What a delight to have this guy on the Illini team! Too bad we didn’t get Jones too. I grew up far closer to SIU, and it also was the University that did recruit the best from our area. My wife was attending SIU when we dated, and I knew a little point guard (originally from my home town), Mouse Garrett. The off guard was from Marion. I recall them killing Wisconsin at the SIU arena. Their round assembly hall was a compromise with the State legislature, because the U of I got the big space saucer. Sadly, to me (having lived in California for 40 years) the areas south of the I-70 have deteriorated to an alarming level, approaching the poverty areas in Appalachia. SIU seems to be on an enrollment up-tick after having dropped to 1/2 of its once large size. TO SEE TWO OF THEIR FORMER PLAYERS MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE, ONE OF THE BEST IN THE BIG 10, the OTHER RESCUING ILLINOIS, ESPECIALLY AFTER LOSING SHANNON. Marcus should definitely be at least a second team all-conference, if not more.

He is the real deal, prolific scorer.
I didn't know that Marcus Domask was such a player with huge potential. I believe Domask, Shannon Jr, Guerrier, Rodgers, and Hawkins will guide Illinois to Big Ten Titles + higher than 2nd round in the NCAA March Madness.
I wish that Lance Jones had joined Domask at Illinois.

Why didn't we target Lance? Would have been a perfect fit. Glad we got Marcus. Last year the second best player and sidekick to TSJ was Mayer. Now it's Marcus. What an upgrade. It's not just on the court, it's also off the court. His personality just fits. Character over characters!

Worst case you have a player like Luka in your gleague to help others get used to playing with Luka and maybe Domask turns into.m a rotation guy
