The secret to make the HE1000se sound twice as awesome is to put it as far forward on your ear as it can go. You want it touching the backsides of your ears. This will sweeten the midrange and bring out more low end.

A better source can improve them greatly, it is more about the source quality than the power, so get a good source, not necessarily a strong one. Aune S9C PRO, HIFIMAN EF600 both are great, or the cheapest but which does an amazing job is Soundblaster X5, something I did not expect to work well, but which pairs really well with He1000SE.
A copper cable would improve on the brightness and tame it a bit, it is a good way to make them smoother.

Still using them daily, personal favorite. ddHIFI BC150B and Lavricables Master Silver are the best cables I know for them!

You've mentioned in a recent comment under a different video that you've had a chance to listen to the Susvara recently - I appreciate that it would have probably been a short listening session, using different gear, but given how much you like the HEKse (a pair of which I also own) - what were you impressions of the Susvara? Did it sound to you like a "different flavour" (just like the HEK Stealth is, compared to the HEKse) or was there something about them that separated them from the rest of the Hifiman pack? Thanks :)
Susvara is an entirely different headphone, brings a more relaxed presentation, wider soundstage, and more refined sound. A full upgrade over HEKse, in every way possible. Only downside would be that it is also harder to drive and pricier

You try them for gaming also? i'm corious how it compares in 3D soundstage and ping-point imaging against the HD800s.
Yes, I use them quite a bit for gaming, it works really well! I think it is a bit more accurate than HD800S, altough it can sound smaller in width. They are in the same ballpark tho
@@AudiophileHeaven thanks for sharing. I hear that 800s are wider, but hekse is deeper and taller, wich can be much better for competitive gaming since footsteps usually comes from the front

The Ananda stealth is changed. It is now a low sensitivity headphone.
Can you buy and review and compare this 400$ headphone. That can be better than expensive Meze and Focal headphones?
Based on your personal taste, any headphone could be the best. I would try them in person and see which I like best. I will be doing my berst to cover Ananda Stealth too, if I haven't already
the stock sound without eq is thin and lacks impact. I will provide an EQ profile to fix this in the coming days, to fix this. It took me 40 - 50 hours to find this sound. I'm running a RME ADI - 2 Pro FS..
I personally love the stock sound, but I am also curious how you'd EQ them. I tend to love adding some bass and some treble via JDS Labs Element III MK2 Boosted. RME Adi dacs are quite colored in sound and known for it, so it is likely the DAC is playing a part in your decisions

words sharp, bright is enough for me to not buy it :) my cheap Ananda Stealth is not bright yet musical and overall well tuned for my ear
There is a HE1000 Stealth variant that is much less sharp and bright, might work better for you if you like Ananda Stealth
I have all 3 and testet it with with different amps. I now use the ef 400 as a dac and the violectric v222 as an amp. On the ef400 alone, all 3 sound sharper, with the v222 none of them! The Review is false in different points, and i am a bit disapointet, because i loved the v2 stealth Video. This time it seemed you just say, what hifiman wants to. The se is better but has less base than the arya and the he stealth. An the he stealth is sharper than the SE. The stealth sounds like the arya, but more resolving, more details, more base, more sharpness und the SE sound more airy than both, less but cleaner bass, but with eq there is more Potential, it also has treble but clean and less sharp thsn he stesth and if you have the right amp, it has the most 3 d sound and is technical the best headphone. With an good amp dac, it has the best sealing.keep your arya as a backup and buy the SE if u have a smooth amp. The he stealth is also good, but just a small upgrade to the arya.
I thought u have the arya but you have the ananda stealth...go and buy one of the three!!! They are all a- tier and the ananda is c-tier. Just saying.
@@Spliffstar5582 maybe one day I will try HEKSE, meanwhile I already own headphones with detailed airy sound, 3D soundstage, great or the best timbre out there and its not even planar, funny is that Ananda stage even thou drivers are big is actually not so impressive
Depends on the type of amp u are using. Some amps make them sound harsh and others make them sound really nice. Im running my 1000se through a Rupert Neve Designs RNHP headphone amp and the top is silky smooth and it dosent feel sharp at all. Also crazy bass and midrange is there too.
