I am from Coronado and have known Steve and Elizabeth Wampler for years and their two beautiful children. They lived in the same condo complex where my late Mom lived....I knew Steve was wonderful and kind and funny and friendly but I had no idea he would do the amazing climb up El Capitan! ..He is one awesome dude! and we are blessed to know this fabulous Wampler man and his family!....Jinx Hack Ring

That’s cool! It’s such a shame that there are so many horrible comments on videos about interabled couples, or simply just couples (disabled or not) who just function a bit differently from what society considers “the norm”

Steve is such a friendly, personable guy! I've met him 3 times after I learned of his climb. ( I was deep into climbing after recovering from parasthesia from the chest down and I was up in Yosemite the week he was first scheduled to climb (rained out??). I missed it the week he completed El Cap) I burst into tears, seeing him roll into the first place I met him in Coronado. I'd never been star struck by meeting celebrities, but meeting my superhero in real life made me into a sobbing mess. After I composed myself, He introduced me to Elizabeth, his parents and his children and was as cool as a cucumber! So great to see both of you at a TED talk!!! I cannot wait to support you in your next venture!

Thank you for sharing your story here. I cannot stand it when able bodied people keep accusing couples who are different of being “fake” etc.

HOLD UP... INSTEAD OF A MAN... THERE WAS THIS BIG CONTRAPTION IN FRON OF YOU? THIS IS A WOMAN WHO DID NOT WANT THE CONDITION SHE WAS HANDED, WHO WISHED IT WOULD END QUICKLY. WHO HID BEHIND RELIGION... BUT... IF PUSHED TO THE LIMITS... WOULD KILL
