Yes, the Leona Lewis version was a cover. It was not only done first by Snow Patrol, but written by their lead singer (actually, the whole band seem to be credited with writing it).
She sang this at the age of 10 'Run' at the Beach and it was amazing of vocals talented the voice pitch pure clean plain pefect. Then at the age of 15 also sing this again, this time her vocals it's more maturity rounded depth beautiful pitch perfect very nice voice she is amazing voice the I have never heard.
Lucy is a phenomenal vocalist oozing with talent that is destined to take her to the stars. Lucy is in a class of her own, out singing even the greats with her covers of some of the most challenging songs ever written. I hope you continue to feature Lucy. She is a powerful force that deserves all the recognition she gets.

Another far superior sung and much better than the original. Run being one of Lucy’s old favourites and mine too. This probably the first song to hook me on Lucy. I hadn’t heard this song for some time and like you was getting goosebumps at her impressive rendition, so clear and no wavering to get on note. Hey Dazza, if you DO do 'Footprints in the sand' you'll see clips of a ten year old Lucy running around on a beach, I might be wrong but I believe it's Ainsdale beach near Southport. Anyway those clips are taken from one of her first videos which was also Snow Patrol's 'Run'. Even at ten years old, and in an earlier one from the year before, Disney's 'Colours of the wind' the pure talent on show is unbelievable.

Broken Dreams exhibits Lucy's incredible range and power but it's in amongst some really tough competition for Best Song (in my opinion) like her duets With Will Callan - Hold On and Above the Clouds, and all of them so memorable. People will be humming these songs when they leave the theatres. Thats the talent of the brilliant Chris Broom.
