Man it’s been a while since I’ve watched any motovlogers. Glad to see you are sticking to you and still making great content. So many just changed and it got boring and annoying. Keep up the great work.
Instead of using clamps to switch to a fat bar you can use the xsr700 handlebar clamps. No need to use two pieces. I went with that and the xsr handlebar on mine. More upright position and wider as well. Really loving where this is going. Keep it up.
Stick some WD 40 between the grip and the bar with the little red straw. Give it a few mins and twist it right off. I use this method when I want to keep my bar scratch free.
Hey Jake, bike's looking good. I don't know how to message on youtube, but I have found a (cheap!) way to add 2" of length to stock FZ07 forks while also adding a cartridge system. Externally adjustable for preload and rebound. I know you already have your forks extended ( people worry too much- your setup is fine) but holler at me if you are interested in converting to cartridges. All you have to do to complete the conversion is drill and tap one hole. Good luck with the rest of your project!
The segment about the kickstand kill switch reminded me of a fun fact: the first renditions of a quick shifter used a brake light switch spliced into the kickstand kill switch and was then linked into the shifter pedal.
To put something out there regarding the fork extinction and the weakness of it. the gap between the bottom and top bracket is a fixed distance, so would it be possible to get a tube that would fit over the fork that would fit in between the two brackets space which will of course give it extra strength.you could put some ACF 50 between the two metals so they could easily be moved in future. or stainless steel. I think that would be a better idea than the clamp idea. I don't know I'm just thinking out loud. what do you think? it would also smarten that part of the bike up because you wouldn't see the folks extension.
Its looking good bubs! Had my CRF stolen last month right after I got home from the Spring Break ride last month. Already replaced it with another, and I'm working on it now. Hopefully we can all get out and ride soon.
Hey dude can you do a list of where you got the suspension parts because I’ve been wanting to do this before you came up with the adventure fz07 but like the rear part to lift the back and where do you get those fork tube extenders if you can help me with just those two things on where or who to contact I appreciate that sooo much thanks dude and keep it up I love how it’s turning out 🤙🏼
Is there a straight path for the chain between sprockets? I can’t tell but if there isn’t, your going to force the bike to squat when you apply throttle and wear into the swingarm. Had that problem on my old Honda.
How is the flex in the bars with this set up, I put the washers in mine but with yfz 350 Banshee ATV handlebars (renthal) there is a lot of flex so was going to try these pro taper.
I'm sure you already have an idea for the headlight/dash. But something i contemplated doing to my fz09 was the Lynx fairing. Would look damn sexy on this.
you probably could have sold that switch gear thingy 12:12 on craigslist or something. you may not make much, but something is better than nothing. but the biggest reason is that somebody who needs to replace a broken one and doesn't want to spend a lot can get a used one cheap. think of your brothers and sisters before throwing out perfectly good parts!
Not that it was necessarily a bad idea, but I don't think the kickstand safety needed to be removed. I have an FZ07 and the kickstand has to go pretty far down for it to kill the engine.
I always thought the fz07 dash location was way superior to the fz09. I hate how yamaha makes it look like a last minute add on. So I'm curious to see where you relocate the dash on this build.
Hey Jake would love if you could help me out! I have an mt-03 the 660cc version, my clutch cable snapped and i tried to get home by pulling the cable with pliers and use it as a clutch (it was late and i was tired lol) but when i pullet it all the way the clutch didnt engage ? I have ordered a new cable now but im worried that something more then just the cable broke, or will it engage again when i put a new cable ? Much love!
i was wondering when you will put your ninja costume back again.. great work.. thanks for the fun and amazing content man.. I want to get a custom wired spoke rims for my KTM Duke 200 and KTM 390 Adventure. Can you suggest something where i can find it (FYI need to ship these to India). I need 19" Front and and 17" Rear wheels with hubs that can fit stock breaks and sprockets
How do ya'll think the bar setup works on just the street version of this, I'm trying to get a more upright feel, but don't wan't to take it to far, feel like I'm leaning to far forward right now.
I don't think the people were worrying about the fender moving and hitting the radiator but the radiator hitting the fender when the shocks compress. The front fork where the fender is attached is fixed but the rest of the bike isn't, so when the front shocks compress the rest of the bike body moves. Don't know if I explained well enough or if anybody gets what I'm saying.
That kickstand switch is legit dangerous, had the one on my ZX6R tweak on me where every time I hit 9K rpm it would act as a rev limiter and jerk the fuck out of the bike. Shit was scary until I found out it was the stupid kickstand switch.
6:48 - I know that laugh, that smug laugh we all do when we're pleased with our skillzzzz

Takes one of the best dirt bikes ever made --> Turns it into a sick road bike
Takes a great road bike --> Turns it into an awesome off road bike

people are going to doubt Jake when he knows exactly what he's doing. don't doubt Jake who is the mechanic guru.
Minion Moto He knows what he’s doing, all these clowns commenting have never turned a wrench.
This is my favorite bike build on the internet..
Simple kickstand, just order the tracer or T7 one. I think it should work. Nice videos btw, continue the good stuff
👍👍👍 I like how Jake turned a dirt bike into a street bikes and Street bikes into a dirtbike lol awesome job man keep up content
Love you builds, explanations, and Trouble shoots!
Hell yes! Keep it up Jake! Just moved back to Dallas. Hopefully get to see this thing at a meet up or something.

I'm loving this build. It has to be most insane fucking thing I've ever seen someone achieve in their garage
Are the cables long enough ?

Buying a stiffer spring for the kickstand seems like an easier solution than moving the connection point
No saftey Saftey glasses. 👏 👏 👏
I’m stupid. I used em later.

Something to look into, ODI Emig Pro lock on grips. Last a long time and super easy to take on and off with stuff like this.

Love the bike build bro
Really liking the build so far, what seat is that you are putting on?
JvB super7 seat and rack
I haven’t watched in probably six months but I’m glad you haven’t dropped off like an a lot of other Moto guys
Can't wait for the final reveal
Same, I wanna ride it so bad
Hey Jake, check out the Madstad adjustable windshield for the FZ07.... it would add to the adventure part of the build!!!
I’m changing the whole headlight and front end so that won’t work
Raphael was definitely the best turtle.
Have you noticed a reduction in vibration after you installed the washers under the bars?
Fireguy is alive?
Is there a straight path for the chain between sprockets? I can’t tell but if there isn’t, your going to force the bike to squat when you apply throttle and wear into the swingarm. Had that problem on my old Honda.
Swingarm angle might be too large
You could increase the size of the rear sprocket if that’s the case 👍
There's a straight path but I will need to do some work in that area. Future video.
Can you estimate the monetary 'damage' of the whole conversion proccess maybe ?
I know it ain't done yet, but still...?
too much hahahaha

Like the build good job . Doing something sorta similar I’m converting a Duke 390 into a scrambler but will be off-road capable ...
Sounds awesome, and will be pretty light too.. I wanted to do that with my ex Duke 690R, but didn't pull the trigger on it..

Not that it was necessarily a bad idea, but I don't think the kickstand safety needed to be removed. I have an FZ07 and the kickstand has to go pretty far down for it to kill the engine.
I’ve had it stall the motor briefly off roading. I think it will be worse with a longer heavy stand.
keep up the good work.
so just to be clear, no brake line or clutch line extension required???
Hell yeah new Jake video boiiiiiiii8iiiiii

With the cable broken it should be always engaged. Look where the other end of the cable attaches. Maybe it’s jammed. 🤷♂️
*what a time to be a Ninja Turtle!*
how many leds is it going to have because it needs to able to light up the entire area it's in?
When all the lights are on something like 15,000 lumens hahaha

how have you been tightening up your mirrors, they suck for the FZ-07

I don't think the people were worrying about the fender moving and hitting the radiator but the radiator hitting the fender when the shocks compress. The front fork where the fender is attached is fixed but the rest of the bike isn't, so when the front shocks compress the rest of the bike body moves. Don't know if I explained well enough or if anybody gets what I'm saying.
