      🥰 Thanks Wendy! This has actually been the only medium I have found that keeps my creativity peaked. I love to paint and I love to sculpt and carve things but I don't have much patience for it. This gives me a little bit of everything all of the time. I really enjoy it!

    Great novelty cake, I usually bake my cakes in a terrocatta plant pot! 🌷🌹

    Great video, clear and to the point but my favourite thing of all is how you made the pot from buttercream rather than fondant (which I personally don't like the taste of but nearly all tutorials use to make the pot). Super impressive!

      Thank you so much!! I’ve been working really hard to better my buttercream game! I’m so glad you like it and thank you for taking the time to tell me what you liked about the video, it’s always nice to hear what people think.🥰

      I will do my best to make that happen😊A present cake is a good idea, bows can be a little tricky to make.

    This is so amazing! How do you dry the brick fondant?

    • @TheRobynsNest
      @TheRobynsNest  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I put mine in a food dehydrator for about an hour. You can also use your oven. Just put it in there with only the light on, (do not turn the oven itself on!) The heat of the light will dry the fondant within a couple of hours

    hi this is so nice 👌 can you share the recipe for this cake and buttercream recipe please 🙏

    • @TheRobynsNest
      @TheRobynsNest  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe for this one I had just used a basic chocolate fudge box cake mix, but I always make my own buttercream! Here’s the link to my easy buttercream recipe🥰
      th-cam.com/video/kA5crjQ_yI4/w-d-xo.html
      (To make chocolate buttercream just add about 2 tbsp sifted cocoa to each batch you make,(I use Hershey’s) as well as an extra 1/2-1 tbsp of whatever liquid you will be using)

    what is the size of your cake and how to achieve the of your pot?

    • @TheRobynsNest
      @TheRobynsNest  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s three 6” cakes carved to get the shape then covered in buttercream and finished with crushed cookies for dirt.

    What is your icing? Recipe please

    • @TheRobynsNest
      @TheRobynsNest  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      1/2 cup unsalted butter
      1/2 cup shortening
      1 Tbsp vanilla
      1/4 tsp salt
      4 cups of sifted powdered sugar
      2-4 tbsp cool water
      Cream butter salt and vanilla with paddle attachment of stand mixer till light and creamy
      Add shortening and continue to mix until fully blended. Add 2 cups of powdered sugar and blend until smooth then add 1 Tbsp of water and blend again. Add final 2 cups of powdered sugar blended until smooth then gradually add remaining water until you reach the desired consistency.
      Tip: I typically only need 2 - 2.5 tbsp of water in the summer but all 4 tbsp of water in the winter.
      Happy Decorating 🥰
