確かに、ウーファーと思っていたのがフルレンジならば上にあっても問題ない。昔はフルレンジをウーファーとして使っていたモデルも多い。
JBL engineered everything. That is why the vintage systems are worth investing in their restoration, especially with modern crossover upgrades. The drivers are timeless quality. Thank you for updating this information.
I am just about to get my 2 4312b's woofers reconed with aquaplas. The technician did not push to change the crossover with upgrades largely to keep the speakers original. Believe it or not, I love my JBL Control 5s with Bose Cubes wired separately so I can switch balance between the two best with a Pioneer SX-650. Now I have a big Sansui G-9700 and the 4312Bs and I can't get it to sound nothing but loud, harsh, too sterile, or too much bass/highs or too much of one thing or another. I thought I was moving up. The woofers have yet to come I am wondering if it is the crossovers that need updating?
I had a similar situation with a set of 4333 clones I built. Mostly not enough bass response from the LE-15s. I could (and did) turn down the pot on the tweeters. As it happened, I had a tube fail, and replacing all four with a well matched set did wonders for the bass response, and resulted in what I expected from the speakers. I guess my point is that there could be all sorts of external factors at play. The crossovers are definitely a possibility if the caps are not to spec. Originality would mean you keep the old ones in case someone else wants to replace them.

yes this is a full range driver, but what is it's specs? how far can it get down and what is its higher break off distortion frequencies? you don't put any filter to roll it off at the high frequencies then there must be some breakup hire up! if you're using a 6 octave on the tweeters why not do the same with the full range driver should sound better? I'm assuming it fails around 5K have you improved the driver have you tried a copper ring have you made the coil gap smaller used less wiring and square wiring you don't need the high power amperage of the original. is the coil under slang or overslung past its extension and did you change this?
I remember reading in the speaker cookbook that by having the tweeter underneath you cause it to rise up in the bass and if it's the other way around you have a dive in the bass frequencies. makes sense in the vertical plane if you're measuring it. better synergy between the higher frequencies and lower frequencies at the listener
My opinion is, the 45311 was designed to be a professional monitoring speaker. In a studio control room there is a big, big window. The speakers are placed high so as not to block the view, so the low placement of the high frequency drivers puts them closer to ear level for the mixer/producer.
I'll bet a room with 5 or 6 of those would sound superb in a home theatre playing back a 6-track 70mm movie like 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY, or Todd-AO films like CLEOPATRA or THE SOUND OF MUSIC.

이 12인치 드라이버가 진정한 우퍼라면 현재 위치와 반대 방향으로 대역폭을 합성하는 것이 더 좋을 것입니다. 그러나 이 드라이버는 우퍼가 아닙니다.
우선 4311에 사용된 표준 팩토리 유닛인 2212는 편의상 우퍼라고 부르지만 실제로는 JBL D123에서 유래한 '풀레인지 유닛'입니다. 2212는 멀티웨이 구성에서 사용할 수 있도록 f0을 낮추기 위해 대량 첨가 콘 코팅제인 아쿠아플라스로 처리되어 있지만, 4311 시스템에서 사용할 경우 크로스오버 필터를 사용하지 않고 앰프에서 직접 전체 대역폭 신호를 라우팅하는 메인 유닛입니다. 이는 중-고주파 성분의 방향성이 매우 높다는 것을 의미합니다.
즉, 방향성이 높은 중고주파 성분의 에너지 분포가 이 유닛에 가장 집중되어 있습니다. 반면에 스쿼커와 트위터는 각각 8 마이크로패럿과 3 마이크로패럿의 단일 커패시터로 구성된 1차 필터와 높은 확산도와 낮은 지향성을 가진 페이퍼 돔 콘을 통해 하이패스되는 중고역만 부드럽게 추가됩니다. 따라서 12인치 드라이버가 청취 위치에서 귀에 더 가까운 상단에 배치되어 사운드 이미지 결합이 더욱 자연스러워졌습니다. 그리고 표준 2122 대신 여기에 설치된 비디오에 등장하는 커스텀 D131에도 0.013 밀리 헨리 코일 (저역 통과가 아닌 위상 응답 개선 용)이 있지만 거의 전체 대역폭을 통과합니다.
결론적으로, 풀레인지 드라이버가 스피커 하단에 배치되기 시작한 4312 시대 이후에도 청취 경험에서 보다 자연스러운 대역폭 합성 및 국소화를 가능하게 하는 것은 4312 스타일이 아닌 이 4311 스타일 배열입니다. 3웨이 스피커라고는 하지만 실제로는 '풀레인지 플러스 2'로 저역뿐만 아니라 보컬 영역인 중고역도 메인 드라이버인 이 드라이버에 집중되어 있기 때문입니다. 스쿼커 및 트위터와의 레벨 매칭은 적당히 유지하면서 보조적인 역할을 하는 것이 근거리 소스를 구성하는 이상적인 방법입니다.

what I have tried in the past works very well with a bit of fiddling, you could give it a go if you want to put it upside down , make yourself a resonating sound box/stand tuned to e flat,127Hz you can connect and inducer or a speaker without the cone, stuck to the side or pushed to tune it. with two baffles half an inch thick of ply. inside going horizontally 8½" apart and 7" from the top with about a 6" gap on each end, you want to tune it outside the frequency of the cabinet of the speaker resonance, otherwise it will sound awful, try and get it low as possible, the thinner the material the better 5 or 6 mm marine plywood, use 1" pine stock cross brace at the top and at the bottom, and along the sides and on the verticals as well corners. get some guttering drain pipe you might need to find a step down or step up attachment I'm not sure the size of port on these speaker, just to push fit you can wrap some electrical tape around it if it's loose fit, feed this into the corner 3 in away box in a thick cardboard tube extending 3". And have it open slit 1½" high and about 85% across at the front bottom and back, and 2" off the floor, make sure this is open at the bottom you don't cover it up if it's on a hard floor stick a piece of carpet in the bottom or a cushion, you can experiment with a bit of stuffing lambswool to fine tune it. you should be able to get it down to 28 hertz and about 1¼ DB rise.
