Balsoms.
I wanna see the 1st revelation of the secret room!
you can see there were hints about what he was doing
it was behind the bookcase was a spiral staircase
Dorian's swarthy complexion always tanned so beautifully.
Landfair looked bigger here
they revamped the set. When Viki took over Lanfair.
It seems like OLTL actually had larger sets in the 80s.
I'm a little fuzzy with this, did Viki not realize her father molested her until 1994? She seems to think Victor is awesome in this clip.
I'm currently trying to catch up on the Victor Lord stuff with this show and it is damn confusing!

Rhaegar Targaryen eloquently explained by a true OLTL fan. Amazing memory.
Because at this point in the show Nikki Smith was the only Alter that existed
it looks like sometime between 1984 and 1987. i think hair styles and and make up are a dead give away.
June 1985
@@nightowlchad thank you 😊
@@KRstar78 you're quite welcome
I know this is 85, but does anyone know the month? Was this the same day that Viki had the Banner's 50th anniversary part and Tina put the letter from Victor stating she was his daughter and then Viki slapped her and ran off, am I right?
The episode aired late June 1985
This is one of the many reasons I stopped watching soap operas regularly, particularly OLTL which is a soap opera known for adding facts to history!

i believe it was 86'

3:25...Dorian knew how horrible Victor truly was.
Is this the first time he altered came out
Dorian is especially hot here. Albeit with huge 1980s mall hair!!
Robin Strasser was so beautiful lovely figure.
Secret, previously unknown rooms are awesome. Secret kids that mothers did not know they gave birth to are not awesome.

I couldn't stand Jenny Wolek Randellie
