RHIB Deployment | Royal New Zealand Navy

Kicking up spray 🌊 All of our #NZNavy ships are equipped with Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats (RHIB). Crew from HMNZS Canterbury put their high-speed RHIB deployment to the test during man-overboard drills in the Solomon Islands.The ship’s winch allows the crew to quickly and effectively deploy a RHIB in response to an emergency such as a man overboard or for personnel and supplies transfer to other ships or shore.
Once the task is complete and with careful coordination, the boat is safely winched back up.
This process can all take place while the ship is underway to maximise efficiency.
