@Vayerbroder. Did Robbie McIntosh play the guitar "carillon" run just before the verses on the Telecaster on The Pretenders "2000 Miles"? Sounds like it.

Anyone able to blame Zac for turning them into a Tele player? I'm not complaining, but I went from playing Strat / Dinky guitars to Teles over the past year largely because Zac helped me to understand the Tele. I'm thrilled by the way.

I was about 15 when Taj's "Giant Step" came out. I played "Six Days On The Road" over and over again to cop the nuances in Jesse Ed's playing on that tune. Had a huge influence on some of the sounds that I use to this day in a lot of circumstances.
(Side note ... big up to Chuck Blackwell on drums on that album I think right before he started recording and touring with Leon Russell. He, Jesse Ed and Leon were all out of Tulsa originally)

I remember seeing King Curtis at Le Coq d’or in Toronto. The club was owned by Ronnie Hawkins at the time. Jimi Hendrix had left King Curtis about a year before and I remember whining to my buddies about him not being in the band. The guitar player in the band that night was Cornell Dupre. Didn’t know who he was until years later when he was with that band with Steve Gadd, can’t think of the name. Snuff maybe.

Thanks Zac for once again passing on your great knowledge to us in your continuing "Tele-Education". Oh, I was kinda hoping for some Merle Haggard Tele licks!!..... Russell D.

@@AskZac Oh my yes. Merle is in a class of his own. His son has his legendary Telecaster now I believe. Merle's legacy and influence is worth many videos just about him. .....Russell D.

Amazing as always, Zac. If we every get "another 10 licks" list video, I'm sure there'd be some Keith Richards in the list.

Les Paul on the intro. Tele on the chorus. I could have played the low Tele part on the chorus!

    Great episode Zac!
Good job on meet in the middle. I never even attempted it. Might have to try it.
I always overplayed on Folsom LOL. It sounds best keeping it simple.

Great "history" lesson, Zac. I guess I was familiar with most of these licks, although not necessarily with who played them. The only question I have is someone you said Reggie Young went on to play with. I've checked TH-cam and Google, and simply cannot find a source for "Everyone and their Dog"......what label did they record for?
