I was exposed to John MacArthur and I lost all my hope for salvation. I went into such severe depression and shear fear that I didnt have a will to eat anymore but forced myself to eat so that I wouldn't die which I was terrified and was nearly put into an emergency clinic because all I could think about was dying and spending an eternity in hell, that God didn't want me because I didn't have enough fruit in my life. It was two years of torture for me. My views on scriptures were so warped. Everything changed when I stopped listening to John M. And just asked Jesus please save me, I can't do it. Now I am relearning everything with Pastor Woods and Arnold Fruchtenbaum and it is like balm on my heart, it is like hope being rekindled and catching fire again. After listening to this message I just had to sit here and soak in the hope, the truth, the encouragement being fed back into me. Thank you Jesus for helping me find Your Truth and providing great teachers that speak Your life giving Words, I could not ever say thank you enough to You Lord, or to you Pastor Woods and Mr. Fruchtenbaum. What a torturous darkness some Christians live in under the wrong teachers.
@Crazygarfieldcat38 thank you so much! This is an answer to prayer for me because as I am getting out of reformed theology I've been wondering, oh do I believe enough and rightly now since I wasn't before? So this really has helped me to know what to do as these thoughts and feelings come along. It's scary getting out of reformed theology because it's because of extreme fear that I even was in it. I appreciate this text so much and I am going to take a screen shot of it. Thank you!
@Crazygarfieldcat38 Also I hope that your doubts are much better now too? I will pray for you 🙏 I'm so sorry you got caught in their traps too. I'm very sad for so many people who listen to them. It's horrible what they have done to people. It's like the Gentile version of what the unbearable load the Pharisees were putting on the Jews.
@Crazygarfieldcat38 I think you have a very brave outlook about it considering how deep and dark the effects are that this whole theology causes. I am hoping to be able to say the same as you about it all one day. Right now I've been praying to the Lord just to be able to forgive them. Thank you so much, I could have cried reading this yesterday because I was having the unbiblical thoughts and not really understanding them. It is so helpful when you said that God doesn't deal in the what ifs but in truth. That was like a light bulb moment for me, and that He isn't the author of confusion. I absolutely love the example too about Moses's pole and Jesus on the cross. That was also so helpful. I took screen shots of everything because I think I will have to practice getting strong in this. I am really sorry you went through this too, but grateful that God used this so you could be closer to God and also help others. I want you to know you really have helped me. Its I am shakely trying to walk the other direction out of this and I was really struggling with my thoughts and you really came along and gave me a hand, pulled me up, and encouraged me so much to continuing to walk this way. It's like God sent you 🙏 Thank you so much 😁 I'd like to maybe get to help someone too one day I hope!
@Crazygarfieldcat38 yes I was really upset about that. But then you have all these preachers that come to his defense about it. I also heard about him letting his family serve on the treasury and that his son stole a lot of money. And he never stepped down as a pastor, or if the son ever got in trouble but then when John Pipers son made that video making fun of God and the Bible he was saying John P. according to the Bible should step down. I also read an article by one of his former deacons about the lady who came to him for help because her husband was sexually abusing the children and he was just offering her family counseling and to go back home to him. When she didn't, he kicked her out of the church. Meanwhile the husband went to court, was convicted and went to jail for molesting his children and John M. gave him everything he needed to start a ministry in jail. When the deacon brought up that John should apologize to the wife, he said " forget it". Other women have come forward too about him telling them to go back into abusive situations. I don't know if he has apologized yet or not. So if his whole thing is about works well I hope his eyes get opened to how bad his are.
You are such a solid teacher and straightforward. In my past years as a Christian, I never received real, solid teaching at churches I attended,,, so I know God led me to get fed and learn from you. I wonder if God has certain people He chose and elected specially,,,,and everyone else makes a choice to answer a call to salvation through Christ. Many are called but few are chosen. Everyone is called to receive Christ,,,,and few are purposed and elected with an anointing of God's choice for service.
@@bridgetguillot5666 passed over by God is never a good thing. Esau had contempt for the things of God. He passed up the blessing for his fleshly appetite, so God passed him up.
Read romans 9 in parallel with Jeremiah 18. Where paul is literally quoting from. It is clear that this is about national responses and not individuals. He only uses individuals to represent nations. @@kristenspencer9751
Paul is not referring to the twins as individuals . Go back to Genesis where God tells Rebecca that "rhere are 2 nations in your womb". The twins represented nationalities.
*Isn’t ATONEMENT the wrong word for what Christ did? ATONEMENT “covers” and never takes away in the Old Testament. What Jesus did is “propitiate” isn’t it. Propitiation is a 20 page definition word I heard. If ATONEMENT worked they would never have to do it Year after Year In the OT.*
Thats really good. Propitiation takes you back to all that happened at the temple. The alter, the laver, the mercy seat and especially the blood. Its all a picture of what Jesus did at the cross. What Jesus did is our atonement and its propitiation. Its everything, all in all. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. Sry about my bad spelling
I was wondering if anyone else would be asking this. This whole teaching is irrelevant since the idea of atonement is an OT ideology. The NT ideology is what Paul calls "the ministry of reconciliation ". Do a study on the word.
So then there is double jeopardy?Jesus paid the price for people that are in hell?so then they have to once again pay for all eternity for sins that Jesus died for them from?I don’t think God wasted one drop of the suffering of his Son’s agony and blood ,only to then have them perish ..something is off . I believe the world here could mean the not the world without exception, but without distinction,Jew or Greek etc..where this is teaching that Jesus died for no one in particular, and everyone in general.,there’s no definitive atonement, that’s not activated unless WE decide to believe it.,is this correct?
He died for ALL, knowing that not all will believe and put their faith in Him. They rejected God's mercy. God is just. He cannot wink at sin. The Bible says "the soul that sins must die". God must punish sin. In the world today, we don't like an un-just judge who let a thief or a rapist off scot-free. Justice must be done. But as John 3:16 says "For God so LOVED the world that He gave his only Son...that whosoever believes will have eternal life." Life...not death. God's judgement for your sin was placed on Christ on the Cross and fully dealt with. Those who believe (ONLY those who believe) are considered to be righteous. God sees them as if they have not sinned, because that sin was atoned for. It makes one to be at peace with God. So...in a way...in a manner of speaking...God only died for certain people. He knows in advance who will and who will not believe. There's a verse in the Bible where God says He doesn't want anyone to spend eternity in Hell, but that ALL should come to repentance. That's His heart, but He also knows that some will not believe. There are people today who hate God, hate those who believe in God, call themselves "Atheists", who want to live anyway they please. They hate the laws of God and mock Him. They do not believe in either a heaven or hell and think this life is all there is...that there is no after-life. People like that have always existed. God always gives people time to repent. Noah preached for 120 years and yet only he and his immediate family were saved in the ark. The ark was made to be huge...not for animals, but for more people. But those people refused.

How would you explain the verse 'Jacob, I loved and Esau, I hated' of Romans 9:13?
Foreknowledge
Tara, he explained this exact verse. The word, hated, in this context means passed over. He passed over Esau and chose Jacob.
