Shadowing Neurosurgery | Med School Vlog

Hey guys, my name is Vivien Makhoul and I am a second year medical student in the United States :) Come along with me for this week of shenanigans!!
This week we watch Barbie, shadow a Deep Brain Stimulation surgery (soOoOoo cool), lose our laptop charger, balance a million things at once and end up getting sick over it all! Thankfully I have a strong support system and was able to rest and reset this weekend, so that I could bounce back stronger next week. Definitely still learning and growing throughout this journey of life and medicine :)

Vivien that is so cool and I’m so happy for you!! I’ve been following you for months and I love seeing your journey. I myself am a social work major currently working on my BSW but your videos motivate me SO much! I used to want to be a pathologist and go to med school really bad, I was a microbiology major but always wanted to do neuroscience (my school didn’t offer the major). I realized my strengths will suit the social work field better so that is where I redirected my goals. Seeing someone who also loves neuroscience so dedicated to the medical field is just wonderful, and seeing your study habits influence my own. I still have dreams of working in the hospital as a social worker one day, possibly!! Stay positive, awesome and yourself always girl!! 💕
