She ended up living this song out, and disappearing from our life in 2018, after 18 years of her and I together. Myself and our children didn't see her from 2018 .... she passed away on this past new years eve. Had just turned 40 yrs old last summer, spent much of her last months in hospital with severe health problems.... they took her off a liver transplant list because of leaving hospital against their advice and drug use. God I miss her, I wish so badly she would have gotten help. I am trying my best to guide our 4 children through this... everyone handles things differently.... they're all teenagers now, our oldest is 20.... we were young parents, some of the youngest, that has its pros and cons..... I better not go on too long. Just wanted to write, she loved this song.... and so do I. And I will always love her, no matter the darkness of the path she took, the broken tracks.... I understood her.... but she stopped wanting me to ... I would have forgave her for anything.... but she didn't know how to forgive herself.... or some others.... she embraced toxic friends and family in the end, and drugs just made everything worse. The tracks led into darkness, and I followed her down them for a long time, until it got so fucked up I had to step to the side.... it was painful to watch, I had to look away it hurt so bad, but still knowing she continued down it.... it was horrifying and sad. In our families we believe in burying our own.... I just never thought it would come for her so soon. I miss her and I know the children do.... please if you read this and are struggling with addictions and sadness..... if you are a mother, a father, or a son or daughter, or even if you have no living loved ones left..... and if you have dabbled on the dark track.... please stop. Please get help or do whatever you have to do not to leave this world or the steady track. Learn to forgive others, and yourself. Cherish your life, please.
He has such strong voice that studio mics cause him to have to pull back or he clips them(makes for a bad recording). In a live venue he can really belt out the song and nail it. You can hear him having to back off his crescendos and even then occasionally you get that little bit of static as the limiters kick in.

This is such an amazing cover. Brent's vocals are fire as usual, the real joy though, for me anyway, always comes from watching Zach on this one. I don't think I've ever seen him and his guitar so into each other! It's a beautiful thing watching a musician not just playing but feeling the music!
