SFA is so underrated, i recently went and it looks like they are making improvements like firebird wasn’t that rough, so was roar. And all the rides were pretty much up all day

Good evening. Honestly, I am no longer a fan of Six Flags America in Upper Marlboro, MD. I've visited better, like Hershey Park, Kings Dominion, Knoebel's and Disney World. This is a great park for coaster enthusiasts, but everyone who goes to a theme park is not a coaster enthusiast such as myself. I'm more into flat thrill rides and dark rides. Its dumb that this Six Flags took away the Ferris Wheel & Tilt-a-Whirl. $80 for admission, I am not paying a cent for this park. Six Flags America is quite inferior in my opinion.
I love seeing how different six flags park around the country are, for better or for worse. My nearest(STL) has been going downhill for years too. Thankfully the rides are still in good shape, but seeing the park operating the way it does now is sad because all of the memories I hold visiting as a kid and working there. Hopefully the merger will breathe some life back into the parks over time!

I grew up in southern maryland. Back when I was younger, late 1990s early 2000s, it was not that bad. I remember we use to take school trips there, and it was so much fun. Six flags just let it go. They really need to update it. And yes I remember when it was adventure world....
I primarily go to Hershey Park but now and then I’ll go to Great Adventure over in New Jersey. It’s really interesting to see how Six Flags as a company really prioritizes certain parks over others. I can’t really say that any Six Flags park is a top tier experience but Great Adventure and Magic Mountain are definitely the golden children that receive all the attention. And clearly Six Flags America is one of the forgotten children. Lol
It’s a shame the park is like this because this park has so much potential and i hope it will soon be met. It’s one of a few transit accessible parks in the country albeit a currently mid connection plus that connection is to a large metro area which is in itself connected to 4 other large metro areas. If they fixed this park up and either ran a shuttle to or built an extension of the metro which is currently 4 miles away it would probably be the most attended non Disney/universal park in the country.

My friends and I were trying to decide between going to Six Flags America and Hershey Park, and I insisted on Hershey Park due to seeing it in your videos. oh yeah Hershey is about 1000% better than this six flags at least. I'm not sure about the other ones. But I'm still pretty sure HP is better regardless.
This park is often hated on by a lot of coaster enthusiasts. It’s not a bad park but the their reputation is really bad. Often regarded one of if the the worst SF park in the chain
SFA is my home park and I’ve been going for about 20 years. It deserves its criticism. I get that this park doesn’t receive the same budget as the bigger six flags parks that get more attendance, but this park can’t even handle the attractions that they currently have. No new coaster since 2001 is wild.
Old home park: SF America 🇺🇸 and its still crazy to me how Wild One is somehow the best ride in the park still. I remember buying the season passes here just to drive to the New Jersry six flags

Reminds of my disappointing trip to Elitch Gardens, except I only got to ride 1 coaster (that we waited 2 hours for because it broke down and they didn't tell anyone in line and we were stuck). Everything else broke down before we could ride it or loaded so slow we finally got fed up and we left early.
I also went to Wild World as a child. I remember not going back, my parents thought it was unsafe in the 80's. The real question to me is how this park continues to exist. 40 years later!
Have a Six Flags day!! Music is always to freaking loud. My home park is Great Adventure in Jersey. You might as well come on up and check it out for the 50th this year. Things are looking pretty nice up here so far.
You mean the entrance outside the park? Yup! I have a pass so totally worth it for me. I would say it's worth it l, but later in the year when they let the giraffes roam again. There's construction where they normally roam. It's supposed to be done mid June. Giraffes are still there to be seen they just aren't roaming. Been on the safari twice this season so far and it's been really good. Couple vlogs on my channel feature the safari from this year if you want to get an idea of how it is.
Oh jeez, i might have advised against if I'd known how rough of a shape this park was in. I def recommend taking the trip up to Great Adventure in jersey if you have the time, it's still kinda scrubby as all six flags are wont to do, but it's definitely in better shape 😬

I loved the intro. I went to Great America a few years ago. It it is weird how similar some of the stores and land layouts are to this one. My family was also disappointed in the lack of operating rides and poorly maintained spaces.
I bought the season pass from this park, but I use it to go to the other parks. This park is in rough shape. They have the land potential to do more. However, I don't think investors are willing to take a risk.
As a Wrestling fan, how did you not know how to do an X in that situation? Great adventure as a kid was a fun time. But I hear you need to know how to fight now before you go. They did add glamping. Where you can sleep near the safari. But the price is up there. And the reservations site is confusing. Good idea for a vlog?
I would also love to see a vlog of the new safari, I want to go but I'm not sure the jacked up price is worth it. It went from 20 to 30 per person. And it seems like its not that different from the ride in the park?
Finally, if it's anything like the event is out here, Fright Fest will probably be a much more enjoyable time. Then again, I think certain smells are less embedded here.

Dude, you skipped what is - by far - the best coaster in the whole park. The Batwing is one of the last of its type, and it is awesome. Such a smooth ride and feels like you're flying the whole time. The flip at the beginning and the loop are awesome. Definite can't miss if it is running. Also, you have to admit that the Mardi Gras area smelling like vomit is accurate theming to New Orleans during Mardi Gras.
As disappointing as this park looks, most of it has been upgraded recently. It’s just been a slow road to recovery. Also, yes. The train is still running. I went on it last year. It’s mostly just a ride into the back areas outside the park.
If you think your park is bad wait til you check out Six Flags Great Adventure, I haven't gotten to go this year but I've heard most of the rides are also closed but they have a safari - which I used to be a tour guide for years ago. I laugh at how poorly managed the park is.
I live 20mins from the park and refuse to go unless I'm going for free🤣🤣🤣. The best rides are all the rollercoasters in Gotham city so I'm sad that you chickened out of riding the Batwing and didn't ride the Joker's jinx. The worst ride in the park and I think I've ever rode in my life is the Mind Eraser. It's the most head banging rollercoaster ever!!!! Firebird sucks as well. The raging Cajun is fum if you like to spin.🤷🏽♀️
This is really sad to see. I have a pass to the original park in Arlington Texas. That one is sooo much better than what I see here. If you're ever in Texas, the original park is a lot of fun

I was there last year probably not the best park in Maryland. It was my favorite since childhood for rides, summer concerts, and meet-and-greet characters. But now is not a great year for entering the park cause some rides closing cause the mechanical things. I rather stick to the Hesherypark in 2024.
Fiesta is by far the best run park in the chain-far and above! The park president Jeffery Seibert actually cares and interacts with guests, but he worked for Disney, Kings Island, and Schlitterbahn before going to Fiesta.

Sorry you had such a crummy time, this is basically unanimously agreed upon to be the worst of the six flags parks though. If you're willing to do a little longer drive you'll also get into Six Flags Great Adventure which is a much better park (still not as good as Hershey though). Six Flags is FINALLY trying to turn around the overall quality but it seems like this park got very little of that so far.
Truly felt like a pervert when Kenny touched the balls @5:10. I also do not like water parks. Too many people dont take personal hygiene seriously and I'm not about it.

That dress code was added for a reason. In 2019, I saw not one but 4 people walking around wearing thongs in the park.

there was a 99 cent surcharge on all food orders, then a week later it was 1.30 it's INSYNE, there charging 199 for refills it's 3.28

Sorry you had such a crummy time, this is basically unanimously agreed upon to be the worst of the six flags parks though. If you're willing to do a little longer drive you'll also get into Six Flags Great Adventure which is a much better park (still not as good as Hershey though). Six Flags is FINALLY trying to turn around the overall quality but it seems like this park got very little of that so far.
Hershey Park is awesome but the lines there are always 45 to 90 min wait
I have two words to anyone thinking of spending money there. Buyer Beware.
Filming on ride is against park rules and is a very dangerous thing to do.

loved this 😂 ah I actually like this park, but it DEFINITELY needs some love! 🥹 has better potential! I live in Richmond, VA so fortunately, I’m lucky to have this park, but I grew up going to Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion (which are better 🤷🏻♂️)
