  • Ricki Lake and her longtime business partner and filmmaker, Abby Epstein, join the show today to talk about their groundbreaking new documentary film, The Business of Birth Control - a truth finding journey where they tell the impactful stories of women who’ve had a whole range of experiences on, and coming off of, hormonal contraceptives.
As we’ve seen and heard in past episodes on this subject, this community has a very direct connection to the modern birth control story. Until very recently, our knowledge had been strictly experiential. Now, with documentaries like this and other dedicated research, we’re learning more about what these drugs do in our bodies, and to our minds. It’s critically important work, and so important for all women, especially young girls, to know and understand.
From June 22nd to 26th, The Business of Birth Control will be available to watch for FREE in the USA and Canada! You can grab your ticket here. And for those who miss the free streaming event, you can use the code "Almost30" for 50% off by clicking here.
We encourage you to share this one with a friend or family member to, as Ricki mentions, pay it forward and empower the next generation with information they can act upon for their best interests. Enjoy.
    We also talk about:
    Inspirations behind the documentary
    Birth control stories and experiences
The beauty and power in our cycles
    Marketing freedom over risks
    Recognizing its historical significance
    Reckoning with unethical trial testing
Digging into the business side of hormonal contraception
Tragic stories of death and injury
    Following the money
Hope for the future + male-equivalent options

This is so important 🙌 Took birth control for painful periods when I was 20-21 😂it killed my libido and made me quite depressed.
My intuition led me to FAM, so I've been using FAM since I was 22 and I'm now 28. I am confident that long-term hormonal birth control kills your intuition and puts all of your chakras out of balance 😬 SO think twice about the way you take care of your temple xoxo

I’ll take four at once lol I do believe that it’s liberating versus messing up because if you mess up that will cost you a lot of money if it’s something you don’t want to me it’s worth it

Ladies, I’m all about educating women but you should also educate them on the devastating effects of abortion as well instead of being so pro abortion. If you care about women, you will address this issue as well
