Annemarie Moser-Pröll : Annemarie Proll, The Austrian alpine skier who dominated the World Cup in the 1970s, winning six overall titles and a record 62 races.
Mikaela Shiffrin : The American skier who is the current queen of slalom, with four Olympic medals and seven World Championship titles.
Lindsey Vonn : The American skier who is the most decorated female skier of all time, with 82 World Cup wins and eight World Championship medals.
Vreni Schneider : The Swiss skier who is the only woman to win three gold medals at a single Olympics, and the first to win five World Cup disciplines.
Janica Kostelić : The Croatian skier who is the most successful female Olympic skier ever, with six medals, including four golds.

And will Mikaela beat Annemarie by the end of her career? Probably, but as of now, she's still not there yet.

The top four are in a league of their own, and one can only agree with the selection. I also agree with your order, although here beauty is in the eye of the beholder - these are all skiing queens who excelled in slightly different ways.
Number five and six are less obvious, maybe a tad eccentric. Based on World Cup results (overall and discipline titles), Katja Seizinger and Renate Goetschl would come next - but also Hanni Wenzel, Anja Paerson, Maria Riesch or Erika Hess would have a claim.
I understand your list is prioritizes the number of overall WCs the skiers won. This is a good metric, but it tends to favor allrounders who could collect points in many disciplines.

Do you have any clue what you were talking about? Proell still has more overall World Cups than Shiffrin, she totally dominated the 1970s and every event from the giant slalom to the downhill. And all this even though she took years out of her career to look after her sick father.
Shiffrin may be the best at the end of her career, but not yet.
@@henrykaspar3634 lol shiffrin will tie her in wc globes and has won over 30 races more in wc, more chsmpionship golds and was better in olympic. and she has all important other records like lost podiums most wins in a season, won every discipline... how she can not be first... shiffrin also had a timeout when her father passed away for 2 years. and still has 6 globes at the age of 29
There were fewer races in the 1970s, there was no super G that Proell would have dominated otherwise, and Proell competed only in 2 Olympics with fewer events.
Your result comes from comparing apples with oranges, once you stick with apples Proell is still #1.
Btw, it is likely that Shiffrin will overtake Proell and end her career as the most accomplished skier ever. But it will take another season or 2 until she’s there.
@@henrykaspar3634 i think you can't really compare 2 different eras. oc back then there where fewer races and 1 less discipline but the other athletes where less professional so not as competitive as today. even if there where super-g back then she would max win 90 races or something. but your point is right bever thought about it... i think they are pretty even at this point but shiffrin is a bid ahead in my opinion because of the points i mentioned. and you have think that it was easier for allrounders to win the overall world cup because only the 3 best races of every discipline did count
Ok let’s make peace and move on. It’s normal that people disagree on something where there are many criteria, but no generally accepted ones.
My view is in the thread that I started: the top 4 are all skiing queens and difficult to compare, as they excelled in slightly different ways.
And anyway, one doesn’t compare queens.
Except Anja Pärson has also won World championship gold in all five disciplines.

Pfft. 'Kaela is a league of her own, really. Over a decade of perseverance in the face of the fact that the sport keeps getting more and more competitive with each passing year. And she's already the greatest WC racer while still bagging those World Cup victories with seemingly casual ease.
