I’m not supporting Candace in any way just that some of the truth she peppers in will get derided by anyone who uses it. I got called an Uncle Tom for saying a black guy deserves to get shot by some homeowners. Everyone wanted to ignore fact that he actually did break into a guys house and got met with a correct response. It’s not just the self hatred but the blind eye that gets turned when one of your own does something compared to the other.

    • @atlantabrooklyngal
      @atlantabrooklyngal 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

@@justindixon1586 yes, I could agree with that. I guess that's what gets on my nerves...sometimes when some Black people do something they shouldn't, I don't even get a chance to say they were wrong, because there are twenty plus racist comments, acting like that's the conduct of all Black people. Then you feel the need to address at least one of the racist comments. (sometimes anyway.) If people would just chill out with the racist rhetoric they would probably see that many Black people feel the same and don't agree with the misconduct of some of their people. However, people like Candace are paid to run interference for racist White conservatives and make seem like it's Black people who need to to get it together when it's the entire human race.

Not at all. Different cultures handle conflict differently. Asian culture tends to withdraw from conflicts. Western culture tends to resolve conflict face on via discussion. Religions have and teach hierarchies to avoid conflicts. The common thing is these ways always aim to build a common ground where both sides meet.
Sadly the media portrays the only way black culture resolves conflict is a fight or drawing a line, no common ground at all. And this thinking splits the communities deeper and deeper. I think the black community needs to promote more co-operative mindsets.

What, if other people have a problem as well, it isn't a problem any more? "Drug addiction is a huge problem in the black community" "it is a huge problem in the white community as well, so we refuse to acknowledge that it is a problem". I mean, if you want to just ignore the race part and just say "it is a problem in American communities", we can do that, but then you can stop claiming that police are only a problem for blacks, and poverty, and education, if you don't want to be dealt with as a distinct cultural group. Funny how black people always seem to want to be unique and distinct until you highlight problems within their own culture, then it is "why you got to single us out like that!?"

That's really commendable that your openly acknowledging it & speaking on it, recognizing it & admitting it outloud is half the battle i feel.. confronting the ego & 'stubbornness' of not wanting to be wrong &/or admit embarrassment is a huge factor of why this happens, in my opinion. I know me & my husband have both dealt with these issues ourselves & have talked about it! I see this a lot especially in public, 2 strangers will go at it over something so miniscule & they'll make a mountain out of a molehill..
an you know it could easily be resolved most of the time but neither person wants to back down or own up & apologize and the more naturally stubborn the person is, the worse it is, and again fear of 'looking weak' is a form of 'public humiliation' and the risk of embarrassment from that is too much, it could damage the reputation or image (ego) & effect their social life/social media! And it's deff not JUST black Americans guilty of this, and neither is it ALL black americans, it's all populations and tbh it's kinda some 1st World Problems- BS lol! But frfr tho kudos to you girl for recognizing & workin on it 👏🏻💜🙏🏼 If we all tried everyday to be a better version of ourselves than the day before, this world would be a much better place 💯☝🏼🙏🏼💚 Encourage & celebrate those who are doing that self-work.. it can become a trend 👏🏻🤩🥳😘🤗

Salam Candace & greetings to all.
Afro descendants suffer from traumas that still are not identified nor treated.
Bipolarity is also a big issue among us in Africa.

Yeah, we’ve seen how Haitian people have not split their island in two, not killed their revolutionary leaders, making them vulnerable to France, putting them into debt. Excellent conflict resolution from your people, Owens.

Love Candace!!!!Indians, Asians, Hispanics, Middle Eastern, Jews etc. are more of a minority than the black community, yet it's not normal to see/hear a consistent barrage of race focused, magazines, cable stations, radio stations , screaming “racism” and demanding more attention and "justice"
I see other minorities in the U.S, AS A WHOLE, as business owners, some working two or more jobs and not really demanding others to give others special attention, leaders in the communities, employers etc. Most don't ever bring up races, and truthfully live by MLK Motto, judge others by their character and not the color of skin. And, I've also noticed that my dark brothers and sisters that DON'T focus on skin color, USUALLY, are very happy, successful in life, and selfless.
If African Americans are so oppressed and hated..................
What am I missing? Truly curious.
    LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!!!!

You should get out more and don't go to the ghetto where the media makes it seem like African Americans are oppressed. Go to areas where black African Americans, are doing quit well. It's more of us that have college educations, work one to two jobs, and actually live in houses than the media will represent to society. You are going to really be shocked to find out that what you see in the media only represents 15% of the African American population. The rest of us are thriving. Yes, we complain and will continue to want justice. Remember you left your country because you didn't want to fight, so we did the fighting for you by demanding our civil rights.

According to the Anti-Defamation League's Center on Extremism, in the United States:
    * White supremacists were responsible for 71% of extremist-related murders between 2010 and 2019.
    * Black extremists were responsible for 2% of extremist-related murders during the same period.
It's important to note that mass murder and extremism are complex issues that cannot be attributed to any one group or demographic. Addressing the root causes of hate and violence is crucial to preventing such tragedies.

I loved the guide book because it was written like a play with speaking lines, you got to practice, you got better, discussion afterward and the feelings were really positive. Both parties hugged, smiled and felt good about it. I loved the guide, I wish I’d kept it!
