The positioning of the analogue sticks on the Xbox controller is way better. The left thumbstick is positioned where your left thumb naturally lies, so you don't have to awkwardly bend it to the right to control your character. On the other hand, if you use the d-pad for movement (which rarely happens) then the PS controller is way better.

I've always owned xboxes since the original. But I have had too many 360's that have failed due to it's scrappy hardware. I'm frustrated with them and am happy to say I'm getting a PlayStation product for the FIRST time ever lol. I own a DS4 and I love it more than the 360 one already. Less than a week left!

Also the UI. Can't even compare the UI of both consoles. The XB1's actually feels like a cool next gen dashboard, and has so many ppl features, and full, while the ps4's is so plain, and doesn't look as filled up. And microsoft updates almost every month, or ever 2 weeks, it seems.
But the thing is they didn't need to improve that much. The 360 controller was near perfect anyway. Anything is a big improvement over that DS3 controller.

Naqib Harith bought a dualshock 4 a couple of weeks ago, best controller i've ever used period. most ppl dont like the dualshock controllers cuz of the layout with the d-pad above the analog stick and i can see why they dont like that, but trust me everything else makes up for that, the control is nearly flawless thanks to the smoothest analog sticks ever as well as having next to no deadzone on the analog sticks to begin with which gives even smoother control in games, plus i personally like the dualshock layout anyway, the analog stick is closer to my thumb which actually allows me to do somethings that I cant do with a xbox controller, in metroid 2 remake on PC, I can do wall jumps with next to no effort using the analog stick on the DS4, with an xbox controller, ugh its actaully more difficult to do, its most likely that the analog stick is higher up on the controller which leads me to accidentally pushing up and right or down and left on the controller, even if its very slight that stuff gets recognized by the game which has some of the best contrl ever
They are both amazing and I’ve tried both. I really like the DualShock 4 though because of its touchpad, nice rounded smooth feel, and it’s multicolored light. I also like that you can buy separate back pedals for it which is rather cool.

XBOX One controller is better, I think even PS users can agree with this. It just way more comfortable in your hand and the analog stick placement is just brilliant.
I have both ,and here are their cons (in my opinion) Dualshock 4: -Thumbsticks and R2 button wears out too soon (the rubber on the left stick started peeling within a year, and the R2 button started sticking shortly after) -Low internal battery life (I was able to get around 6 hours of playing time when I first got the PS4, but now I only get around 3. I would have preferred using rachargeable AA batteries since the controller would never have to be connected to a cord) -D-pad and Button area is too glossy (glossy objects and fingers don't go well together) XB1 Controller: -Bumper buttons feel awkward to press (newer controllers don't have this issue) -No headphone jack (newer controllers now have a headphone jack) -Bumper/Trigger and Home button are too glossy. (I don't like seeing smudges) After spending a considerable amount of time with both, I prefer the xbox one controller. A lot of people knock it for still using AA batteries, but I prefer switching out rechargeable batteries rather than having to plug in a controller; unfortunately the DS4 has to be plugged in often because of it's short battery life. I also dislike how the DS4 lacks durability. The left thumbstick and R2 button issue really bothers me.
I have a ds4 since the day it came out. I play COD with it almost everyday, as well as a bunch of other games, but a lot of hardcore COD. The controller is still in perfect condition. No thumbsticks wearing off, no nothing. It's been almost 2 years. No one I know has that thumb stick problem. I think maybe yours had a manufacturing flaw.
Omar El Shazli They're pretty common issues. I thought I was the only one at first, but when I researched it, I found many youtube videos and video game forums discussing these exact problems.
The Xbox One controller is simply amazing! I tried it out at a local Futureshop and was blown away by how confortable and light it is in comparison. It doesn't look comfy but believe me it is. The PS controllers are uncomfortable and the side by side sticks are awkward. Touchpad is useless and so is that light on the back. The Xbox One control is far superior, especially with the tumble trigger which work exceptionally well.
The simple fact that I can plug in ANY 3.5mm jacked headphones including ones with a mic for an iPhone is a major plus, the addition of being able to play either just chat audio and/or all game audio through it is just the icing on the cake.

The only reason why Xbox One games at the moment run at 720p is because the developers only had a certain amount of time to work on it. IT WAS THE FIRST TIME. With brand new tech. Nothing comes out perfect at first. The guy (forgot his name) who worked on COD Ghosts stated what I just said. So really I'm only pointing that out. And people stop saying OH THIS GUY CONFIRMED IT!! That is the same case as PS4. The PS4 will be able to run WAY better in the future. Its better specs also mean that like the PS3, it has less bottlenecks and will live longer than the Xbox One. If you compare the end of this generation to how the PS3 started, it is crazy the comeback it made. By the end of the generation Xbox ran out of good games while PS3 was killing it with the likes of The Last of Us and many others, things that would not run on Xbox.
Definitely agree that devs are new to the different hardware, but both consoles have an x86 structure. So why is it that then the PS4 is 1080p on Ghosts yet the Xbox One is 720p? Not fanboying, I love both consoles, but just saying.
To the idiots saying having batteries or having a play and charge kit is more convinent please shut up, becuase you have to pay $25 for a play and charge kit. And that can die as well meaning that you would have to buy another play and charge kit for $25 totaling $50 plus tax when I can buy a brand new dual shock4 controller for that much. So no matter how you slice it the xbox one controller should not still be using AA batteries in the year 2013 period.
just an example of how the lights would be useful for me, i admit the low health flash is a gimmick i don't much care for, but as a gamer that has a lot of friends round and also games with the wife and kids, a controller with a light that identifies which player number it is by a color coded light is very helpful for them moments when i make a cup of coffee or go to the toilet, or simply take a break before returning to gaming.
After getting a DS4 early and using it. I have to say they really didn't mention the ergonomic factor that the DS4 brings. They really improved the controllers grips and now it fits much nicer into the hands, leaving the thumbs more centered on the buttons. Also the texture on the analog sticks have so much more grip and feel so much more solid than before. Obviously there are the improved triggers, and the texture on the back of the controller feels so nice. I think overall Sony really made a great improvement to their controller and it seems like all of the imporvements are a bit underrated here. I am excited to see it fully functioning on a PS4 :D I

You may be able to play for 1-2 weeks, BUT is it 1-2 weeks strait of pure gaming? Probably not, otherwise you would be dead from sleep deprivation. I can go for maybe 3-6 hours before having to put that god damn short ass recharging cabal in. The rechargeable batteries, (sense I get the badass ones) last about probably a month strait before having to put new ones in. Shit, you may not have to buy ne batteries for years if you get the good ones, and there not expensive ether. Plus, are you that god damn lazy to simply take batteries out and put in new ones.

I own both a 360 and PS3, so I don't have any allegiance to either system. that being said, the Xbox 360's triggers were better than PS3's for shooters (mainly because of the shape) but they weren't that good because they didn't provide feedback, have resistance on them, or capable of being used for different purposes if held down halfway or fully. The place where PS3 dominates in terms of controllers is for fighting games. After playing nearly every fighting game on the 360, I've learned it's almost impossible to play fighting games on the Xbox controller because the D-Pad has NO precision whatsoever. Also its positioning isn't good for fighting games because it is too low and far in. I hope the new D-Pad will be better because Killer Instinct looks pretty sick. Otherwise I'll have to go with PS4 for fighting games.

I have a PS4 and i love it, but when i was at Tesco (dont hurt me) there was an Xbox one X set up to play game demos, and when i picked up the controller and tried it out my life changed... It's WAAAAAAY better then the DS4! and i love the DS4 to oblivion, dont get me wrong. But it's just simply way more comfortable and the triggers and the shoulder buttons are amazing!

I've held both controllers and in my opinion they're both amazing but I liked the PS4 controller better. This is coming from someone who is a 360 gamer. PS4 will dominate next-gen. All Xbox has honestly now is Halo. PS4 has free games monthly and amazing exclusive games. Dead Rising 3 doesn't look appealing to me and I've gotten all Dead Rising 1 achievements. But as far as controllers, I like the PS4 =D
I'm only glad about how the ps4 controller fixed the toggles so that your thumbs won't slid off. Also the triggers look more like triggers and may feel like a trigger as the 360 did.
He didn't really point out the change in the PS4 triggers, but I like them compared to the Daulshock 3 triggers. My fingers would slip because of the way that it was curved. the Daulshock 4 has triggers that are curved in the other direction, which is nice.

Guys, if you are looking for which controller feels better it is suggested to try them out first because they are each built for different types of hands, if you want to grab and hold it with medium/small size hands go for ps4, if you have longer fingers and/or hands go for xbox, if you want the controller to sit on you instead of holding it and moving around and such or overall gripping then go for xbox, xbox is not meant for grip, its similar to how you choose a mouse, depends on your preference of how you use it and of course by how your hands are shaped. TL;DR Its subjective, test and see what feels best for you.

Where the DS4 really fails is how easy it is to accidentally hit the option, and share buttons, also the touchpad being in the way, and takes up so much space, and easy to accidentally press.
The light bar is useless you will be more likely to focus on the screen then the back of the controller and they improved the triggers but they are not as good as XBOX ONE impulse TRIGGERS also Microsoft barely changed the controller because the 360 was the best controller ever.
I'm an Xbox fan so of course I prefer the Xbox One controller. The DS4 definitely looks better than the DS3 though and the sticks are farther apart so it should feel less awkward for shooters.

Naqib Harith bought a dualshock 4 a couple of weeks ago, best controller i've ever used period. most ppl dont like the dualshock controllers cuz of the layout with the d-pad above the analog stick and i can see why they dont like that, but trust me everything else makes up for that, the control is nearly flawless thanks to the smoothest analog sticks ever as well as having next to no deadzone on the analog sticks to begin with which gives even smoother control in games, plus i personally like the dualshock layout anyway, the analog stick is closer to my thumb which actually allows me to do somethings that I cant do with a xbox controller, in metroid 2 remake on PC, I can do wall jumps with next to no effort using the analog stick on the DS4, with an xbox controller, ugh its actaully more difficult to do, its most likely that the analog stick is higher up on the controller which leads me to accidentally pushing up and right or down and left on the controller, even if its very slight that stuff gets recognized by the game which has some of the best contrl ever

They are both amazing and I’ve tried both. I really like the DualShock 4 though because of its touchpad, nice rounded smooth feel, and it’s multicolored light. I also like that you can buy separate back pedals for it which is rather cool.

XBOX One controller is better, I think even PS users can agree with this. It just way more comfortable in your hand and the analog stick placement is just brilliant.
I have both ,and here are their cons (in my opinion)
Dualshock 4:
-Thumbsticks and R2 button wears out too soon (the rubber on the left stick started peeling within a year, and the R2 button started sticking shortly after)
-Low internal battery life (I was able to get around 6 hours of playing time when I first got the PS4, but now I only get around 3. I would have preferred using rachargeable AA batteries since the controller would never have to be connected to a cord)
-D-pad and Button area is too glossy (glossy objects and fingers don't go well together)
XB1 Controller:
-Bumper buttons feel awkward to press (newer controllers don't have this issue)
-No headphone jack (newer controllers now have a headphone jack)
-Bumper/Trigger and Home button are too glossy. (I don't like seeing smudges)
After spending a considerable amount of time with both, I prefer the xbox one controller. A lot of people knock it for still using AA batteries, but I prefer switching out rechargeable batteries rather than having to plug in a controller; unfortunately the DS4 has to be plugged in often because of it's short battery life. I also dislike how the DS4 lacks durability. The left thumbstick and R2 button issue really bothers me.

I have a ds4 since the day it came out. I play COD with it almost everyday, as well as a bunch of other games, but a lot of hardcore COD. The controller is still in perfect condition. No thumbsticks wearing off, no nothing. It's been almost 2 years. No one I know has that thumb stick problem. I think maybe yours had a manufacturing flaw.
Omar El Shazli They're pretty common issues. I thought I was the only one at first, but when I researched it, I found many youtube videos and video game forums discussing these exact problems.
The Xbox One controller is simply amazing! I tried it out at a local Futureshop and was blown away by how confortable and light it is in comparison. It doesn't look comfy but believe me it is. The PS controllers are uncomfortable and the side by side sticks are awkward. Touchpad is useless and so is that light on the back. The Xbox One control is far superior, especially with the tumble trigger which work exceptionally well.
The simple fact that I can plug in ANY 3.5mm jacked headphones including ones with a mic for an iPhone is a major plus, the addition of being able to play either just chat audio and/or all game audio through it is just the icing on the cake.
I remember when i hold the xbox 360 controller for the first time and i felt like its the best controller ever made.

The only reason why Xbox One games at the moment run at 720p is because the developers only had a certain amount of time to work on it. IT WAS THE FIRST TIME. With brand new tech. Nothing comes out perfect at first. The guy (forgot his name) who worked on COD Ghosts stated what I just said. So really I'm only pointing that out. And people stop saying OH THIS GUY CONFIRMED IT!! Cuz they most likely didn't. Put a link up proving it. THEN ILL BELIEVE YOU. Me I'm not fanboying Xbox One at all. I'm getting it first though. I like the feel of it better. That is the same case as PS4. The PS4 will be able to run WAY better in the future. Its better specs also mean that like the PS3, it has less bottlenecks and will live longer than the Xbox One. If you compare the end of this generation to how the PS3 started, it is crazy the comeback it made. By the end of the generation Xbox ran out of good games while PS3 was killing it with the likes of The Last of Us and many others, things that would not run on Xbox.

And that can die as well meaning that you would have to buy another play and charge kit for $25 totaling $50 plus tax when I can buy a brand new dual shock4 controller for that much. just an example of how the lights would be useful for me, i admit the low health flash is a gimmick i don't much care for, but as a gamer that has a lot of friends round and also games with the wife and kids, a controller with a light that identifies which player number it is by a color coded light is very helpful for them moments when i make a cup of coffee or go to the toilet, or simply take a break before returning to gaming.
The xbox has 780 vs the ps4 that had 1080 pd. It's graphics are so much better, but I do LOVE the xbox controller being a xbox player
After getting a DS4 early and using it. I have to say they really didn't mention the ergonomic factor that the DS4 brings. They really improved the controllers grips and now it fits much nicer into the hands, leaving the thumbs more centered on the buttons. Also the texture on the analog sticks have so much more grip and feel so much more solid than before. Obviously there are the improved triggers, and the texture on the back of the controller feels so nice. I think overall Sony really made a great improvement to their controller and it seems like all of the imporvements are a bit underrated here. I am excited to see it fully functioning on a PS4 :D I

Sony didn't dissapoint. Why because the controler is rechargeable usein a usb cable like ps3. ^-^ that saves me money. And its convinant. And for the Xbox 1 you still waste spend money for batteries. XD Xbox sucks for that. Playstation is great for the rechargeable controler.

In short, the X1 and PS4 controllers are just improved versions of the X360 and PS3 controllers, so if you had a 360, get the X1, if you had a PS4, get the PS4. If you had the Wii, slap yourself in the face and think about all that wasted money.

You may be able to play for 1-2 weeks, BUT is it 1-2 weeks strait of pure gaming? Probably not, otherwise you would be dead from sleep deprivation. I can go for maybe 3-6 hours before having to put that god damn short ass recharging cabal in. The rechargeable batteries, (sense I get the badass ones) last about probably a month strait before having to put new ones in. Shit, you may not have to buy ne batteries for years if you get the good ones, and there not expensive ether. Plus, are you that god damn lazy to simply take batteries out and put in new ones.

I own both a 360 and PS3, so I don't have any allegiance to either system. that being said, the Xbox 360's triggers were better than PS3's for shooters (mainly because of the shape) but they weren't that good because they didn't provide feedback, have resistance on them, or capable of being used for different purposes if held down halfway or fully.
The place where PS3 dominates in terms of controllers is for fighting games. After playing nearly every fighting game on the 360, I've learned it's almost impossible to play fighting games on the Xbox controller because the D-Pad has NO precision whatsoever. Also its positioning isn't good for fighting games because it is too low and far in. I hope the new D-Pad will be better because Killer Instinct looks pretty sick. Otherwise I'll have to go with PS4 for fighting games.
honestly i have been a sony fan since day one of the ps1, but there is no way to deny that the controller has left me wishing for more. this being said i wasnt a huge fan of the xbox controller either. i always thought that it was bulky and uncomfortable no matter how ergonomically designed the controller was. i hope and pray the dualshock 4 fixes all my qualms on the dualshock
I have a PS4 and i love it, but when i was at Tesco (dont hurt me) there was an Xbox one X set up to play game demos, and when i picked up the controller and tried it out my life changed... It's WAAAAAAY better then the DS4! and i love the DS4 to oblivion, dont get me wrong. But it's just simply way more comfortable and the triggers and the shoulder buttons are amazing!

I've held both controllers and in my opinion they're both amazing but I liked the PS4 controller better. This is coming from someone who is a 360 gamer. PS4 will dominate next-gen. All Xbox has honestly now is Halo. PS4 has free games monthly and amazing exclusive games. Dead Rising 3 doesn't look appealing to me and I've gotten all Dead Rising 1 achievements. But as far as controllers, I like the PS4 =D

I'm only glad about how the ps4 controller fixed the toggles so that your thumbs won't slid off. Also the triggers look more like triggers and may feel like a trigger as the 360 did.
He didn't really point out the change in the PS4 triggers, but I like them compared to the Daulshock 3 triggers. My fingers would slip because of the way that it was curved. the Daulshock 4 has triggers that are curved in the other direction, which is nice.

Guys, if you are looking for which controller feels better it is suggested to try them out first because they are each built for different types of hands, if you want to grab and hold it with medium/small size hands go for ps4, if you have longer fingers and/or hands go for xbox, if you want the controller to sit on you instead of holding it and moving around and such or overall gripping then go for xbox, xbox is not meant for grip, its similar to how you choose a mouse, depends on your preference of how you use it and of course by how your hands are shaped.
TL;DR Its subjective, test and see what feels best for you.

Where the DS4 really fails is how easy it is to accidentally hit the option, and share buttons, also the touchpad being in the way, and takes up so much space, and easy to accidentally press.
There is no doubt that xbox has the best controller. I have a 360 and a ps3. but the 360 controller is way better.
