I have heard that distributors are much easier to partner with rather than the manufacturer. Is this true? If so, what would the downside be? Would your margins get crushed? Thank you for taking time to read this.
GREAT question. In general, I like working directly with the manufacturer the most because of the margins. That said, I’ve worked with excellent distributors that also offer good margins (just not quite as high as direct from manufacturer). One upside with distributors is that they often carry multiple manufacturers’ products so you basically automatically get in the door with a bunch of suppliers by partnering with a distributor. I think at the end of the day while there are pros to working with a distributor it’s always best to work directly with the manufacturer because you’ll get in general 5-10% better margins and it simplifies a lot of warranty servicing problems should a product ever need to be serviced. The distributor is just an added middle man to the whole scheme.

Understood. Since my last comment I have a potential supplier but they're asking for a reseller's certificate in more than 10 different states. Is there a way that I can get a universal reseller's certificate? Any help would be greatly appreciated!@@joeverschoor

@@joeverschoor I bought your course about a week ago and I am looking forward to tomorrow when it officially opens but would you still recommend I get the course from Joe and Mike because I have been watching a lot of their videos lately. I really want to get into this but the current price of their course is $2,000 so I'm not sure if it is worth it because every review I see online about other expensive dropshipping courses just talks about it being really basic and saying they felt like they got scammed.
@Kaleb Anderson I don’t think their course is a scam at all and especially for someone that’s an absolute beginner like I was it really helped me. That said, I also recognize that not everyone has the budget to drop 2 grand on a course like that and would rather apply that money toward their business, which is why I’m not charging $2,000 for this. I personally think the information I’ve put together is very useful. At a certain point, a course creator can’t hold someone’s hand through how to run their own business but they CAN provide a really great foundational framework. The hardest parts of high ticket dropshipping are niche selection, getting suppliers and Google Ads, which I place a ton of emphasis on in this course. I also plan to get feedback from students and respond quickly with new modules over time.
Sorry, kind of a long-winded answer. I think Mike and Joe are extremely knowledgeable and obviously have a lot more content on TH-cam than I do, I also think I’m quite knowledgeable with this business model. Frankly it’s not rocket science but again, taking the right combination of steps will set you on a much better trajectory than just winging it.

Realistically I would say $1,000 is a great number to aim for.

what if you’re somebody who has no sales experience , and no degrees . what if you’re self taught . is it even possible to get any companies to be willing to work with you and let you use their products ?
Yes, companies will look at your website and will want to see your business credentials (EIN, sales tax ID, etc.). They aren’t going to ask you for your resume or background.

It’s hard to be super motivated at first because it can be up to several months of hard work and no sales at all but for me the motivator was the prospect of not having to work for anybody and making a lot of money on my own terms. Short answer is yes, but generally shopping ads convert way better. What’s the issue with your Merchant Center Account?
@@joeverschoor I have no idea I have made many websites added all the necessary info took care of the policy pages and always get suspended.
How do you get suppliers for high ticket products?
I kind of touch on it in this video and go fairly in depth in my course about it. Essentially, you literally call and email them, introduce yourself and ask about the possibility of opening a wholesale account with them.
Is your course suitable for the UK markets?
Yes it is, although do note that most UK students set up their businesses in the US just due to the larger market.
