I love these videos. I've been a bodybuilder for a few years now but I want to get into some bodyweight movements. All of the gymnasts I know are JACKED.
Great video guys! I remember watching one of your videos when I first started getting into GST. I purchased a set of rings and never looked back. Thanks for subscribing to my channel.
Thanks Hampus! Been really busy lately getting my e-commerce site goin - fitnessontherun.com. I'll keep creating more videos, but I don't think I can keep up the pace I was.
Oh, I totally understand that. Lot's of things going on. That sounds good. Very good! There is one thing i'd like to ask you about! I've gotten some problems in my shoulder when i trained planche a while ago. It would've been much easier if we took this on email estead? My email is hampusnilssone23@gmail.com. I hope you can find some time and try to help me. If not, ill try somewhere else but i have a feeling you know this sort of problem and if not, you got contacts :)
Hampus Nilsson i tried emailing you but it bounced back i think. Did you get it? anyways, the shoulder issue is only when you do planche? when else does it hurt?
Fitness On The Run Oh, sorry for my late answer! Thats wierd.. If you want to you can try this email estead: hampusnilsson23@gmail.com. I think it's called the rotator cuff, and it cracks/pops everytime I do a dynamic exercise when it comes to psuedo push ups, advanced tuck planche push ups, handstand push ups or anything like that...
Awesome video. I lack the strength to do press handstand. So how often should I practice to gain strength? Shouldn't I allow a couple of days to recover in between?
Nice video! I have a few questions: 1) Do you think there's a carryover of bent arm to straight arm strength? 2) Have you ever felt that sometimes we tend to do too much static-hold training and not enough basic strength exercises like pushups, dips and handstand pushups with additional weight? I ask this because in 2012 I was training like hell for the planche with mostly static holds and didn't progress at all and got injured for 14 months... Then in 2014 I stopped focusing on static holds and started doing handstand pushups with additional weight and now I've made some serious progress.
1. Yes - I think so - they can help each other but both need to be trained 2. I don't think people do Enough static holding exercises actually. I see most people doing more traditional presses and not too many L holds and other static exercises. Thanks for tuning in!
I have a question. When I do pullups, I feel my right arm pulling more because I'm right side dominant (more coordinated and stronger.) How can I fix this and balance out strength on the weaker side?
Try pulling up with both arms, then letting go of your right hand and doing a left arm only eccentric pullup (on the way down). That should help things out a bit.
nice. what do you think of the 30x3 l sit? is that a requirement, or is it ok to work on it with planche training? i can *just* get into a crappy straddle planche, but im working on it. the end of my first cycle is almost here!!
Hey Tom, I did a video on this th-cam.com/video/6-ADLkznDxM/w-d-xo.html and I also have a video on improving your hamstrings flexibility for L sit as well...th-cam.com/video/JpbtjX2_Ib0/w-d-xo.html
I like the explanation with the wine holder... and like the holder too :v Back to the video, that explanation is good for whom doesn't understand yet the balance principle on this.
Great Vids as usual ! You didn't covered the flexibility part required for the straddle planche ? The wider your legs are, the easier it is. Is that on purpose that you didn't covered this subject ?
MrKamikazetokkotai I can, although it costs quite a bit more. Can you email me through my site and we can chat about it? I need your address to get you an estimate. Thx!
2:16 not always straddle planche can be achieved without a press to handstand, my friends have achieved the planche without a stalder press, and it might be useful, but I'm so close to a straddle planche even without a straddle press to handstand
maybe your naturally better with doing stuff on bars and floor. i am the opposite. i find planche progressions easier on floor, but i can barely attempt a tuck planche on bars without excruciating wrist pain...
Great video Jon! Thanks for having me aboard!
Happy To Have You on the Channel Chris! Let's do some more of this soon!
Great stuff! I'll definitely incorporate some of these progressions.
this is one of the best tutorials!

where did you get the bar thing for planche?
How about i can do straddle but my legs dont go straight? Little curves help me

Thanks! Yeah, kind of like the wine bottle example - the more you straddle, the less weight at the base of the bottle and vice versa.
Awesome! Where can I purchase that holding staff ??
I think you are referring to the halo trainer and it's on my site fitnessontherun.com
Thanks! Can you ship it out overseas? How about Japan?
MrKamikazetokkotai I can, although it costs quite a bit more. Can you email me through my site and we can chat about it? I need your address to get you an estimate. Thx!
Thanks! I have just emailed via your site.
excelent video!!!
Thank You!!!

Great tutorial. My form has gotten alot better with the wine bottle illustration.
What parallettes are the ones used in the video? Love the vids
that's actually a "Halo Trainer" - I have them on my site if you want. I'm really enjoying it for so many exercises
Now, it's time to flip the Halo Trainer over (standard-V) and get your planche on! ;)
Great tutorial guys.
Yes, the V configuration is crazy hard!
What is the name of that pice of equipment your using to demonstrate on?
It's the Halo Trainer - I have them on my site if you are interested - fitnessontherun.com

Cool.
Good trick with bottle
What kind of wine holder that?
Thank you for good video :)
You are very welcome, thank you for sharing!
how to lock a arm n shoulder
That's power
I have the strength for a handstand pushup I can do 15 on the wall I just can't get the balance is there any tips for that?
My personal best in full planche is 18 seconds :)
i can hold a stradle planche for 45 secdonds but 1 seconds on legs together planche :) ,,, Filmed and counted by a friend.
I want the wine planche
Tuck planche exercise i can hold 30 sec on push up bar,but on floor only 5 sec, why?
maybe has something to do with wrist flexibility/strength?
Fitness On The Run
Ok, thanks for your answer and great tutorial !

Thanks for your answer !
I did it for a hour
7 seconds
and I can do a straddle planche for 3 secs
I'm sorry but your joints aren't even locked out at the elbows. This is not a true planche
your straddle planche is lacking technique. Lower your hips and protract much more. Your body is arched not straight
