I have watched people like Matt Moreman put more and more layers on and just shake my head, the cost of the products and time to ‘install’ just doesn’t make sense in anyway, no one has proven a benefit from layering and even Matt still had major water spots on his M3 which was only just fully detailed with multi layer, top end coatings etc, these water spots just wouldn’t cut out even after two separate full detail sessions, of cutting, polishing and coating! From what I have experienced and seen, even with top end coatings you need to detail yearly if you want the shine and water repellency, sooner if you use and wash your car all the time. So just cut down on the cost and time and do a detail and single coating annually.
Another stella video Jon, the issues I and many DIY home detailers are its so enjoyable doing all these things that make your car shine, so if you get a Ceramic or graphene coating will this negate the need for waxing and will you be putting wax on top of the coatings and for me if you get any small scratches I would be worried to get the polisher out as I would be removing the coating before getting to the scratches and I for one enjoy these processes so for me Wax will never die and finally not everyone can afford to take there pride and joy to get a professional coating applied.
Same, my paint has cancer from the sun and to be frank, it would take a sanding down and resprsying the car, and clear coating it again. So I just stick with seal & shine with ice spray wax as a topper, I do use a detail spray as a drying aid usually
Wax is not dead. At least in my neighbourhood, it has not even come into existence yet never mind dying! Crazy how most people don't give a toss about doing the bare minimum to protect their cars in this country...
Good to see these boys using rupes too! We also have a dedicated detailing studio at our place. Would be great to talk with you one day mate or have you down one day for a play
@@DavidC1 I would have gone with the flex mini but at the time they didn't offer 1" pads so I opted for the ibrid long neck. However now it's possible to use 1" and also have an extension bar it does make the flex mini a better machine imo
no idea Mike, you would have to side by side them and test them and they have multiple products in the range mate. ill see if martin will let me grab some of it. The thing is its an accredited coating so not sure if my playing around with it and commenting adds value.
Long live wax!
100% Swissvax is my Fav!!
Have you ever met a detailing company who haven’t got ground breaking products that are better than anything else

Wax wont die.not everyone wants to pay out for corrections an coatings.paintwork on my car doesn't justify it.
