i used the short amount of photmode at the start to look under the map and see the general location of the logic/cheeses. in the mansion i got lucky to find the attic
So...Dapper only wins due to knowing the cheeses to get the cheese lol...granted he gave some clues I guess but did you see any of them/get any of the shortcut cheeses? I imagine you missed them as you'd probably get about 1:30 to 1:45 or so given Dapper didn't really rush his one run in the video and missed the one cheese he made.
a massive map like this with so many places to check for cheese needs a map time of at LEAST 20 minutes to give the people a chance to actually finish!
I think what he could do is have a 5 minute lobby off recording to let people do some test runs to get their bearings but likely no one (but Maki) would even come close to finishing it, and then have a 12 minute lobby for recording.
Love the scavenger hunt thing, but it definitely seems to need a longer lobby. Also the rotating cheese is great - how would it it behave if you made rotating/moving track pieces? :)
Driving on a rotating track piece would be the same as non-rotating, because the piece is not actually rotating. There are just plethora of static pieces that phase in and out of existence based on the logic triggers. There are some edge cases where some physics glithches might happen as your wheels may fuse into the objects phasing in, but those are easy to mitigate by hiding all the edges under "static" track pieces so that you cannot fall under the surface level. And obviously this problem gets exaggerated if the objects are not perfectly flat and level.
@@anteshell That's simply not true, considering that Dapper create a whole rotating track that was in the middle of an extremely scaled up fan and it heavily screwed around with how you're driving on said track, no "phasing in and out of existence" and such.
@@mementomori5580 The difference is that on that track, they were actually driving on a rotating surface. This cheese trick is NOT rotating. I quite thoroughly explained how this trick works, so I must ask you, do you have hard time understanding what you read or do you deliberately choose to ignore everything I explained? This cheese trick is comparable to a video file. Nothing is actually moving, you're just seeing static images one after another in fast enough pace to create an illusion of movement. This is not the hill you want to perish on.
@@lunascapes In my country we have this proverb, roughly translated as "What you shout into the forest, the forest will echo back." I have nearly infinite patience to discuss with, and even teach, people who express their willingness to learn and exchange ideas. Mementomori was not that kind of person. Their first sentence was claiming I was wrong even though they didn't understand anything from either what I was talking about or what Dapper had created there. If he had given me even a small benefit of doubt that he might not know everything, my tone would have been very different. So, it really didn't come "out of nowhere". I don't have patience for people acting like they know it all when they obviously do not.
I immediately caught on once I saw the pictures hinting at your previous cheeses, this is an amazing map. I'd love to see videos of you making more maps like this, preferably with a solid 15-20 minutes *at least* and a group of maybe 5-7 friends/fans working together to perfectly solve it, cheese, cheese cheese, and all.
Love this idea! It was very entertaining, I'd love to see more. Especially the little hints that gave away the short cuts, that's good game design. Don't get me wrong I like the super hidden ones you do on other tracks as well, but during a scavenger hunt I think leaving hints & clues around the map makes it a better experience for the player. Suggestion for future ideas, do a 20-30 minutes lobby, post in the discord you're doing a long scavenger hunt, and people who want to join will!
I know people did not like the low time on this map, but for me this is really good! I really like that you put a lot of your time in this map, so give people more time to see your map too! I think this is easily your top 3 best maps since it combines a very intricate technique and cheeses, very good job
Honestly, I could totally imagine 'Treasure Hunt' maps becoming a thing. Maybe limit the parts and simplify it a bit, and it could become a formula for a whole new genre of track. Well, I mean, it kind of already is a thing, but I'd love to see it kick off.
Like how Scrap Mechanic has a 'Challenge Mode' where people can just pop in a custom level people made to do puzzles or other challenges. Maybe Zeepkist can do that too, for maps like this. A mode with no time limit for solo or groups to play on a map and explore solve challenges. Can even remove the 'finish' and instead have the 'finish' tied to a trigger instead, such as logic needing 5 switches turned on and then it triggers the 'finish' for that player.
This is a fantastic idea, and I would be delighted to see more of it with players having time to explore. How does one get in on these lobbies? I'd love to join in on the Hide and Seek maps.
For spectator favourites thingy: When you're on leaderboard view, press the eye button next to the name And then there you have to hold ctrl or shift when switching with m and n
Loved this track but the time was to short for a proper exploration. Would have loved to drive a round on this track and rind all the cheeses or join in on fun with more time. But please keep the concept!
Maybe for some of these longer open world tracks, have a 5 minute lobby off recording to let people get a feel for the map and just get a bit of a head start. And then immediately follow it up with the normal 10 or 12 minute recorded run.
For some reason the garage with the up ramps reminded me of some older games where you find ramps and get as many score as possible. No other map gave me this feeling. I don't know how could you reproduce it, maybe make it the shortest route, or add logic after the jumps to open up other shortcuts.
You should use this same rotating system to rotate boosters and obstacles and make the timing for them really tight so that if you make a single mistake the booster would be orientated the wrong way preventing you to complete the level, or something like that.
Hey Dapper, if you don't mind, can you upload a folder on the Zeepkist workshop of all of your tracks? I want to test my memory of your cheeses from these videos.
i think the tf2 youtuber Great Blue s escape room videos have a good format for this type of map with secrets everywhere. It would be really cool if you could do something similar where you get a few people to try figure everything out separately while you time them and harass them
Speaking of hide and seek, I know a group of people that I think you're kind of familiar with who likes to play hide and seek on a different game every now and then. I'd say you'd fit in there like cheese on pizza. Oh, and track suggestions? Cheesy speedcheck. >:D
A map like this with lots of time could be a fun video of just looking at other players testing things out while commetating. Like give people infinite time and just see who the first 5 to figure things out are.
Cool idea but may need about 20 to 25 minutes for this kind of track if done again...especially as there was no specific order given to the rest of the players to get said cheese (no numbers or anything...if so would've made it easier for them to path which would make it easier to look for shortcut cheeses (for example if the cheese in the attic had 3 written on/near it and the one in the basement 4 then it'd indicate the idea way is to go up and when down in some way so people would likely use some time to look for shortcut cheeses to get there, especially if they can get/already have a time without the shortcuts).
Honestly, it's the lack of showing off the inside of the mansion, we just saw the gardens and garage for So much of the run, and the backyard for really only the one time you set.
actually I think I get it, there are 𝟯𝟲𝟬/𝑥 rocks, each rotated by 𝟯𝟲𝟬/𝑥 degrees, the triggers are offset and form a circle, something is going around that circle. In this instance a present, but I got it working with a spinning star or zeepkist sign as well.
Can you male a playlist track? Like how you made 3 short cut maps in to one. Have a 4 map playlist the first 3 have a 2 hidden cheeses and the 4th map is the 3 of them. Oh and the maps would be short time like 5 min each for the first 3 and 10 for the last on when every one should know what to do.................Sorry if this is pedantic I get good ideas but putting them to word not my strong suit
I was just thinking same.. Maybe Lobby mode Where you pick type of mode lobby you want to join.. Treasure hunt mode (cheese hunt), "Cup of the day", there is probably quite many you could come up with PS. game mode could also have build in "game rules" like can you turn off shadows or what ever.. I don't remember how, but one of Kan's map was ruined, by changing visual settings.. maybe force rules some how..
Pretty sure you just forgot about it while talking to the other people. Like, after the first cheese you seemed to be a little unsure or unclear about where to go and what to do and such and even went through the 2 cars but from the other side and such, so I think that was just you being completely distracted by the other guys. That being said, I would definitely love to see more of those kind of maps but yeah, you should definitely ramp up the minute count there... like, I would at least put it at 10x the time you need to finish it in a non-optimized way (so not hitting ALL the shortcuts, like your last run during the live lobby), so something between 20 to 30 minutes.
these types of maps are really cool but they need to be longer for the people playing to figure out especially with photomode off. i guess for weekly videos you do with kan and them, just do yours last and if pepople want to stay for extra long then let them if not they can just not participate.
i used the short amount of photmode at the start to look under the map and see the general location of the logic/cheeses. in the mansion i got lucky to find the attic
Still... Your ability to retain said information is mind boggling to me 🤯

Fiets should just add a Dapper Mode and give it lots of time.
Someone didn't watch the video or actually pay attention. @6:55
And Maki almost instantly finished right after 😂
I think what he could do is have a 5 minute lobby off recording to let people do some test runs to get their bearings but likely no one (but Maki) would even come close to finishing it, and then have a 12 minute lobby for recording.

I think this is a REALLY great map - for a 30min lobby.
Absolutely loved it. Thought it was a great new concept!
We need more maps like this!
Love the track, you should definitely do something like this again but with a longer timer! 🤩❤
Shivaxi did a maze recently but didn't add logic to it. There's no chance I would have found this 😆 Well done, sir!

I thought this was a Scrap Mechanic hide and seek Multiplayer Monday at first.
Yeah, I was like 'Dapper joined them in MMM?' AWESOME.
Then it was this. Eh, still awesome.
love the cool tricks, keep it up
LOVE this! More like it please! Such a cool project!
bro took “wheres the cheese dapper” way too seriously
This is a fantastic idea, and I would be delighted to see more of it with players having time to explore.

Great map, great video - really like the idea you hinted at towards the end - please do!
I loved this. Bigger more complicated maps like this with more time would be great.

lol tha was a fun concept for a track! everyone's confused. JM's just doing it, you won legit!
deeeeeeefinitely need longer format videos for this stuff, but still really awesome!!
I like this concept.
Just give the racers more time to explore, and you're good.
love ur maps and creative ideas , geninuelly get excited when u drop a new video
Amazing track design Dapper!
Nice track Dapper. Thanks for the shows.
There is an in easy way to display how many cheeses where found: checkpoints
I definitely want to see more of these scavenger hunt maps. They seem like a fun little side adventure.

I would love to see this as a murder mystery. Make them have to collect the clues to reveal the killer.
scavenger hunts are a great idea but maybe like three items? fantastic map
Speaking of hide and seek, I know a group of people that I think you're kind of familiar with who likes to play hide and seek on a different game every now and then. I'd say you'd fit in there like cheese on pizza.

Maps like these once in a while would be great, but it definitely needs a longer session (or lots of Maki's in the lobby 😂).
The cheesiest of cheezy maps, love it.

I hope ya'll show more details on this i really want to use this and definitely a digital format like harry potter if possible
Dapper always pushing the limits ;) well done
I really like this map concept
This reminded me of playing the battle stages in Mario Kart.
I like how you left hints for all the cheeses.

great track/level.
This kind of map is great!
How to fix crowdsourcing: many many objects
4:48 Kaas is inderdaad baas
You should do this map again next week to see if any one watched this video, especially Kan.
It's a Hidin' Cheese Map.
It's actually criminal that this map wasn't given 20 minutes
Epic Scavenger Hunt!!
yeah I think this kind of rpg map should be with 30 minutes on the clock
i had to go listen to that masterpiece again mid video XD 2:16
This was epic!!!!
You just have to respect the "PEACE" while finishing for the outro. You just have to.
For a second there I thought this'd be a Multiplayer Monday Scrap Mechanic Hide & Seek video and got hyped. :o Join the others for h&s plz.

please add ur cheese maps to steam workshop as I and others I'm sure want to play ur tracks with their friends

I’m always here for the cheese
one of the few maps where croud sourcing wasn't helpful.
instead of more time, I think it would be more fun if it was done in teams instead of solo
Good
Keep making tracks harder until maki can't beat them.
Can you make a track where the "shortcuts" lead back to the start
i can only count to ..... 4!!!!!
PSYCHOSTICK reference.
If you can get Kan to complain, which seems to happen 95% of the time anyways, keep it up.
I have a choice, do I get zeepkist or not? It's tough.
Hello 👋
How about a map that you can only complete by "Finding the Cheese " 😂 no way to complete it unless you find the hidden cheese exit etc
merry cheeesmas
Do you play marbles back please😢😢😢
same thing, smaller, faster map
A massive what?
"hide and go seek map"
or
"hide n go seek map"
