This reminds me of my family's song of our small hometown taken over and destroyed by the PRC during the Chinese Civil War, the song is also about a small flower that is a symbol of resistance and lost for the homeland we once knew. This brings tears to my eyes thinking about that.

Christopher Plummer (Captain von Trapp) & Charmian Carr's (Liesl) performance was so moving that it made Angela Cartwright (Brigitta) cry in-scene.
And that wasn't in the script. The little one just was just emotionaly overwhelmed by the song. She (Angela) was fantastic in the role of Briggita.
