When we were playing with this raft we replaced all of it with metal and added turrets. It was really good and the design works well for PvP and PvE alike.
I also made a greenhouse one for PvE!
Another story is when we raided a water base made out of metal using the rafts mentioned above! It is so slick

I can just pick up the pillar and Foundation. I don't have to destroy anything and I'm able to achieve the same effect in about 20 seconds
That was not a feature at the time of the video, really glad devs added it

Built my raft based on this and it worked great. I made the creative decision to build mine backwards though with the ramps at the back and ran into some problems. It makes it tricky to beach the craft and anything chasing you (I'm looking at you Sarco) can run right up the ramps and attack your dinos... Going to strip it down and rebuild. Just thought I'd add this note as a cautionary tale. haha.

Edit: I hopped into creative mode and made both. Prefer the camera angles with it reversed and I can use the balcony to look straight ahead. Another factor for me is that I like to dock my raft sideways/facing away from shore so I can hop on it when being pursued by an angry dinosaur and make a straight dash for the river. This way the slope faces the shore and I face away from it when I drive.
For anyone who reads this, you can counter this by having your ramps end above the waterline. In a nutshell, if you can swim up onto the raft, the Sarco can too. They'll still be low enough that you and your dinos can run up and down when you hit land.
I've also found keeping a pair of Megs following your raft does WONDERS for dealing with Leedsichthys.
Simple, efficient, and practical for the South beaches. Definitely going to be a lifesaver between my safe houses early game

7:10 you don't have to go underneath the water the foundations will snap underneath the roofs if you are standing on the roof and looking down just fine
Can’t get thatch foundations to snap to the stone
The dislikes are from the pvp players
Or ppl who tried this and got there boats destroyed because wood is useless against most things in the water.
@@MrArrow54 What things in the water attack a raft? I only know of Leeds, and they tear through anything because they attack the raft directly (from what I can tell)
V u are right there is nearly only one wild dino thats atulluy pretty rare on some maps that attack rafts

This looks perfect for my PVE. We are technically mid game but still have no great metal farming going yet. This would be awesome for scooting about. And I bet I could fit a decent few dinos on board for helping tame/farm resources. I will make something similar for sure.

It would get shattered by the whales so make sure to have someone scout ahead if you are going in their common spawn areas

Nice design. I use the Mods "The Hunted" and "Immersive Taming" and the raft works great for taming the level 1 Dino's and bring them save home.
Thank you for this raft build. I've been challenged in finding a way to transport farming dinos on a raft big enough to house them and the materials they gather. Don't know why it didn't occur to me to build vertically. Thanks again!
I only discovered this game as it was a freebie through playstation plus. And even then I usually don't go for any thing outside my norm of car games or GTA lol, but your as epic as this game bro for this wicked use of the games coding. You sussed something out here for sure, I was over the moon I'd build a raft to get across water without getting eaten by piranhas, now we're going to other levels lol, I doubted your technique for a while as it was destroying the one next to the one I destroyed following the steps, but it just started to work out so I'm grateful brother

Eugenio Lujan bruda the game nerfed the rafts meaning that they changed it and they don’t actually let you extend your raft anymore further than how big it is :P
I use this now on my playthrough, still amazes me and is my main base, I am Lvl 47 now (i am a beginner)
Just a note that I found, when you are extending the raft you MUST use thatch roofs because any other will obstruct the place for the foundations
Do you mean that it need to be all thatch before the extension?
I used wooden roofs and it worked perfectly
Since this video has been released the devs have added a giant whale to the game, it will destroy the raft in 2 hits. I built this raft and lost it the first time I used it going to Herbivore Island. If you hug the shoreline you might make it. Though crocs will attack it too..not as devastating. There are cheats if you google it: one will eliminate the whales, another will make them not attack the raft. Not sure if you could tame a bunch of Megladons to escort you and if that would work. There are also some elaborate raft bases surrounded by spikes which cheat the building mechanics. Also be aware the raft is really unstable (glitchy) when carrying dinos.

I had problems after my raft was 3x3 , the thatch ceilings snapped on but i couldn’t get the stone foundation underneath them. Any help would be appreciated, great build !

Perhaps someone can help: will this work out of stone? I tried, and it worked fine, but the final piece in the rear would not place. I went to delete the stone foundation in the center (the one on top of the steering rudder) and the entire raft sank.

This is what I have been looking for, I hope it still works in 2022.
I fully intend to build close to the same as this for my first raft, I love the idea of a mobile base.
How far can you take this concept, like how big can you get, is there a limit?
I am on PVE and love the idea of just abandoning my land base and living on a house (mansion) boat. 😃
Having a canoe to go up narrower rivers that can easily be stored or just swimming a Trike for less accessible areas sounds like a plan.

Me too. I'm just about to build up my raft to set off and make a base with my pets. Didn't know if to go to Herbivore or look somewhere near the cave at bottom middle...haven't even seen Island yet!!
So i tried connecting the ramp to the slope roof corner (right and left) but they dont aline, any fix? I used wooden fountains

Has anyone tried this recently? Trying on Xbox One and when I go to place the foundation for the first part it shows that it's lower but when I place it, it snaps back up to be level with the first platform every time...

That's good if you have the resources but I think this is supposed to be a starter crafts requiring minimum resources for people who are just starting out.

Start like the video shows. Starting pillar {A} in middle and snap foundation {1} to the side and put a new pillar {B} in the middle of that foundation. But then demolish the starting pillar AND the foundation {Delete A and 1} only leaving the the second pillar {B} placed and only one snap point (the lower one). And repeat. ( Snap foundation {2} to the side of old pillar {B} and snap new pillar {3} in the middle of it and delete old pillar and foundation {delete B and 2} until level with raft.) Hope this helps. But try to get my attention if i lost you.
If people want i could make a short video on how to lower foundations because its easier than this video makes it.
Does this technique work on PvE Local server? Or only in multiplayer, becuase i cant get it to work in singleplayer.

he used a ceiling to extend, don’t use a foundation and it should work

After spending 2 whole days doing this, a fucking Alpha leed deadass just ate it (I didn’t know about this creature because I’m fairly new at the game) lmao. It’s a very good raft house tho, very spacious and could fit my dinos.
mine didint look the same, something went wrong as i couldnt place the extra pilar in front of the lever, practice makes perfect i guess
so I dont have stone so can I put wood where the stone should be then be able to later replace it?

This would be fine on a PVE server but on a PVP server, even if it was in metal, you'd wake up on a beach, raided, looted and no way to get back to the raft after your bed was destroyed in the raid.
Rafts are pretty much useless since they added the Leeds which smashes rafts so you can't park out in deep water anymore like you used to with having the raft destroyed by a whale. You can only use them in shallow water which makes it very accessible by other players on PVP servers.
Don't get me wrong here, as a long time raft rat which rafts that have everything up to fabricators in them, this is a nice starter raft for getting around but expect to get raided often on a PVP server.

They dont have a high spawn rate and i know some rocks where u are basically invisible

Scott Halbert you can go to east where whales don’t spawn, me and my friend made a huge raft base made of four rafts placed in a row connected with doors. It stopped us from getting raided

ServiceChannel you can teleport them to you, but it takes away all the resources it had with it sadly

@@trill_mvnny2879 go to where it states your stats, click on tames, click on the tame creature you want teleported to you and press request, this will teleport your creature to you within a few seconds
How much of everything do u need? Like foundations and walls? How much all together

bikas lama You have to make sure your first foundation is straight so the rest snaps in just right. Kinda hard on the mobile version but it worked for me after trial and error.

I used this raft design... It worked well but I had encounters with leedsichthys, my dinos on the 1st floor got killed. raft almost destroyed

Hooooolyyyyty crap I was using thatch foundations instead of ceilings to extend the boat and it to me sooo long to realize this wasted too much time and especially a lot of stone and even accidentally broke my boat

Does it work for mobile?
The foundations aren’t going down for me, even when I place them while they are highlighted to go lower, it just stays on the same level, I’ve tried with thatch and wood foundations.

You can. Just delete the first foundation, after you place a pillar in it, then snap your second foundation next to the pillar.
