    I picked the trench oxford. Thank you for the touching story and offering military discount. I have served for the US Army as M1A1/A2 tank crew member.

      There is currently a Memorial Day sale. Got the natural bluchers for $250. They fit like a glove. This company rocks.

    It’s great to see this kind of craftsmanship is still around and seems to be making a comeback. People think shoes like this are expensive but they’re cheaper in the long run.

    Most of friends are this type of craftsman, so I definitely recognize that drive for perfection.

    There is nothing like owning a pair of handmade boots. I received my first pair when I was around thirteen from a boot maker in Wyoming. Ever since other boots paled in comparison. If you ever have the chance get a hand made pair of shoes, your feet will thank you.

      I’m a fan of oak street. Just bought black field boot. They are typically $462 & this past Labor Day, it was on sale for well under $300. Great investment. I also have the trench oxford in natural chromexcel & a custom made trench oxford in black chromexcel. They are all quite comfortable & can take a beating.

      @@bfettrulez6734 whats the difference in the two.. i cant decide between which of the two.. the field or the trench ? does the field have a thinner sole ? are they the same comfort ?

    • @bfettrulez6734
      @bfettrulez6734 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Scot Meissner while I like my field boot, I think the trench is a little more sturdier. I would go with trench if I were you. The leather is too thin on field but it’s still a great boot. Just my opinion. The field boot can pass for a dress boot. Not so much with the trench. Each has its plus & minus. Oak street is a good company though. Never had a problem. The belts are great too. The derbies are awesome as well. Hit me up if you wanna talk shop some more.

    • @bfettrulez6734
      @bfettrulez6734 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Scot Meissner the field sole is the same as the trench. It’s just the upper is thinner on the field. The upper on the trench is made up of thicker leather. Hope this helps. Are u looking for a sturdy boot for work/hunt etc or more casual or possibly wear to a party or going out with your friends?

      @@bfettrulez6734 Bfett Rulez Hi Bfett.. thanks for the reply... I am not hunting.. I have the THursday presidents now in the natural.. so was looking for something similar .. I have both in my cart in oakstreet and couldnt seem to find any answers.. does the fit feel the same ? is the field a shorter boot that does not come up as high ? are they the exact same color in the natural ? look for an everyday boot .. city boot that i wear everywhere

      It’s a prerequisite. You cannot work in the factory unless you have hands like that. That’s the key to Oak Street’s success.

    • @bfettrulez6734
      @bfettrulez6734 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Horrible quality since early 90s. Timberland stopped being Timberland when they made everything in China.

    The best leather in the world comes from Chicago? this guy is either dishonest or has no idea what he is talking about.

    • @JM12044
      @JM12044 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +perolito83 Not really. Horween leather is definitely up there for the best. The only other tannery I can think of that comes close to rivaling it is SB Tannery which is what Red Wing Heritage uses.

    • @perolito83
      @perolito83 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeremy M The best leather in the world is not from the US....

    • @JM12044
      @JM12044 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'm assuming you think the best leather makers are in Italy? Yeah that overpriced designer "leather" is complete bullshit. You're paying for a brand name when you buy that. I think I'll stick with horween chrome xl which is what's on top quality boots such as wolverine 1000 mile, v berg boots, oakstreet boot makers, nicks, whites, etc. Oh and sb tannery which is what is on red wing heritage. You have fun paying several hundred dollars on shitty italian shoes made by gucci, prada, hermes, etc. Odds are you'll throw them away in a year or two. Meanwhile my awesome made in America red wing iron rangers and my Thorogood 1892 beloit boots will last me for the rest of my life. GTFOOH you obviously have no idea what you're talking about.

    • @perolito83
      @perolito83 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you truly think that the leather used in Wolverine 1000 or Redwing boots is the best leather in the world, then you sir, are a moron. They are nice boots though.

    • @JM12044
      @JM12044 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ok seeing how you seem to think you know so much about this subject... By all means what do you think is the best leather tanneries in the world? And which boots are the best? Be specific.

  • @nosebleedrandy
    @nosebleedrandy 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    These boots and shes are not inexpensive, they cost damn near 400 dollars. If im gonna spend that much ill go get myself some red wings.

    • @jessijam5385
      @jessijam5385 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think Red Wings is kind of working boots not for dressy. But Oakstreet boots is beautiful and you can dress up or dress down. And if you know about some kind of leather and build quality, i can say that Oakstreet bootmakers has higher leather quality and higher build quality than Red Wings (exept the work boots has steel toe i dont see at Oakstreet bm), if OBM use Shell Cordovan leather i think they can compare with some very high quality brand like Viberg or Truman,...

    • @jr4chargers
      @jr4chargers 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As a guy who owns Red Wing. Oak Street Bootmakers have better quality boots. In my opinion, they are a step above Red Wing.
