Ava don't put a live plant on books. It ruins the books and the shelf over time. Put a cute plate or a yogurt lid under the planter to catch the nasty water and save your furniture. (Also love your videos your my comfort TH-camr)
Horticulturist and plant addict here! For the pothos (hanging plant) be sure to let the first few inches of soil dry out in between watering. Just use your finger to test the soil. Bright indirect light is always best! Also, I'd recommend a balanced fertilizer (that means all the numbers should be the same, I use a 20-20-20 fertilizer by fertilome). For the snake plant, only water when the soil is BONE dry. And when you do water it, be sure to drown that little guy! Again, bright indirect light is best but snake plants are known for handling lower light relatively well. Same fertilizer as the pothos. You got this💕
i had a very tiring day as a masters student in uni, had my dinner, showered and decided to watch this video and i love how ava always has this relaxing vibe. i love her sm 🎀
Pothos and snake plants r soooo so easy. Don't give them too much direct light and do not overwater! That's the easiest way to kill those. Pothos will tell you when they are thirsty by drooping. If you take care of it well tho it will last you forever. I have had the same pothos for 6 years and I take cuttings and make new ones, it's so easy. But if you ignore them honestly they will do better haha
I’m a plant girly! Put percolate in the soil so it’s better drainage. You can easily get that at Home Depot or the like. Also have a once a week watering schedule and don’t overwater. You may need to move the locations to accommodate light needs but you will learn that overtime! This may be silly but name them and just look at them often. It helps you to kinda know what they need? I know that sounds silly but it helps! The only reason you should throw them away is disease and you’ll be able to tell. Also you may need to pot them in pots with a drainage hole or just drill a hole in those pots and put a tray under it. That helps overwatering for beginners. I hope all of that helps at all!
Plant tip: it’s always best to keep the plants in their drainage pot and then pop that in a pretty pot! That way the excess water can drain out so the roots won’t rot 💚🪴🌿
a book i always recommend to new plant owners is How Not To Kill Your Houseplant by Veronica Peerless. it covers general basics for plants but also goes in depth on the care and needs of lots of common houseplants! it's super easy to follow and the hardcover version also looks pretty cute on a shelf :~) happy house planting!
Ava we love you here! You are the only vlog TH-camr I watch 😍 I love all your videos and would love to see how you manage to work from home and be productive while working from home… (for all us other girlies managing that too) ❤
I just watched this after being some weeks away from TH-cam, it’s such a nice thing that you share with us your cute little life, well, just a tiny part of it. Thx for sharing, your videos make me feel happy 😊
You’re so real when having Micah try the Olipop!! I remember when my fiancée went with me to get the Berry Poppi flavor and I loved it, but he was like “oh my gosh this is so gross” like okay sir😂
You went plant shopping at Mari's Garden! That's my favorite place to shop for plants. I just recently picked up a monstera thai constelation from them. My fiancé and I have a growing plant collection. I hope you continue with your plant hobby, it's really fun to learn and care for different types of plants.
hi ava! a quick plant tip, the pot that you put the snake plant in (the first one) is too big for how small the plant is. I would suggest repotting it in a smaller pot until it gets a little bigger! also for watering those literally you only have to water maybeee once a month or longer, they can tolerate pretty dry soil
I like longer videos versus short form. Even though I do watch them. But I follow quite a few people on TH-cam. I prefer longer videos from my regulars.
Be mindful of the plants you get in regards to if they are toxic to dogs! Especially with Koda round and potentially getting your own dog in the future
If you get Pothos they are the easiest plant, in my opinion, to take care of. They like medium to low light and only need to be watered once a week. Plus, you never have to buy another one. Once it’s gotten really long, you can trim some of the growth and propagate them and use them for more potted pothos later. (Make sure when you’re trimming to cut below the little notches on the stem. They have a small little brown spot. Those spots, once you put the cutting into water, is where the new roots will sprout.) okay I’m done, love you and your content beautiful💛💛🍝
plants LOVED to be sprayed so buy a cheap spray bottle and spray them with water everyday, you don’t have to do it every day but it’s the best thing for them! :)
iILOVE Hawaii but I just can't with the warm/hot weather all year long! I used to want to move there (Maui) but I need seasons....I do visit once a year though! it's paradise.
wondering if your patio dining set is waterproof or outside proof in general? the wood is beautiful but I would be terrified of the rain or bugs ruining it
I really think moving away from crop tops is the frontal lobe fully developing because we’re the same age and I’ve been feeling the same way. But it’s so hard to find cute full length tops some times!!
watching the last clip felt like a marvel post credit scene 😭😭
HAHAH

love the halloween decor, its so cute but also cozy!
Tip! Don’t put plants on books. Even if there’s no hole in the bottom, the moisture will eventually leave a ring on the books.
