As you can see driving test route 3 takes in the A5 which features in a few of the Nuneaton practical driving test routes, it is a fast road and this is the reason you could be tested on it. You will be expected to keep up with the speed of the road. It is therefore a good idea to ask your Driving Instructor or whoever is helping you with your driving lessons to take to the A5 so you can become accustomed with higher speeds.
Also you may notice some road signs are covered by vegetation and some of the road markings are, in my opinion quite late, almost too close to the junctions to allow you to plan ahead satisfactorily, this is a feature of the roads this area, it is to your advantage to get to know all of the driving test routes.
My advice is to watch the videos more than once; too get a really good idea of the roads you will be asked to drive on and where any pitfalls may occur. You will notice many of the Nuneaton driving test routes overlap with each other meaning some of the roads and junctions are included in multiple driving test routes.
These videos are the most recently published test routes from the DVSA. All driving test routes are subject to change periodically however they rarely change completely it is more likely they will slightly alter. Also if there happens to be a road block ahead; due to road works or an accident for example; your driving test examiner may alter the test route in order to save time or in the interest of fairness. This means you are not guaranteed to stick strictly to the route in the video.

Thank you so much for posting these videos. They were really helpful as I couldn’t do lot of lessons in Nuneaton. Keep the good work.
Did this route on a mock test today.. one of my worst lessons. Nerves got the best of me and with a very low sun made it 10x worse! This video helped so much especially the odd shaped roundabout on the a4 to go right into Nuneaton
glad the videos are helping 🙂🚗
Really useful comments in the video about driving/specific roads - thank you!
Hi Faye S, Cheers
Hi All, I was just trying to follow the road and mark it on map. For this route below is the map direction which will surly help visualized which directions. Let me know if anyone need help. I will do it for rest of the routes for my own benefit and share in the comment

Hi Raamakrishnan, thanks I'll check.
Great work but this route has changed slightly. It goes into Manchester roundabout and 4th exit
Hi Aftab, thanks for the info. are you though "Manchester"
@@drivingtestwizard2569 lol. Sorry it's mancetter
Hi Aftab. thanks again for the info. please let me know of any other alterations.
Hi, will I be required to use a SAT NAV they who time on this test route?
Probably
How is the traffic in Nuneaton test route at about 07:15 am on school holidays
Hi Linda, I imagine the traffic at that time would be more or the same in school holidays as in term time. The school run wouldn’t have usually kicked in for another hour.
At 29:23 the sign for the roundabout shows the second exit as straight on yet you indicate to turn right and approach in the right lane. Isn't that incorrect? shouldn't you be in the left lane?
Vanessa Ray hi Vanessa, if you see the roundabout as a clock face; any exit after 12 is a right turn. Here the second exit is more like 1o’clock; so we must approach it as a right turn. (The road sign is quite misleading, which is more common than it should be). Hope this helps.
I had my test in Lichfield and the sat nav told me to go straight third exit on the roundabout. The sign was the same as yours in the video with an extra exit at about 10 o'clock and my exit shown as straight. However the third exit was past 12 o'clock so I entered the roundabout in the right hand lane. The examiner failed me as they said I should of been in the left hand lane as I would have cut across traffic entering from the second exit when I exited the roundabout at the third exit. Was I correct in choosing the right hand lane?@@drivingtestwizard2569
@@vanessaray7205 Hi. I kniw it will seem a bit of a cop out, but, it's difficult to comment having not seen the roundabout.
I definitely prefer driving around Nuneaton compared to Coventry.
Yes, I think most people are the same.
Yes, I totally agree with you on this.
