- I found that you can skip a couple of sections of this challenge so I wanted to share.
I didn´t want to spend so much time in this, so I didn´t bother for a no damage run. - เกม

Or failing to register a grab mechanic after a fuckingf perfect lamp jump, failing to grab stairs and so on.
This is the most painful level I have ever played in any game

I love this game so, so much... but this level, oh my god. It makes me want to tell Miriam to just pick an empty house in Albero and start her life from scratch, 'cause the suffering ain't worth it. Put me in a cage with Isidora, but don't put me in this stage ever again.

Agreed, the game is not a platformer and wasting hours of your life mastering these jumps for a mediocre summon is just not worth it.

Man, that shortcut at 0:15 is _huge._ not so much because it a bunch of time, because it prevents you from getting annoyed and frustrated by having to wait for the square red platform in the bottom left(next to the thing that shoots blue fireballs) to start moving. I had tried that originally, but couldn't get it to work. For those having trouble with it, you have jump _immediately_ after landing on the little red platform(the one at ~0:16) otherwise you sort of get stunned, and end up just falling through/off the side of the platform.

@@chainenationqc you can solve it by press ranged attack before landing on the platform, it save a litte more time in the air and it works for me
some times you go throught some times you dont. kind of weird

Bro you don't know how grateful I am. I never figuered out why i hit the platform and still hit the spikes
0:53 .. you can skip all that fireball barrage by pulling lever but not moving on platform. Count to 20 and then do a leap of faith exactly in middle of hole to land immediately on single platform at bottom.
FOR ANYONE UNAWARE, if you hold dash while attacking in the air, you don’t have to point down/diagonally to lantern bounce. This has saved my ass in those Blue Door challenges

This shit is just impossible to me. Nothing works, i can't jump using lantern in this chalange.
It is really hard, just be sure to hold down the button when you do it. It takes a couple tries but once you get the rhythm it’s aight. Just keep trying.
This game doesn't handle well enough for this HK ass platforming. The lantern jumps are just bad.
You can try shooting a ferveous blood to refet your fall instead of lantern jumping if you're that bad at this game.

Look at how orthopedic, unintuitive and absent lantern jumps are in the main game, look at how these levels are designed, and tell me the gameplay stands up to these level's design.

Its unveliavable how this path is punitive. If u jump from mid platform you will die instantly.
for anyone struggling with the pendulums or any other damage/knockback here: Try out Tiento to your Thorned Hairs at key moments - you'll completely negate everything!

It's good to note that w/o the Young Masons Wheel you will not be able to reach that second platform drop (after the ladder platform drop). Tried this maybe 50 times before realizing you're going moving faster than I was.

I can't believe I never noticed that that was the chick from Bloodstained(meaning the woman who asks you to collect the crystal shards.) Between the outfit,her voice, the crystal shards, the teleportation window, etc. you'd think it'd be obvious.
At 0:47, you do three consecutive lantern jumps. I cannot count the number of times the game has given me a sword drop attack instead, which always leads to a death.
there’s a rosary bead that lets you do 3
For the last section: you can avoid trying to stay on the platform while dodging the fireballs entirely by hanging on the wall on the right side and waiting for the timer to reach EXACTLY 1 MINUTE after hitting the switch to start the platform, then let go. The platform will be there at the bottom. The time window itself is pretty forgiving, you can be a bit late.
In 0:27 you can not to hit the crystal activator and just fall way down to the platform that will not move 'cause you didn't activate it.
i’m sorry i love this game with all my heart, but the lantern jump does not work as well as the developers intended. half the time it just does not work. and i get that it’s purposefully kind of janky to make it hard, but when a level is hard because a certain mechanic that is pivotal to the completion of a level does not work, then it is long based on skill, and it is a fault of the game itself.
this level is maddening because of that fault. it feels wildly unfair, especially since if the mechanic would just work like it’s supposed to, then it would still be a hard level, but at least you wouldn’t be dying for reasons completely out of your control.

Adding these challenges really ruined an otherwise perfect game for me. The platforming is hard literally because it depends on this games wonky mechanics. It's frustrating.

the lantern jump must not have been tested that well, because i agree, it only works like half of the time. i REALLY hope they fix this in the sequel. the lantern jump not only doesn’t work, but i doesn’t feel good to use either. it’s just such a poorly designed mechanic. thank FUCK you don’t really need it to complete the main game.
I managed to complete them and and my conclusion is they're extremely incosistent. Tht last part in challenge 3 is WAY harder than all of challenge 4 and 5.

So, I looked up this video to see how close I've gotten to the end. Just realised I've gotten to the last room: I got hit by a spell and fell to the ground while jumping to the platform. If I'd gotten onto it, I probably could have damage boosted to the end... I am devastated.
After 2 bloody weeks, I finally made it. That was the most horrendous task I've done holy christ. My time remaining was 1:05:08 my god
How the hell do you do that second skip, I've done it so many times but always land in the spikes literally a cm next to the platform

The second drop at the start I land on the platform then fall through it even tho I’m not pressing down and most of the spikes are actaully 2 pixels wider then the model shows so you do the first jump and die to invisible spikes

Get to the second ladder and jump from there straight down. Then you throw a blood projectile to redirect your momentum on air and land safe on the platform
You have to tap jump button before landing

Trying to beat this but in switch its lags so bad when you get to the bells.
Pretty hard on a switch, when all the blue flames go everywhere it starts to lag also where the bells 🔔 go off like crazy. Like holy fuck lag pikes 🤮

Fun fact i have played blasphemous with a Friend and we always wanted to speedrun those trial and this speedrun is kinda how we did it (with a lot more hit especially by the fireball) This was kind of infuriating but now i'm proud of our performance the skip at 0:16 was the worst we were landing on the plateform all the skip but the spikes killed us anyway pretty much everytime the other shortcut we used 0:29 was way more easy

I keep fucking up the jump at 0:24 man like I get that jump maybe 1/100 tries idk why it's so hard cos I can do that lamp trick on pretty much every other one I don't have an issue like it's not as hard
hahaha I messed this up too in the past. I feel the thing here is the lamp being so close to the edge, so when you hit it the time you have to move your finger and press the up key to grab the edge is very short...
i think the key here is to jump but do free fall like a U then dash+hit when you're in front of the lantern
Thanks bros I got it! I actually found it easier to just dash/dodge off that platform I got it more often, once I figured it out this level was easy riding haha
@@kashifsheikh4744 you mean slide off the edge of platform then jump? that sounds complicated. i actually cant believe it, i finished this 4th then 5th challenge yesterday.
also make sure you use those 2 rosary beads, the wheel and the toe. the wheel makes you run faster and jump higher and further, same with the toe

I just finished this with a end time of 1:16 this is easily the most painful challenge this game offers

I think these stages are awful. The game itself is one of my all time favorites, but the platforming in these sections is clunky and way too long. Super tedious and boring.
Yeah, I think the worst part is that for this sort of challenge most if the time you just wait for platforms to move which takes away agency from the player.

And its not the difficulty itself, i can live with that. Its the unreliability of the commands - gambling away every damn thing to a stairs grab or a ledge grab even though the timing was correct and spot on. That grinds your sanity.
If the grab mechanics werent this sloppy it would be just damn fine, mistakes are mistakes. But to fail just because it failed to register a grab mechanic, nah bro just fuck this, its just pure frustration, not having a good time.
Who the fk made this level? It is crazy and not for all of us who bought this game

Edit: I realized that this part is optional and the reward is underwhelming, because is mode was made to a small portion of players who love this level of hardcore
