It is well known that the mods get terrible wages and work in the 2nd most expensive city in the UK. They have to be selling gold on the side to survive, I'd actually be shocked if they weren't.
no thats ridiculous. its incredibly easy to detect gold sellers and buyers, they would be detected banned and fired immeditally and anyone who bought gold would be banned. they can see literally every little thing you do, and they can replay everything that has happened in the game from the beginning of it. they could see every click, rightclick, mouse movement etc. from the beginning of osrs. no jmod is buying and selling gold.
This is incorrect. They most certainly cannot "replay" anything, furthermore, its very hard to determine whether or not a player is buying/selling gold, or simply transfering accounts. If one digs deep enough, you can find communities that buy/sell gold, not websites, that go through thorough measures to make any transaction look as if it's merely a swap between friends, a main to a pure, etc. Sure they can go through logs and make decisions, but to know with certainty is next to impossible. Jagex has made it clear, there are no issues with transferring gold between accounts and friends. I do however agree with you, JMods, you'd think would be monitored heavily, but even that looks to be incorrect, at least at one point in time. @@TezzyRs

So I remember the bot nuke and was there for it, Bots were everywhere (legit mean EVERYWHERE) and it was so bad that you legit couldn't skill normally and had to fight over a tree and many other things but I can say the bots were indeed keeping a lot of stuff alive on the game like GE (player market), Minigames, so on there was Good and Bad from the bots. When the bots were removed fully, You could easily see the major changes in the game and how fast everything was going down hill, Minigames were dead af, The GE was all over the place (prices were all over the place), Worlds were feeling like a open desert it was truly bad overall tbh but taken awhile for rs to get over that issue as years went on. Then OSRS came around and well I can say that didn't help rs3 at all as it really just made rs3 even more dead then it already was. So was the bot nuke all that needed? yes and no, Tbh if the bots were still around to this day then likely there wouldn't be any balance at all for the GE and it would've got much worse and skilling would've been not possible. It's a 50/50 tbh but even today on rs3 it's already like that now, Minigames are dead, GE is out of control, Skilling is pretty much pointless, list of problems go on so doesn't really matter if they did the bot nuke or not as it would've lap in the same path.
In somebodies defense, hiring the person who can defeat your system is generally the smart thing. Hackers, virus makers, spies, all that has a place on the other side. So why not botters per say. But nothing is ever that straight forward. I also tried Power Miner for a few hours once. Just got a rune Pickaxe, set it up, came back I died, lost my axe cause the head fell off or cause nothing was kept at death, from random events. Made me so mad I never tried that again. Took a month to save up for that Rune. I became a holy RunEscaper after that. Like before, hard work is the key. Or being very good at multitasking.
YES! but not far enough, not just members, but all players, or at least as much as possible, id love to see that, a week long, and then 2 weeks, and make it clear what the players want, which i think needs to include, among other things REACHABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, someone with mod authority because of the next item, FALSE BANS, i was false banned, countless others too, and very few of us have the platform to get the mods notice so unless we are the lucky few to reach one on reddit or twitter(i have yet to reach one), we are screwed, and the last one, REPLACE THAT FAULTY DETECTION SYSTEM, its grabbing honest players, such as but not limited to ME, well one more item, TELL US WHAT WE DID IF BANNED! what did i do?! i was accused of botting, but i never botted, was it a malicious report? im autistic, i play in repeated patterns was that it? any player banned deserves to know the details to PROPERLY appeal. until or unless this is done, can we at least get some kind of website for players that have been false banned to share stories on? some way to MAYBE get a mods attention?
look company's hiring someone that knows the game inside and out no matter what the back ground is even if they were hacking their systems is not out of the ordinary . the us government hires so many criminal hackers due to this fact. like what better way to combat botting than haveing the best bot script writer in the world help code your bot protection. its a smart move...
