This song was a challenge, for sure. So much "give and take" with the guitar parts, especially tackling it in standard tuning! Ever have a song like that? #discuss
Hey man, thanks for the little speeches. I usually skip them but right now it really helps me maintain perspective when serving the church as a musician. Our church hasn’t been very good at managing the music ministry and it’s led to them kind of abusing some of the instrumentalists without knowing it or intending to. Thanks for helping me to set myself aside and keep serving.
I've been meaning to comment on this video for a while, and the set-list invite for this Sunday sent me back here for a refresher. THANK YOU! I play almost exactly what you do (but in F), and it sounds incredible. Fantastic parts and very creative. I'm not a classically trained guitarist (prior metal head haha) so I always check your channel first, when our worship team is learning a new song. Thank you for using your talents as an example and testament of your faith. Keep up the good work for HIS Glory!
This is hands down one of the best worship guitar tutorials I've seen! I am a skilled player, and can pick out parts if need be, but I don't often have the luxury of time. This is a well conceived and very helpful tutorial that gives you exactly what you need quickly! Thanks!
We are doing this next weekend in G. I had my parts figured out but some of your stuff in the late part of the bridge I’m going to use. Thanks for doing a play through! And yes, only having 1EG is always a trade off. It’s a fun challenge most of the time.
Well done. As the only electric player for our praise band I get the juggling...trying to find the best parts to fill the background. Yours is one of the better versions I've seen, great job!
I agree. Usually it’s always the short videos from the bands themselves that don’t help whatsoever. Or someone else playing it in a different key. But I really like his videos. He tries to stick to the original as much as he can. And as someone else whose the only electric. It’s nice to hear and see what others play to get a perspective on what works with one guitar and what doesn’t.
Protip for those who have a looper pedal: Because the main lead line is hard to fade in and out of: loop it the first time you play it, and don’t stop the loop for a good few measures. Then casually stop the loop. Now you have a lead line you can activate whenever you need; and it won’t loop right away giving you time to stop it and also activate it again when you need. Note: this will only work if your band plays with a click.
Excellent! We did this song for the first time yesterday. I will definitely be incorporating some of your ideas (that I can pull off, lol) next week. We're doing the song in E so this is very helpful. I'm also the only electric guitarist on our small team so combining parts is essential. Thanks for sharing!
Glad to see so many others that only have a single EG in the praise band challenged with keeping only certain parts. I usually just listen to the radio version and pick out the stuff that stands out most.
Aaron Reynolds There you go. This entire channel and the videos are on the website are all geared toward the 1-2 guitar player team. Glad it’s helpful!
Hi! Your tutorial is amazing. Congrats on making it available! It´s very helpful. Thank you. By the way, I was wondering where can I get this track with the metronome and musical direction. Did you create it yourself, or is there a website where I can purchase it? Thank you very much.
Hi Troy. Your videos along with Peter Malin's have helped me a lot. Could u please do a video aimed at beginners regarding practise how you learn your worship set in 6 days and any tips too. would greatly appreciate it. Cheers.
I love watching your tutorials but can I add a friendly thought. I don’t know about anyone else but your framing throws me off a little bit. I think your right hand that’s the strum or plucking hand should be moved from the bottom right of the frame to the bottom left. It helps give correct perspective on both hands in the right place. I love that you’re zoomed into both hands also
Thanks for the feedback! Although I haven’t heard that from anyone else, I can certainly try it soon. I’m never opposed to new ideas. 😀 I actually got this idea from a few official Bethel tutorials I’ve seen. Figured I’d give it a shot. Thanks again, bro!
How do you set your dual delay for this song? .8th or the 8th have a higher mix/feedback than the other? You think just a .8th delay would give the song the same effect?
Hey Troy, really appreciate the work you put into these videos. The production quality is phenomenal. First off, good lord that veritas sounds incredible! Are there any negatives to that guitar that you’ve noticed? I’m in the market for something in the same wheelhouse. Second, when you stack drives are you increasing volume at all? Or do you purposefully maintain the same volume when stacked? Thank you!
Sam, thanks for the kind words. Really means a lot. No draw backs; it really is a phenomenal guitar. The Tumnus provides a volume boost, but that's about it. The others lift the volume a little, sure. My purpose for stacking drives isn't volume boosting, though. Some folks do that, absolutely. I stack drives because I want to change the overall character of drive sound. Stacking drives is a cool way to do that. Many times, the sounds will cut more due to the changed character (more mids, more treble, etc.), so a big volume increase isn't really necessary. I hope that makes sense!
Hey Troy are you practicing to a track off of Ableton?🤔 I’ve been trying to figure out a way to practice the way you do in your videos. Just wondering if you could shed some light on that when you get the chance! Thanks!
Guitar for HIS Glory haha no I do not. I have a big sky. I watched your reverb video, as I watch all your videos, and payed really close to your settings. I got a little confused with the settings for the kemper when I try to translate them to the big sky. I see that each of the settings go to 200% and so I didn’t know how to proportionate the 40% from the kemper to the big Sky lol
Hi! inquire whether it is possible to find a sponsor for the purchase of a good guitar? there are Christians who have the opportunity to bless financially. there are also people who give up full service. I am one of those who serve but does not have great financial possibilities. I ask you not to take it personally. I pray and God will give me the opportunity because of you or I myself will get finances. Even if I do not get anything I will continue to serve God Thank you!

Love it

Man was so blessed by this...and it was educational...thank you Brother

G? Paint yourself lucky. Haha. You can actually play the verse accurately in that key. Tear it up, bro!
These are the best tutorials!

Thank you sooooooo much!!! The verse you worked in caught me off guard, in a good way. Made me re-focus on what's important.

This is my happy place.

Great job covering all the parts!!
Incredible tone

Loving the new axe bro!
Thank you so much, this is really really helpful!!
Are you running the dot 8th delay into the 8th?
love your stuff dude. Its great for learning!
God Bless

Can't really remember...LOL. There's a lesson on the website that explains all the effects and stuff.
Thanks bro

What Kemper profile are you using?? Sounds amazing.
I just realized how that fat riff is from where the streets have no name wow
Hi brother that is awesome guitar tone what Pups are using on this handsome guitar? Good lesson as well and God bless brother 🙌
Veritas Pope's.
Hey Troy are you practicing to a track off of Ableton?🤔 I’ve been trying to figure out a way to practice the way you do in your videos. Just wondering if you could shed some light on that when you get the chance! Thanks!
Robert, yep. I use multitracks. Ever heard of Rehearsal Mix from multitracks.com? That would work awesome for you. Best resource there is.
are those delays in digital or analog mode??
That the guitar, is big I like it
Hi! Would you be making a helix patch for this song?
Yep. Here it is, and it's on sale. :) guitarforhisglory.com/product/who-you-say-i-am-hillsong-2/
What chords does he play in chorus ?
There's a lesson at guitarforhisglory.com and a tab at guitarforhisglory.com/shop if you need help.
Hey great video, but what capo for Key of G?
3.
@@GuitarforHISGlory Thanks!
I did not see it in the video, what profile are you using for this?
Tone Junkie Match C30 EF86. :)
Amazing 😥😰
Hey man you said 86 bpm but when I set that in my delay it seems a little fast? Do you know why this is?
Yep. You're likely on the wrong tap division. Dotted eighth, not eighth.
Ryan Silver it’s also in 6/4
Ashton Brown It’s 6/8.
How much mix and decay is in your Medium mix verb?
Decay is normally 6-8 seconds. Mix is probably 30% or so on this one, off the top of my head.
Guitar for HIS Glory thank you!! Do you know what they are for your washy setting on the top of your head?
Pump the mix to 40ish and decay definitely to 8. It’ll be a fairly bright reverb as well. Do you have a Kemper?
Guitar for HIS Glory haha no I do not. I have a big sky. I watched your reverb video, as I watch all your videos, and payed really close to your settings. I got a little confused with the settings for the kemper when I try to translate them to the big sky. I see that each of the settings go to 200% and so I didn’t know how to proportionate the 40% from the kemper to the big Sky lol
I see what you’re saying. You can buy my Big Sky presets on my website. $15. Save yourself some time. :)
No more Helix?
I still have it. 🤘🏻
Nice cover but your hand position makes it almost impossible to get any cord structures visually during the chorus.
Mike Henderson, there’s an entire lesson and tab at guitarforhisglory.com. 👍🏻
@@GuitarforHISGlory I assumed as much ... nothing in life is free. I was able to break it down by ear. Thanks for replying.
Showwwww..

Do you just have a double barrel and a morning glory just hanging out on your wall?
Sawyer, I have pedals that I don’t use all the time, so that’s where I store them.
These are the best tutorials!
