It depends what your sound guy wants. But you could put the other parts in the other video in the track. Or you could mix some of the other parts with wha you are playing
Can you help me out with delay settings? I used dotted 8th with 86bpm and its not sounding right. Someone said i should use quarter note delay instead. what do you think? I can't seem to figure it out.
wwinford yep that's what's worked for me. Sometimes if I want to tap in the big beat (1 and 4) I'll then set it to 1/8th note delay. I think that's what the OP was saying people told him to do. 86bpm is definitely too fast, I think maybe 60bpm for the big beat?
I have a G5420T and I'm having a hard time getting that sweet sound. You really have an amazing tone. You're using both pickups through an Fender Deluxe?
My guitar has a pickup selector and tone switch. I mainly swap pickups though, and I am not using the Fender in the background, am using two Vox AC30's in stereo
wwinford good idea. I created a pretty nice ambient patch using a combo of particle, octoverb, lo-res delay, sweep echo, and a 1 octave low pitch glider, and a 2 octave higher pitch glider. Sounds sweet!
Sorry I'm being dense, so if your guitar is tuned down half a step then that means the riff with the original key is really one fret higher up the neck (as in towards the bridge)? Or am I backwards?
Thanks for uploading this. However, if you’re going to call it a tutorial video, you should really break down the parts and play them slowly. It’s a little tough figuring out what you’re playing at full speed.
alslespaul I use this channel to resource guitarists at my church who are trained to use their ear to pick these parts in the video. They are not intended to be long training videos, just a play-through that notes the effects used and an occasional slowed down section that might be too fast to pick out. However, TH-cam does have the option to slow down the speed of the video. You should check it out!
Your channel has been such a valuable resource for me since I began playing in a worship band. THANK YOU.
The TONE!! Omg. We play this in A, this video has help me tremendously. Knowing the right parts makes it easy to transpose.
brother feels the holy spirit through those heavenly sounds
Dude, you KILLED this!! Wow! So awesome! Thank you for all the cues as well!
Thank you! We're playing this song on Sunday the 27th at Browncroft Community Church - really helpful.
Great, amazing!! GOD BLESS you
Ridiculously good guitar sound... 😍😍
Exceptional as always.
Thanks for posting. I like the pace of the tutorial
Thanks for your help bro, God bless!
This video helped so much. I’ve been trying to learn Electric Guitar and these videos really help

The Gretsch has become like the du jour worship guitar 😁
I'm using a prs with emg pickups
You have the longest fingers I’ve ever seen. 😂
This video helped a lot! Thanks!! but I was wondering, what are the tabs for the first bridge with the guitar tuned a half step down?
Râçhéł Brøwñ I’m playing octaves on the D and B strings starting on the 5th and 8th fret, then 4&7, 9&12, 10&13, 12&15
thank you!
Worship,💪🔥🔥🔥
❤
does anyone know what guitar this is??
Hurt_ Customs Gretsch 6118 Anniversary
Thanks bro
playing exactly what you played here, which guitars would you leave in the track?
It depends what your sound guy wants. But you could put the other parts in the other video in the track. Or you could mix some of the other parts with wha you are playing
Of course Hillsong just loves to layer guitars on a single track and make the lead line bounce from track to track to track
Alex Colosky yep... I'm covering several different tracks on this video as well
Can you tell me what power chords, open chords and in that order
nightmare before christmas
Man, how can I achieve the chorus drive using a fender strat ?!? Which drive pedal ?
Lucian Assis a tubescreamer type pedal should work fine
wwinford what about the tuning? It isn’t the normal way... EADGBE...
Lucian Assis I’m tuned down a half step
wwinford you’re amazing ❤️ god bless you aways!
Can you help me out with delay settings? I used dotted 8th with 86bpm and its not sounding right. Someone said i should use quarter note delay instead. what do you think? I can't seem to figure it out.
what delay pedal are you using?
Derek Anderson use a dotted quarter delay and tap in the 1/8th note. For this song I think it's about 170bpm
sigilwig444 yes, that works great if you are tapping in a delay for a song in 6/8 timing
wwinford yep that's what's worked for me. Sometimes if I want to tap in the big beat (1 and 4) I'll then set it to 1/8th note delay. I think that's what the OP was saying people told him to do. 86bpm is definitely too fast, I think maybe 60bpm for the big beat?
What tuning ia guitar ?
Half step down. I noted it in the beginning of the video

@@wwinford I love the tone you're getting. Can I ask how you set yours up? Do you use drive on the AC30 close to breakup or clean?
Will D check out my gear video! I show everything I use there. th-cam.com/video/tCEriA0mGjU/w-d-xo.html
Hey, what chords are you using from 2:14 to 2:18? I'm learning this song for worship and I can't quite figure it out. Thanks ^_^
Here's a tab of the chords I'm playing. Hope this helps!
e -10-10---8
B -8--7---8
G -7--7---7
D --------------
A --------------
E --------------
wwinford Thank you very much, this helped a lot!
What kind of reverb are you using?
Fret 2 Fret Strymon Bigsky
wwinford I’m using an Hd500x. Particle verb is the closest thing I guess lol
Fret 2 Fret Try mixing the particle verb with a plate verb
wwinford good idea. I created a pretty nice ambient patch using a combo of particle, octoverb, lo-res delay, sweep echo, and a 1 octave low pitch glider, and a 2 octave higher pitch glider. Sounds sweet!
Can you do reckless love PLSSS
Classic droff riff in chorus
Ben Wooding that part is actually played by someone else!
Probably The Edge from U2 😁
So just be to clear you tuned down a half but are playing it like it's in GMaj?
Correct
Please say this is for Sundays.
Zachary Drummond not that I know of😔 just wanted to get it out there already
What do u mean this is for Sunday.
Parks Dorn he means for church on Sunday
Oh by the way u should really consider doing “reckless love” by Cory Ashbury
Parks Dorn That’s definitely a possibility! I’m starting to do more songs on here even if we aren’t doing them at my church
What amp? OD pedals?
sigilwig444 check out my gear walkthrough video
what model gretsch is this?
Zachary Verhulst 6118 Anniversary
Zachary Verhulst signature Tbone Winford Electromatic
So are you playing in the key of F here instead of F#?
Emilio Serritella I’m in the key of F#, but my guitar is tuned down a half step, so it seems like I am playing in G
wwinford okay cool, thanks alot
Michael
What key?
Foxtrot Omega F#
Sorry I'm being dense, so if your guitar is tuned down half a step then that means the riff with the original key is really one fret higher up the neck (as in towards the bridge)? Or am I backwards?
Karen McSpadden it would be one fret down if you are in standard tuning
Thanks!
What key is this in
Parks Dorn F#, but my guitar is tuned down a half step in this video
What guitar are you using?
My Daily Life Gretsch Anniversary
What key
Nery Alvarado I’m in the key of F#, but my guitar is tuned down a half step, so it seems like I am playing in G
TABS?
What amp did you use for this?
MAtt Hesson 2 Vox AC30 6TBs in stereo

Need a slower speed? Use the half speed play option. (Gear with HD icon)
That tone tho 😬
turorial isn't just playing son bro. Cmon.
I use this channel to resource musicians at my church who just need to see a video of the parts and the effects listed in real time
Some can be tricky but Its good to practice and train your ear! :)
