    I use to collect sea glass 25 years ago, got tired of collecting but still miss it. You did get a great haul. I use to say 50 points for either blue or red. The pottery is nice as well as the marbles. The piece with lettering is cool as well as the pottery. Today was a great day.

    I must also try my hand at jewelary making,I would love to wire wrap a cobalt blue round marble,and the jewelers ask such a lot of money to do that. That's one of Seaham's old pieces of glass,which I was so fortunate to get,really beautiful.That's one beach where you just can't leave,because of the extraordinary +-100 year old glass,smoothed to jewelary quality by the waves over time. Here in South Africa working with sea glass is not common. We are also a relative "young" country,and don't have the old chuncky pieces that you in the Northen hemisphere have. Stay well and warm.It's such a fulfilling hobby :)

    I just found your channel and have the same question others asked… where abouts on Cape Breton are you? I used to spend days on the shore on the west side and never found the glass you found. Every beach is different. It must be the east side because there’s such a broad horizon. Hope I find more of your videos.

    whoa you must be in West Coast of America , it is well known for its various colours of seaglass , think headlights or taillights / indicators of automobiles or cars as we know them in the UK , oh its Nova Scotia , you have just said in your video , you can display them simply in a large wide mouthed clear glass bottle with a metal lid , mine had bath salts in it , put in all your many coloured seaglass finds , and they are truly ethereal , magical , mystery finds from the oceans of our world , and cover with purchased bought Laundry Water / Liquid , this will resemble the ocean and keep your seaglass in great condition , it never goes mouldy etc., and makes a great display , the smoother the seaglass is it can be in our oceans for at least 70 years , love that fact , and now its finally ended up on Cape Bretton Island , you are such a lucky man to find such a woderful hoard in a few minutes searching , the marbles came from lemonade / mineral bottles and were used as stoppers in the late 1800s and early 1900s they were much prized by children who used them to play games on pavements outside their homes , in the school yards , playgrounds etc., been a seaglass lover and collector since late 90s , live in Belfast , but not every beach has seaglass , tend to find more when I travelled to Scotland and the beaches there , wonderful lady Annie Maginn makes jewellery with it over here , have bought some beautiful pieces from her , including green glass holly Christmas decorations for my Christmas Tree , red beads and copper wirework added , amazing work , have a look
    Ainduna Seaglass Jewellery
    on TH-cam , will give you some ideas !! Happy Hunting nice man , you have a great voice , greeting from the shores of Loch Ryan at my caravan , its a bit dull and rainy this morning , but hopefully the sun will shine later this afternoon , can no longer walk beaches as I have been waiting 6 years for 2 knee replacements on the NHS , and after getting a bad dose of Covid end of last year , now got a Pulmonary
    Embolism / Clot in Each Lung and Vertigo to contend with , thanks very much Mr. Covid , so kind , that on top of Polymyalgia and hereiditary Lymphoedema both legs , I just need rubbed out ( erasered ) and drawn again LOL , upwards and onwards , loved your video , take care 😊🎉😊

    • @ClassSeaGlass

    So is that glass on the beachs is natural glass or old man made glass?

    • @ClassSeaGlass

      All glass is man made glass, just old and tumbled in the ocean tides … it’s really a beautiful thing, thanks for asking 🙌🏻🥰🌊

    What's the history of the area? Is there a reason for the many colors of glass that you found in this area?

    • @ClassSeaGlass
      @ClassSeaGlass  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Coal mining, steel, and glass comes from ships, old dump sites, ect 💙

      Sounds like a piece of black glass/pirate glass ...they came in red , purple, but most commonly Dark green/olive...... it could have been from a bottle...old glass ... nice find!

    You should have kept that orange piece of sea glass to put into a rotary tumbler to fix it up a little, place random pebbles and some sand and water into the tumbler with them to make the same effects that ocean waves make.

    • @ClassSeaGlass
      @ClassSeaGlass  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I only use actual ocean tumbled glass, I know of people who tumble glass and sell it as authentic seaglass, fact is... it’s not.... that would take away from my finds... not add to them.... but I would like to try that with some agate and other rocks on the shore I find 🙌🏻🥰🌊
