Thank You Sooooo Much For Posting This, I Was Gutted I Missed It! Two Of My Favourite Things Russell Brand ( And Matt Of Course ) And Kerouac. Thanks Again XoXoXoX
I loved that last bit with the old girlfriend lady and Russell asking her about a revolution. I hope there is a revolution. I also think there is spirituality that we can all feel, that assures us everything will be ok. i feel it when i'm under the stars while camping, or at the beach when all industrial noise is gone and all that's left to hear is the earth. I love ya Russell Brand!!
"combining formality and spontaneity" ... sounds like Russell all over, really. he says some really beautifully eloquent things sometimes, and other things that are just off the wall.
Bowery Blues is the one he read on stage with the jazz band. Did you notice when he first comes on stage that there is a sign behind him that says, "Bowery Poetry?"
Besides the obvious, my favorite part of youtube is reading the comments. To read that others laughed at the same parts I did is definitely a nice touch to an already enjoyable experience.
@TheCruelAndUnwise Look, all I'm saying is that when tabloids/newspapers make that much of a fuss about what was essentially JUST a joke, they are not just reporting a news story anymore, they are in fact actively manufacturing opinions with the public. Imo, resignation was a disproportionate punishment for a joke that went a bit too far. Russell is not a malicious man. He comes from a place of love and as a true fan, I'll try to follow his example and send you actual love. xxx
you know how russell said he's been looking himself up on youtube... i'm thinking he might develop a complex thanks to all the attention matt's getting on here!
I'm well aware of Russell's history and have read the book. I'm not one of his fuss-pots, but maybe a future fuss-pot. I'm just saying it looked like he was reaching for a joint. I'm sure he wasn't, but...
I miss that show. I used to download them for my iPod. I'm Belgian and 'Manuel from Fawlty Towers' is not exactly a vital part of our cultural heritage, I could care less actually. It just doesn't seem like the punishment fits the crime at all. What's up with the mass hysteria, Britain?
thanks for posting this documentary. We get to see another side of Russell.
Russell does an awesome job with the poetry!
this documentary is beautiful
Those were some brilliant podcasts during the filming of this documentary.

@Vounderbar11 Jack White used to occupy the place where Brandon Flowers occupies now. I think.
I concur.
I have a picture of Kerouac on my wall, and my sister asked me why I had a picture of James Bond up.
Does anyone know of a place where I can download all the Russell Brand podcasts? I have the majority of them, but not all, and I miss their antics :(
I'll tell her
Jack Kerouac had a great soul...
wouldn't mind getting in them myself ;D
