I honestly wished dr facile’s daughter was in the movie more. She has a cool design and the way she was set up I thought she was going to be a major plot point.
She’s in the animated series more. There more characters in the animated series and often times character are older in the animated series (ex. Dr facillers daughter is the same age as the rest)

I mean, Hades is super misunderstood in the original mythology, so I´m kinda glad he wasn´t made an iredeemable villain. I´m happy to see more content, that includes him as the morally grey character, he should be.

I haven´t read Percy Jackson, but I´d assume they'd be going for at least a decent portrayal, since those books are so heavily inspired by the mythos. I like mythology - maybe I should read those books? When I have time for it that is ^^'
I have ALWAYS loved Hades. Last year my daughter went as Mal for Halloween and I dressed as Maleficent. We tried getting my boyfriend to go as Hades but that didn't happen unfortunately 😭. I was so excited to see Hades make an appearance in Descendants as Mal's dad. In my opinion, this is the best "character" to be Mal's dad.
He deserved better in this movie. Mal just left him out to pasture when he helped her and saved Audrey who she almost killed.
I get earning the trust back, but he did not deserve to be imprisoned either.

Yeah Cameron (Carlos) was such a good dancer and actor and the fact that he passed away so suddenly and so young is just heartbreaking, especially if you've were following it in real time, seeing all his friends and families reactions (those from this cast alone were devastating)
Especially a cause of death where nothing could of been done. I was completely unaware epilepsy can just cause sudden death with no warning overnight thats fucking scary.
Fr I was so upset when he died I genuinely couldn't process that especially since from what I remember he died before Descendants 3 came out
I still remember sitting in my room at 2 am just scrolling through TH-cam and finding out he died nearly a day ago (from that time) it felt so surreal

@@jalapeno1119 Hercules is a demigod, not a god. And there's a reason why Hades would never be locked up in the mythology. He's the first born son of Kronos, the world is literally his birthright. And yeah, there's a slight delay, but everyone will die and become his subject eventually. They can't lock him up without finding someone to take his place, and given how important and powerful his position is, that would basically cause another war with all the gods vying for his power. Not only that, but the gods are amoral, they don't exist within what we think of as good or bad, they're too big and complicated for those words. The Greek Gods were never intended to be good, they were meant to be true. Aphrodite isn't just the goddess of love, the way she acts is a personification of love. Demeter is acts as the personification of nature, Poseidon as the personification of the sea, and so on. There's no reason to lock someone up for acting on their nature, for being true to themselves, both in what they create and destroy. Disney took the Greek myths and did really strange things with it in the Hercules movie, so when you start to pull at the random threads that don't make sense, it all falls apart.

Love this video because Hannah is definitely her true self. She gets bored, she starts looking on her phone. She realizes her camera battery is dead, she takes the opportunity to grab a snack.

One thing I found super weird about this trilogy is how it didn't seem to age with it's audience. The first one was for a group of people. The second one was for that same group of people and a bit more mature since that group of people was older (except for the talking dog 🙄). But the third one (at least in my opinion) was aimed at a much younger audience even though the original group had gotten older. I was 11 when the first one came out which was probably the target demographic. Then I was 13 for the second one and it grew up with me in a way. But then the third one had so much "little kid humor" that it wasn't as enjoyable for a 15 year old.
tl:dr the third one aimed for the wrong audience imo
Cheyenne Jackson, Cameron Boyce, and Sofia Carson are what saved the movie for me.
This happened to me with Hannah Montana. I was 10 when the series first came out and in its Target demographic. Maybe even a little younger as the show is about middle school. But by the third season, it felt like the show was catered towards 6 year olds. The show didn't grow with its audience. The 4th season was a lot better.
Also fun fact. First movie has 6 months between the second movie story wise. The third has at least 1 year or even 2.
Fun Fact: when Hades growls at the Beast, its actually Cheyenne Jackson (Hades) making that noise. It also wasn't in the script if I'm not mistaken.

My kids loved the songs in this one, especially Queen of Mean and Night Falls. They've definitely watched this one more than the other two. My five year old son went through a phase where he was always asking to see "watch your back, watch your back" and he'd run around like a maniac and then try to do all the armor dances.
This one was actually my favorite. Songs were great, storyline was really good and the costumes were awesome.
I love how Hannah is saying what LITERALLY everyone was thinking when we watched this, with the reactions and everything...like the chemistry between jay and Gil🤣
The first time I watched this series, I could not stop thinking that Jay and Harry had had a lot of chaotic bi energy. They argue like there's some kind of history between them, and Harry seems oddly jealous of Jay and Gil connecting.

I do love Audrey's 'evil' look and song, but I think her motivations are really thin. If they'd started playing her up as a villain in the first, it might've felt more genuine to me, but it just feels like she was the typical scorned girlfriend when she got dumped but made peace with it (happy and dancing with Mal and the others in the end of the first), then randomly snapped years later when her ex proposed to someone that wasn't her. I know they had her grandma kinda badgering her, but it still feels thin. Especially coming off of Uma being the villain in the last one, with a lifetime of rough times and resentment to fuel her actions. Audrey kinda just comes off a spoiled brat who suddenly hit an emo phase when she didn't get what she wanted.
She kinda is built up as the villain in the prequel short. We get explained where she was during the second movie and it's made clear that she's still angry about this, even going through this whole makeover because Ben apparently likes a 'Bad Girl'.
She did seem like kind of a spoiled brat to me throughout the movies
I mean I do think it's kinda the point of the character... She's a spoiled brat. Also, it's not very clear but she's under the influence of Maleficent's scepter that whole time, she doesn't turn super evil out of the blue
@@mariejoris2052 She sings about becoming the Queen of Mean and breaks into the museum to steal the crown BEFORE she even gets near the scepter, though. Yeah, the scepter made her worse, but it wasn't the reason she turned 'bad'.
It's implied she was there just to steal the crown in spite, but the scepter felt her negativity and called her, hypnotizing her in becoming a full villain
I kinda agree about the plot, but I loved most of the songs in this movie! Break This Down is my favorite which is probably an unpopular opinion but something about the rhythm is so addictive to me. I also love Good to Be Bad (it’s my favorite opening song out of the three movies), Night Falls, and My Once Upon a Time (mostly because I’m a musical theater major in college who loves singing it lol)

Hades and Mals song was to show him like a rockstar but also immature. While eventually showing that they’re very similar. That’s why they did the “I’m over you bein over it”
The last song Mal sang was also Dove Cameron's favorite because it wasn't so "produced" or autotuned as her previous songs. It was true to her voice. I'm sad you didn't like this last one, it is one of my favorites, you're absolutely right, no plot points but it's just a fun and entertaining movie =)
Once Upon A Time is my favorite song from this movie too. I do gotta agree with most of Hannah's opinions about this movie. Bal isn't my favorite ship in regards to their just teenagers. I also thought that Mal didn't want to get married in the second movie. I don't know anything about wigs and fashion, so I can't say much about that. They're so many plot holes, it drives me crazy. But, yeah, definitely agree that it is absolutely a fun and entertaining movie.

I'm not talking about the holes from the books though. I'm talking about the plot holes that the movie created that could've been explored.

I love Hannah, but I feel like she was having way too much expectations for a Disney movie. The only reason why I like these movies is because I allowed myself too. Let's be real.... It's all very silly and the plots are all questionable. You just need to embrace that in the end of the day, is a Disney movie, it's going to be silly. This is not even criticism for her, it's just a way to enjoy this kind of thing. I completely understand why she didn't like it.

I really don't like the soundtrack of this movie. But then again.. I don't like the whole movie.
They should have stopped at the first tbh.

Now to be fair, the second Hannah said "Evie is a goddess" I made a vow to forgive everything she said. That said, I KEEP FORGETTING THAT THIS SERIES HAS TIE-IN BOOKS PEOPLE ARE SUPPOSED TO READ TO KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING OUTSIDE THE MOVIES. The only reason I knew Ben + Co were out of high school and Evie was his advisor was because of people on Tumblr. But Hannah is right! People should have been concerned because to 90% of us watching this for the first time, they were still in high school and hadn't graduated yet!
True, but even if you read the tie-in books information kept conflicting and everything they did was pretty pointless since it never has any consequences later on. Plus their characters tend to fluctuate between the books and the movies.

Hate to say it, friends, but Sarah Jeffery ate everyone else up in this film. She was having a wee bit too much fun being evil, but she brought the campy energy a film series like Descendants should have to the table.

Her song was the only thing that could be used in her favor. Other than that, Uma was the better antagonist and her acting was far better when it came to playing the big bad. Sarah was trying to hard to be comical as Evil Audrey when she could've focused on acting more menacing.
I mean she played a good villain, sure, but I couldn’t get over how thin her motives were. Hades and Uma were better in my opinion.

I actually think that "queen on mean" is the best song of the movie, and it FITS with the plot and there's some evolving in it too (not like the rest) - and you enjoyed it, too! while you were watching it!
I do like this movie but my favorite song is Audry's song before turning fully evil. Sarah has an amazing voice and it shows with that song in my opinion also you should read the books that were written based on these movies because they give so much more detail into the characters and how they became a group of friends and also Mal is in the first book at least so much more ciniving and evil. Also in the books there is a school on the island which is interesting as well.
I think Mal's love potion had some side effect on Ben's brain. He was pretty smart before

I was definitely on Audrey's side in this movie. I was so sick of Mal and Ben. Audrey just needed better motivation than losing a guy and a better redemption arc like if she would've found strength and self-esteem in her use of magic.
Also, I agree, all the conflict was resolved entirely too quickly. Nothing in the movie amounted to anything more than a mild inconvenience. Old spell? Cleared up by the barrier. Involuntary beast transformation? A little lake water ought to do the trick. Like why didn't Jane just use the lake water to wake everyone up if it can dispell the curse? That would've been an interesting subplot for Jane.
Honestly that beast plot device was probably solely used to show Mitchell with facial hair 🤷🏾♀️💀💀💀
Ikr Mal stole her boyfriend who proceeded to humiliate her in front of the entire school, I would be angry too, and don't even get me started on her grandmother

@@svpcrnly Mal was trying to steal Fairy Godmother wand for most of the first movie so the Villains could take over, I mean sure maybe Ben and Aud didn't have chemistry but Ben humiliated her in front of the whole school (so mean) because of Mal's spell which she used to get a seat closer to the wand at Ben's coronation
I love the foreshadowing from last movie in the song Chillin' like a Villain: "Let me tell you something you can really trust- Everybody's got a wicked side".
At 8:00 in the first movie Mal stole candy from a kid but she just said that they have never had candy.

I have to disagree about Evie's song. She was raised to want to marry royalty, and yet she's realized that she loves Doug... and she doesn't know if he loves her. So this kiss will prove not only if Doug loves her too, but also if her whole deviation to her own path is right or not. Plus, I love the whole 50s / 60s vibe. ; P
But, yeah, the rest of the songs are meh.
also what if doug was'nt his true love I would love the nervousness about true loves kiss to be explored more to be honest.
my frustration with that song was very much Mal's and Uma's frustration: "We don't have time for this!" For Evie's character arc it makes sense, and I don't mind it musically, but of all the times to have that level of a personal breakdown she chose a really poor one lol
@@dwell7315 but if you think about it emotional breakdowns happen at random times... you can't pick and choose when they happen... plus this has been going on throughout the entire movie with little hints from their characters about the first time saying the words "i love you"...
didn't want to say I told you so....... but I TOLD YA SO! 😭 I was highly disappointed in this being the final movie out of the trilogy. The plot, the costuming, the budget, and the musical composition was a big let down compared to how HSM ended. Loved the reaction Hannah 💜 your personality is iconiccc 💅🏽

The part where audrey sings „something‘s pulling me, it‘s so magnetic…“ you can hear a voice actually calling her name. I think you can’t hear it in the video because it got cut out, but I thought that was really cool

The reason everyone is so upset about Mal’s lie is because her idea is to close the barrier for good. No more in and out, no more brining VK’s to Auradon, she wanted to leave them high and dry. It was to protect Auradon, but it was still a betrayal to her friends and the people they promised to help.
The thing with Evie's wig is that i forgot the problem with it everytime i watch it because Sofia's beauty overpowers the failure of the wig 😂

the descendants trilogy made my childhood and bro am i addicted to watching Hannah react to these movies!! It's really good because I identify myself and find, nowadays, some specific scenes or situations very funny and cheesy! Even so, I still like this saga, really haha
